Or add current score to the upper-left display. The idea of a series about your progress makes a lot more sense if we can track your progress. Right now it's more like "highlights from multiplayer" than "journey to pink S+."
Holy crap!!! I was in Ryu’s video. I knew that I played with someone with his gamer tag (ryuSMM) but I didn’t think it was really him. I certainly didn’t think I would ever be in one of his videos. I was the toad from 20:37 in this video. I even remember playing the level. It was an honor to be killed by you Ryu.
I honestly prefer Ryukar's videos A LOT more without this level of heavy editing, especially the really cringey "remixes" hahaha I feel like Ryukar's personality is way good on its own. All his videos really need are the zoom ins, the indicator of what character he's playing and the time cuts
its too much editing, not only the cuts are bad, but there are too much crap splashing on the screen, too much zoom, music, and whatever. for me this was unwatchable, didnt even finish the video
CarlSagan42's editor did something similar recently, but he has been editing for Carl for quite some time & it fits more with Carl's personality. Trying that right out of the gate with Ryukahr was pretty cringy.

This new editing definitely feels bad. I'm not a fan of the humor and I feel less like I'm watching skilled Ryu beat levels to climb and more like I'm watching clips of random Mario Maker 2 moments with the occasional random fart noise or something. I really wish there was a rating tracker at the very least (to show him start at 5300 and make progress by the end of the video) and a clearer showcase of some of these levels. I certainly don't think this is low-effort content by any means since the amount of work that the editor put in is very visible, I just don't think it fits the sort of thing Ryu viewers are used to seeing.
The content is great, didn't like the editing in this one too much. I would prefer the effects to be more subtle. (Playericon in the top left is awesome)

Hi Ryu! Cool to have the character indicator on the top of the screen, it really helps. But what is happening on the editing? We like to see the multi-player experience from beginning to the end. Why are so many bits of the levels cut!? It is very frustrating.
I think he said that somebody else is doing the editing for these VS highlights not him and I really like the change of pace for these videos actually a lot, it fits them.

they edit them this way because as you can see this rank is extremely slow paced. he played for hours and got 200 points. if he were to show every game start to finish, it would not only be very boring, it would be hours long. this way we get to watch the funniest moments. if you wish to watch it with no cuts, just go to his twitch channel

And that editor still puts a lot of work in it. It is not easy to do these types of things. And if you say it isn't, than edit a stream that has a duration of a few hours, and try to make it flow good.

Stages with tape or an axe only allow one person to finish but a stage with a flagpole allows a few extra seconds for people close to the goal to touch it too. If you win you gain points to your ranking, if you lose then you lose points(-15:30), touching the flagpole causes you to lose less points(-1:5) so its nice to let people get within range to finish as long as you don't let them snipe you Teamwork explained

I have a request as well, is there anyway that the edits on the same level wouldn’t cut like .5 seconds ahead for example when he’s climbing the vine at 1:19 it’s just really jarring and kind of confusing.
This vid felt overedited imo, too many sound effects, cuts, zooms and 'remixes' of your reactions into a soundtrack of some sort. It was a pretty decent video otherwise though, still fun to watch.

The note blocks are the green slime you jump on! (In the original stage, you turn lava all springy, but here it starts that way.)
They need to have an ingame indicator of who you are, and/or let you pick. If all 4 characters have the same physics and hit boxes, it would be easy to simply sprite swap the other players to be who ever the player isn't.
