I'm surprised that you don't recommend any kind of hardening when you're done. It seems like a little bit of hammering would make it stay perfectly in shape.

Hi Kim! You certainly could hammer it if you like. It will work harden the project for sure. However, for this project I don't find it all that necessary. Unless you are using a really fine wire, or planning on putting the ornament somewhere where it could get bent out of shape, the wrapping around the jig hardens the wire slightly and it wont unravel. Plus because of the nature of jig work, hammering will change the way the wires cross each other, flattening them and texturing it in some cases. You have to take that into consideration as a possible design choice.

quick comment. I have 2 wigjigs and they advertise 1000's of patterns on their site, but I cannot get into the site and they do not respond to phone calls. do you have any ideas how to get these patterns?

Hey Erin, they went out of business several years ago (retirement). Beadsmith now makes the WigJigs. You might check with them on the patterns. They may own the rights to them now too.

Hi Erin, I was able to go to www.wigjig.com/learn to find some excellent projects.
