After Out Run showed up it was impossible to imagine SEGA (or any company!) could come out with a cooler and more exciting race game. Two years later there we had it: the Power Drift! It took me so many times to reach the fifth stage and finish first in that one. Then i heard the legend that if you managed to finish first in every stage you had an extra one in which your car transforms into the After Burner plane. Sounded improbable...but, again playing and failing many times until, in front of a pumped up crowd around the arcade: the Extra Stage, the race started, my car shifting into that already famous F-14. Could not believe my eyes! Everybody shouting and cheering, my smile bigger than ever. As a reflex i shifted the gear lever at every curve and with the plane flying over the road there was no collision risk, so i also finished first in the extra stage. It was a glorious moment of my life. Eternal gratitude to the SEGA brains behind this game. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina

Those arcade racing games were unforgiving, PD was once of the hardest i've played, it takes just one crash then it's literally impossible to recover or simply game over as you can only play until the time runs out.
I used to play this in the arcades all the time. I had a bunch of people watching me play and when the car converted to the Hang On motorcycle everyone went crazy. The same thing happened when I did the stage with the Afterburner F-15. at the end.
You noticed that too, huh? Yeah, that was always one minor quibble I had about Power Drift: You can pick your driver, and you can pick your race track, but you can't pick your car. "Okay, Emily! Course A! Pink car! Okay, get out of the garage, Emily...HEY! What happened to my cute pink sportster? This is an ugly green off-roader! I want my money back!"
There was actually a mobile game for this (It's removed now) it was made by Sega and it was a power drift game, basically, before the race even begins, you have to draw in the whole track to the end point, then the race will begin
I always played as Amy be a good life with fantasy girl I will fight against the world and go over it and knowing believe it or hurl you can't do it and after exhale.
I am not sure if this is a true version of power drift I'm sure a cheat is being used by the way I know that game so bleeding well it could be a part of me if something is not right I can tell I never thought that we could be done with the following fake levels of the word on the real game of thrones dark arcade style even though it is a major fool around cheat I am not looking to be the guy who will shake the word from the world as a major player in the world back from the no 12boy.0world, I am pd champ. Dear user the challenge is set for taking the word on not impressed scamp I will succeed at this stage the world as pd I will succeed and knowing believe that I can accend I will fight to be the guy who will take.
You should have played Power Drift back in its original "driver pod" cabinet. I always had to stay sitting there for a few minutes after my game ended, just so I could walk straight again!

Bコース、LIKE THE WIND最高ですね！3面半ばのアップダウンでちょうど間奏が終わって曲が盛り上がるので、そこでいつもテンションぶち上がってました。
何回やってもどこかで凡ミスをして2位になるのでEXTRA STAGEに行ったことがないのが心残りです

セガの大型筐体のなかで、唯一自分でノーコンでエンディングまで行けたゲームでしたｗ近所に５０円のハンドルついただけの奴があってそれで練習して遠くの疑似遠心力装置の付いた大きなものに挑戦してましたｗこの動画では最後にハングオンのバイクになってるけど、、私がやってたコースは、アフターバーナーのジェット機になって飛んでたなーｗ
私は、スペースハリアー、アウトラン、アフターバーナー、エンデューロレーサーなどワンコインクリアしてましたが、これだけは無理でした。いつもコースから外れて落ちてましたね。最後車が変化するのは知りませんでした。

@@soshuzuizui2001 バイクやジェット機に変化するのは、最初の５コース全部１位取らないといけないんすよｗでも、普通にミスなく３週すればちょうど１位は自動的にとれるようなゲームバランスだったと記憶しています
@@soshuzuizui2001 あとテクニック的なコツというか大したことじゃないんですが、、カーブの手前でブレーキ踏むんじゃなくギアをローに一瞬だけ入れるとスコーンってスピードが落ちてタイトなカーブも曲がり切れるんすよｗそのあとまたハイに入れると、スムーズに小さいカーブが曲がれたように記憶していますw
私も、体感ゲームの頃は高校生でした。200円でしたよね。当時のお小遣い月1000円でした。友達と１機交代でプレーしてました。だから、必死だったのかもしれません。
昔、PC-98がまだ全盛の頃、このパワードリフトをPC-98に同人で移植した人がいた。グラフィックは速度を出すために凄く荒いんだけど、ゲームのフィーリングはそのままで作れていたから、凄くやったな。それとリンクしてこのパワードリフトはよく覚えている。もう、今のゲーセンじゃあ、こんなに長い時間をワンコインで遊ばせてくれないもんね。

あと、今の10代、20代にはパワードリフトも知らない世代ばかりなんで、どんどん過去作から引用してないと、次の10年、20年で商売する相手おらんようになる。
過去の栄光にすがるんじゃなく、過去の資産を最大限利用してガッツリ稼いでほしい。
目標とするべきは「親子二代とか三代でゲームを楽しむ姿だろ！」ってのがオイラの考え。
