Imagine a map like this, except there are archviles, chaingunners, and cyberdemons everywhere constantly shooting you, and some of the platforms are damaging floors or crushers so you can't ever take your time.

Yah know, after watching this, an analysis video on different types of jumps and how to pull them off or even why they work, or why they are called what they are called. Like the SR 50.
Did I mentioned how I hate Xen jumping sections in HL1? If yes, then forget it. If you already forgot, than re-forget it again. And if I didn't, then never mind. Compared to this, I have nothing to complain about. Props to you for beating this.

@@decino True cruelty would be placing the trigger for that crusher immediately before the end, requiring the dedicated player to wait for an unknown time with the exit switch tantalizingly close. Are they imps? Barons? Cybies? Who knows, until the kill counter hits 100%!
It's possible to skip the linedef that triggers the crusher, as seen in 4shockblast's 26-second pacifist run of the map, but if the intent was to force the player to do the whole map for a max run then a secret sector would have done the trick just as well. The only "logical" purpose I can see to it is that it's like a secret sector, but only for UV, since the pinkies (and the mancubus) are only flagged for UV/NM skill. But it's just as likely that it has no purpose at all.
Prior to watching: I’m guessing somewhere around 56 attempts. I saw a speed run video of this level and at multiple points it seemed to require a rocket jump, or a wall run, or both, but maybe they actually just did that to skip platforming bits that I didn’t catch. After watching: I underestimated you, Decino. I will never do so again.
I've only seen like one or two maps from this wad, So I'm basically watching it blind. This map looks like an absolute nightmare to play. I mean, so have the others, but at least those were combat oriented, and not bs platforming.

tbf, Doom has saving anywhere, so you can always retry constantly.

Far away masterminds constantly peppering from an insane range so they'll hit seldom, but still apply pressure.
There's a short bit in map01 of flotsam that is basically what you're asking for.
