Barge hype. Glad you got a chance to see the movie and experience it from a ‘not-the-target-demographic’ kind of viewpoint. Thanks for sharing! And glad you net enjoyed it.
Cool. Glad you got the Sail Barge. So did I. Now to get the Sarlac Pit. Saw it was Double Points & ordered Nightmare. Maybe I'll order more. Didn't know there was a movie. I almost shut this off, cause, spoilers. Good job at not ruining it.
For a minute I thought you bought the pharrell set for review...😂 Now going back to catch up on some older Bricking news episodes while knowing the future 😀. Grtz, SG from Belgium 🇧🇪
I spend more time finding out who for heaven's sake PW is and what that movie is than watching this video. Might watch it on Netflix/Disney/etc if they ever have. The barge is a really cool set but out of reach for me. Would be cool if you reviewed the two sets! ❤😎
It was literally what Pharrell described it as, it was a biopic told in lego he wanted to do it to express the creativity/colour it was more a visual medium thing i think it could have worked as a normal biopic but the charm would have been lost/it would have been more dramatised/acted. It's not a Lego Movie it's a Movie in Lego it's not the same but i get the disconnect/confusion people are having. It was good and a satisfying story/a good slice into his story again i didn't know he had so much impact on the industry like that, so as a non fan Piece by Piece was at least interesting and engaging once you get over it being Lego it just works. It was great/far better than i expected, i like the fact he didn't really tell the artists he was gonna do it in Lego as he was right they would have toned down their a answers, they were far more genuine as they didn't know. I'm not his biggest fan but i didn't realise he collaborates with that many artists, i also liked seeing his past with The Neptune's i liked that it was serious the BLM bit was crazy and very interesting, the humour and how they got past certain things bikini LEGOS, PG Spray and cursing 🤣🤣🤣 it was hilarious as it was clever. The set i think is to do more with representation as the Heads to me are the main attraction its partly the reason i want to buy it at £90 it should be cheaper to get it in more hands but next year I'm grabbing it simply for that, the build is alright, i thought the ship was the one we saw with Daft Punk a missed opportunity. I feel like more could have been done at least a CMF series or a couple of sets from Atlanta, a recording studio set, interview set, his house idkm i agree with Ashnflash and missed opportunity, vignette style sets or even a 4 pack like the Tales of the space age set could have worked.
Glad you got the Sail Barge. The set is about Representation that's why you get all those minifigure heads, thats the focus of the set but at point it should have been cheaper so more people can get it as you said you're not the target demographic and thats fine and for solely LEGO fans the build in itself is pretty basic but makes for a striking/different set. I think sets based on Record studios, vignette style builds, his childhood House, chad hugos house a celebrity CMF etc could have been more successful, it was definitely interesting as a film though and the way the handled material like the PG Spray lol, Censoring Cursing, known Brands. It gave me a lot more insight into his career and what he's done/the impact he had its a movie in Lego rather than a "Lego movie" those are for entertainment this was a biopic/documentary. Idk i liked it and will be buying the set.
I ordered the Barge and glad I did. Very enjoyable build and a really impressive display. Liked it so much I'm building the sarlac set to complete the look.
Hi love the content. Bit of topic but hope you can help My son (13) is also a big ‘Oswald’ fan and loves your upscale version. Could you give me an insight on how to build one or obtain the list of pieces myself (Xmas present 🎁 for him) Thanks in advance Simon. In the UK by the way
For my children, whenever we say ‘Oswald’, it was a giant blue Octopus and its cartoon adventures. I show them this Oswald and they thinks its a cousin of Mickey Mouse.
Start with The upscale minifigure, set 40649, for the body. You will need to color swap the red shirt and bottom half of the legs for black parts. For the head you will want to use the Mickey Mouse head in set 43179 as a starting point. The ears and nose are pretty easy to swap however the head/body connector are more difficult. Hope this helps.
@@jasonsbricksin5 hi, all underway now, appreciate your help getting if of the ground, he’s going to be so overjoyed about this. He and i love yours (and Alex’s content ) and as an AFOL of a certain ago cough cough 🤣can really appreciate a lot of your comments, keep it up. Will email photos when we are sorted thanks again Simon. ‘UK Oswald appreciation society’ haha 👍🏼
So... If you're a fan of Pharrell Williams, and also Lego, this might be the movie for you. Why put those things together? We'll never know. Well, good to know that I don't need to worry about that one. :P
The idea of the movie and Lego just don't match up to me. Lego doesn't want to promote gas cars but they will promote people like Snoop dog. Makes no sense to me and seems really off brand.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! The set would have been WAY BETTER WITH THE BLUE ANGEL INSTEAD! But that's my bias. lol... Enjoy the barge!

I find myself drawn to the artsy uniqueness of the Pharrell Williams set. I’ll consider picking it up on a sale.
Interesting, thanks for sharing
Probably I will not go to the cinema, but I’ll definitely watch it once on the home screens

All I know about Pharrell is that he ripped off his song "Happy" from Weird Al's song "Tacky".
So... If you're a fan of Pharrell Williams, and also Lego, this might be the movie for you. Why put those things together? We'll never know.
