As a child, the more frosting the better. Now as an adult, the absolute less frosting the better. I’d rather taste the delicious flavor of the cake than frosting. I love this cake! It’s perfect!
That's how I am with my donuts now, I get the naked ones like we had in school or I'll get the light sugared ones. That icing be too much for me but my kids love it when I take it off my cakes😂

As I myself am a person with specific dietary restrictions, I couldn't help but discern that the customer must be someone who views a proper birthday celebration as ONLY one in which the guest of honor might partake of their own cake. Even if it's a small slice, it can make ALL the difference. ❤️🥰🍰

Ooh, that's a great idea! I once made a plaid-look cake. I used 2 box mixes for 4 round cakes. I'm sure you've heard of it -- just a way to make a cake look awesome and look decorated without having to use icing. 😊
I order that sometimes but with buttercream on the inside. I don’t like frosting that much. My grandma used to leave 1/4 of her cakes without frosting for me when I was a child , it used to drive my grandpa insane 😂

There’s some really nice cake designs made with colored and cooled cake batter that’s drawn on parchment paper and pressed on the cake. It’d be really cool to see something like that for a lower sugar design.
Honestly when I get slices of cake at birthday parties they always have way too much icing/frosting. I usually only eat the cake part and leave the mound of frosting on the plate so this would actually look good to me.

This is why I started getting Japanese and Chinese treats years ago. Now western culture has hit them too so I have to be careful again. But for pastry I find they still are usually not nearly as sweet as American cakes.
As someone who loves intensely sweet cakes, I need at least an inch thick of non whipped icing 🫨 but, this minimal sweetness cake is very endearing and original lol

Mood. I hate icing but love chocolate cake, and my mummy knows me so well, so for my 15th birthday she got a two tiered chocolate cake with the thinnest layer of icing coating the cake and sprayed on colors. It was so pretty, it had flowers on it, and looked like a fairytale garden cake ❤
Looks absolutely legitimate to me. It feels very refreshing to see things being done the way they can be done and not the way they should be done. And also, accommodating to make the cake in Spanish in a country where the foreign (the brown foreign anyway…) are hated so hard seems like a great demonstration of kindness and understanding and peace.

I always scrap the icing off of all the pastry type treats that I eat.
