Is it true that any attraction aspects cancel out when there is a venus square or opposition Neptune aspect in synastry? I know hard aspects between Neptune and Venus can indicate one sided attraction. There was a guy who was really into me and when checking out synastry there were mutual attraction aspects that I had to disagree with in real life but I did notice his Neptune was very strongly in opposition to my Venus by less than one degree close to zero. I was told squares and opposition between Venus and Neptune can cause one sided attraction and wipe out other mutual attraction aspects.
That's an interesting thought. However I think that ultimately, with a little work, love and insight, all aspects can be "risen above". That being said the square, particularly, is a challenging aspect for the Venus person to navigate as time goes on. Neptune's positive attributes are compelling as it deals with spirituality, religion, ideals and morals. But when there's a challenge to it, those attributes become an illusion to the other person if there's a square. So anyway to answer your question, there is the possibility that attraction aspects could be cancelled with Venus in challenging aspect to Neptune, But, its not an automatic. For instance, if the Neptune person's mars is trine or sextile the venus person's, there's the chance that the love and romance can be strong enough to overcome the illusion of venus square neptune. and what if the neptune person's venus is trine the venus person's neptune! Neptune square / opposition venus doesnt always manifest in deception or cheating / lying in love. it could just be that the venus person is a bit too enamored with the neptune person. there are so many possibilities. so, yes the aspect can indicate one-side attraction but the neptune person could have their own venus aspects with the other person that are so strong that it just may not be one-sided. it might just be that the venus person is a bit too idealistic and enamored with the romance....
@ Synastry astrology: Thank you for your reply. I’m not an advanced astrologer but I do it for fun and I have done observation from my personal experience. My Venus and Mars did not aspect his (Neptune person) Venus or mars. For me personally most of the people I found attractive aspected my Venus or mars in some way. Some astrologers also told me if your Sun, Moon, Venus and or Mars conjuncts a persons ascendant you will find them attractive but it’s hard for me to measure this theory as I don’t know most peoples time of birth and they usually don’t know it in the back of their head either, I do notice a lot of Sagittarius Suns that conjunct my ascendant in Sagittarius do often express physical attraction towards me. I’m surprised you referenced the Venus person feeling it with a Neptune square or opposite Venus synastry because I experienced the opposite. I am the venus person and didn’t feel anything at all while the Neptune person who was opppiste to my Venus felt so much for me. I also looked at my sister and coworkers synastry. My sister dated her friend who found her very attractive but she didn’t find him physically attractive at all and just found him mentally attractive. His Neptune squared her Venus but she already has this aspect in her natal chart. Also my coworkers are dating and the girl told me she likes his personality but she is just not attracted to his looks while he is really into her looks. Looking at their synastry his neptune squares her Venus. So I always thought the Neptune person is the one who feels attraction while the Venus person not so much.

From my perspective, when i was younger and dating ('m still friends with my ex's) there were two girls i dated who had aspected my venus (their neptunes). and in both cases, i was deep in love with them but it turned to be an illusion by way of cheating and other forms of trickeration. i was bummed and thought it was more than it was. so as with all astrology aspects, as you know, there are two sides to it :)
@ Synastry Astrology: thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge I trust you know much more than me :) I did watch your video on Venus square mars because my mars tightly squares my crush’s Venus and it’s very frustrating but you mentioned you and your wife has this aspect. I tried looking for other aspects and his mars does conjunct my ascendant but I am not sure if he find me attractive the Venus square mars aspect is tricky because the timing is always off. Fortunately we do not have stressful hard aspects between our Venus and Neptune or Saturn respectively. Overall we have a lot of trines in our synastry. The only stressful ones with a tight degree orb is the mars square Venus and his sun square my ascendant which is a bit of a challenge. My Venus conjuncts his North Node very tightly which I read makes a lot of obstacles for people to come in Union and usually it doesn’t happen unless both Venus trine or sextile each other. My Venus does trine his Venus but it’s a wide trine around 5-6 degrees. This is a very tricky synastry which led me to pick a card tarot readings on TH-cam and eventually I learned to read cards myself. Many readers revealed this is a spiritual connection and his role was to help me awaken to my purpose to read the cards.
