Thanks Dave. This was great! I would love to see more deep dive tutorials. Your full edits are helpful as they show how to use TK9. But, the deep dives show the POWER of specific TK9 tools. As someone who has used TK9 in everyone of my edits for the last couple of years, I feel that I need to exploit these powerful gems of TK9. Keep up the great work.👋
It's a butterfly! One of the Blue or Azure species, of which there are many.
Thanks Robert for the ID.
Thanks Dave. The insect is a Common Blue Butterfly...
Yet another excellent video Dave. I will definitely be using this technique in my workflow. Thanks.
A great alternative to straight clone stamp, spot healing. Much more subtle. Thank you Dave!👍
This is really cool Dave. Such a necessary suite of tools. Will give it a shot! You have amazing content! Thank you!
Happiness is TK Friday! Kudos to Tony K for finally creating an easy to use Guided Frequency Separation workflow. And Kudos to Dave for explaining this workflow in an easy to understand tutorial. Thanks Dave!!!
Clearest explanation of FS I have seen. Great tool - any guidance on FS vs. the Remove/Heal tools?
This is wonderful! I had no idea. Thanks Dave!!
I have been using Tony's panel for many years and versions. I had been doing manual frequency separation and had no ideas that this was a feature! Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention. Makes life so much easier.
I, too, look forward to TK Friday and what your offering for the week is. You have given us, once again, a well explained and informative tutorial
This is interesting Dave, guess fa still works in this age with all the new tools that ps has now 😊
This tutorial is just fantastic, Dave! It goes straight into my "Specially good" TH-cam folder. Thank you ever so much for your weekly tutorials.
Great tutoral Dave. Thank you for explaining this feature in the TK9 panel. Very much appreciated.
It's great to know the power of FS in TK 9. It will take a lot of practice though, to understand controls and workflow of FS.
so glad I am able to use the DK15 and get 25% off.....I am taking the deep dive into using tk9 today. For the last 8 years I have dodging and burning without precision and this will make a huge impact getting more precise results without struggling.
I've used frequency separaton a fair amount, but this makes it so easy. Using it to reduce noise is new to me. Good stuff, keep it coming.
Thanks Dave that was an awesome tutorial - It is the first time that I have seen you use the TK9 plugin on a person. As a portrait photographer todays tutorial was really helpful.
Thanks Dave, very useful for faces, like you showed in the last part.
I look forward to every Friday to watch (and rewatch) your videos. This one was especially good, I never thought to use FS on anything but a portrait. Great work.
Outstanding Dave! I have many photos that are now begging to receive a TK9 Frequency Separation treatment in a manner you most clearly described and very ably applied. Thank you very much.
Thank you for this video Dave. I have been using frequency separation for awhile but I had not tried using the guided capability provided by TK9. This is just terrific as is your video here showing us how to use this portion of the panel. TK panel has to be one of the great photo editing bargains along with your tutorials.
thank you! Best explanation of FS that I've ever seen. Now, to go and try it, Thanks to you and Tony
Excellent demonstration.Thanks !
Very useful video Dave. More deep dives please (put on your wetsuit and aqualung 😊)
Very nice Dave!
Thank you very much Dave. Do you have exhausted my desire about FS. Best regards from Switzerland ! 👏👏
Great stuff Dave. Thanks.
thanks Dave... super👍
Excellent job!
Thanks
Thanks Dave for another tool in our belts. Will be practising this and will be using this on my bird photos. Curious to see how this will help with stitched panos with moving objects such as waves in my drone stitched panos.
Excellent video. It shows the potential of this technique in a broad way.
Do you think FS also might be a useful technique for restoring old photos?
Dave how do i get the workflow extra for the frequency seperation tab
Hi Dave, thanks for the new video. No pdf today?
I didn’t do a PDF because I thought the video would serve more as a guide.
Page 81 of the TK9 Instructions PDF has detailed information on Guided Frequency Separation that you might find useful, Peter. It's not like Dave's step-by-step instructions, but it goes over what each button does in detail: goodlight.us/writing/tk9/TK9-Instructions-Manual.pdf
Thanks... when I click start fs and then ok on Gaussian Blur I do not get a layer called 'texture repair' - what am I doing wrong?
ah - figured it out. The file type made the difference. I was editing a .dng. When I switched to a jpg it worked.
