I bought that thing a couple years ago, and I assumed it works from the bottom of the steps to the top like I always do.......and it doesn't work very well that way so I threw it in my tool box and never use it. Now I cant wait for the next stairs job. This looks great! Thank you

I can do 4 stairs with my kicker in less time than you do one with that tool. I suppose it would save your knees a bit. Most guys have a problem getting stairs tight with a kicker so I can see where this would help them.

How do you get ahold of Triforce stretchers?

  • @shannonward9489

Farther you will pull that to down the tighter the stay up Leggett take your left hand and push down on the tool then take the staple gun and shoot in between them two holes I have used one for many of years I ain't had no problems on any steps or any call backs whatsoever that is a good tool I have work for DNA flooring from South Carolina we're my boss is at now that is a good too when you pull down on it. Sounds like the carpet is ripping but it's not thank you

I use a small round nose upholstery hammer for creasing carpet and also rubbing it down on the tack strip. So much faster then the old tuckers . Trust me .

I've been using one of these for a while now, I suggest only going the width of the claw each time you move over. Also if you chisel the crotch and under the nose after setting, you get a little bonus stretch out if it. Great video!

My hip is gone from the jolt of kicking. Always looking for other ways . I use power stretcher all the time on rooms. I always find the carpet on stairs wrinkle the width way. That tool falls short on getting a side stretch.

Not good if you haven't got any spare for the job and you rip it though but does get it nice and tight . Personally I'd just pull the carpet down to the next step and push it under the nose at the same time with the stapler. Middle then both ends then staple the rest if you get what I mean

That's pretty cool. I always thought that tool was for the cap and band stair nosing as well and always thought it was a pointless tool. I might have to invest in one myself soon. Have you tried it with any really stiff carpets? Like the kind of softbac that is really stiff, heavy and borderline impossible to roll your edges on? That would be a huge selling point to me brother.

    • @davyoneshoe

I've had one for about 5 years it's pretty good on most carpets but you have careful with low pile carpets as it can slip if teeth don't catch.
