I truly think Daniel's Pass > Bruin is a completely underrated ride. Maybe I'm just spoiled, but currently enjoying it more than Jacks!

Wow not many cars at the Jack's lot. I remember when it was gravel and just 30 spots. I really dislike the bigger parking lot, it makes the trails more crowded.

I can definitely understand that. Luckily there are so many trails I think people disperse out pretty well. You still have to be mindful of course, but I've never been out there and felt like it was hiker after hiker after hiker. Much worse at Palmer Park or Ute in that aspect!

@@DownhillwithDeeO Well there weren't many hikers hiking up Jacks in 2013, now they love to hike it. Biking on Gold Camp is tough too, unless it's a weekday.

I swear stuff only happens when you forget something. I like the trails on that side of the canyon and honestly, all they need is a few more features sprinkled in to spice them up a little (saying that and then probably would chicken out hitting the new additions).

Always when you forget something, how it goes!
I can see that for sure, a few extra jumps scattered in but I really love that side of the Canyon. We need to do Mary Falls again, that one is sneaky good and riding along the creek in unmatched.

Nice to see my hometown trails with someone on a real mountain bike instead of someone riding their e bike illegally in the canyon. I ride hardtails, but curious about you bike. How much travel does it have front and rear, and do you think it climbs well. You obviously know that we have a lot of climbing in the springs. I like Sweetwater a lot. I broke my collarbone on that first rock garden on Daniel's a couple years ago in January, had to hike my way out in the snow and ice pushing my bike. The icy creek crossing was super sketchy on foot with one arm.

Yessir no motor for me! This bike is 170/170 with a 29 front wheel and 27.5 rear. It climbs well enough, and having the bigger travel and higher bottom bracket I clip and pedal strike less on this bike (YT Capra) vs my trail bike (Marin Rift Zone). The idea when buying this bike was the YT would be for the Canyon (I usually shuttle with a friend) and park days like Trestle. If I'm looking to really grind out climbs or ride somewhere more pedal heavy like Ute and Palmer Park, I'll ride the Marin which is a 29er and 140/125 travel.
Sheesh that's horrible, glad you made it out safely. Always a concern riding alone but hasn't been enough of a concern to stop me so far!

@@DownhillwithDeeO I love to ride with a friend or 2, but solo is nice too, lets you free your mind.
