Wow my friend! I was holding my breath lol! Beautiful views but Jessie made me nervous 😅 Thank you for sharing, can’t wait to get there next month. Love your videos.
thank you so much and I know! Going back and watching the videos I'm like "did we seriously do that?" It looks scarier from the outside. lol Thanks for watching!
My God you two are brave!! what an amazing adventure! I think I would have had white knuckles! lol! Such breathtaking views! thank you for sharing with us all
I certainly had white knuckles. I was plastered to the side of the mountain and ready to not go any further. Then these nonchalant Albanian guys came along and encouraged me to keep going. Their relaxed energy helped me to keep going. Jesse was fine. He was just worried about me lol
I'm genuinely surprised I didn't lol. And YES, it was so scary going down. When we were going up, I just didn't look down. When you're going down you have to!
This outing looks pretty awesome. A couple of questions: 1. How long and how much (Lek) was the taxi ride to/from the lake from Tirana? 2. No public buses, right? 3. A full-day's outing in your view? How much time to allot without rushing it? 4. Jesse's daypack (Albanian). Where did he buy it? How much? He's looking very GQ-ish with it:) Thanks so much!!
Great questions! 1) When I mapped out the ride on the Merr Taxi app it was about 3600 lek each way. But I know a local taxi driver that cut us a deal for 2000 each way. However the roads were bad for about half an hour (unpaved, fairly deep puddles) so he didn't want to drive back, so he just waited for us. He wasn't going to charge us any extra for that, but I had to give him more money for that, or I would've felt terrible. We had extra water and snacks we left with him lol. He was willing to wait as long as needed, like 5 hours. But since I felt bad that he was waiting, I told him to give us 3 hours. And it ended up taking us exactly 3 hours. We hiked from the parking area to the restaurant. Had a coffee. Hiked up to the scary/beautiful top. Looked around for maybe 25 mins or so then hiked all the way back to the taxi in exactly 3 hours. It was about 2.5k. 2) there are a couple of busses that go there. I didn't realize that. But we saw at least two of them take people all the way to the restaurant. It's impressive that they went up those hills. 3) yes, particularly when including the ride to/from Tirana. 5 to 6 hours is my estimate 4) haha, I'll tell him you said that! We got in in Kruje' at this awesome street market. We were surprised that it was such a great day pack. It was the perfect shape and held out water almost like a little cooler. I see similar ones for sale EVERYWHERE. So you will have no problem finding one. There are a lot of gift shops that sell traditional Albania looking things and touristy things. They all sell these bags. I think we paid around $25 if I remember correctly.
@ExpatSingleMom Thanks! Lots of good info and tips. How much do I owe you? lol Wonder how I'd find out more about the buses that go there from Tirana? Depature location, timings etc. Any ideas? Sounds like you found a very friendly and cooperative taxi driver -- suspect not so easy to find, especially given language barrier.
Very nice upload and sharing here
Keep it up see you soon thumbs up
Happy New Year 👉👉👍👍🤗🤗
Look at those mountains!
It was another world. Indescribably beautiful

Wow, that looked really scary. I am going to have to come into Tirana and do some hiking. That is an amazing trail. I'd be nervous, too.
It truly is amazing out there. I love it so much. I can't wait to see more. I love it here.
You are very brave I would have pooped myself! Was it more scary coming down than it was going up?

@ If you ever want to go on an easy hike and need company I would love to explore with you.
@ that’s sounds like a plan to me! I’m actually in the market for an easy hike. I’m not sure where to find one lol. But I’m sure there here somewhere
