Thank you for pointing out that the legs transformation is covered in the instruction manual. Got pretty annoyed of the other reviews missing that and complaining they got a defective toy when it is clearly in the instructions. Also some others complained about the "ugly backpack formed by the legs"? Did they even watch the show? Like you said, the Robot mode is pretty much EXACTLY like the CGI version...
As i said, i didn't really want to make it out like i was attacking others. But seriously, when the first half a dozen steps are literally the legs...it just says that some rushed their review and didn't pay much attention. If you're going to be one of the first to show off something, i feel you should at least take your time to get it right as much as possible. That said, everyone makes mistakes.
Totally agree. The funny thing is so far as I can tell the very first English language review posted to the TH-cams was from Rob A. He got everything right, the legs, backpack etc.Nice solid 30+ minute review. Then the 2nd and 3rd reviews posted a couple of hours later made the mistakes on the legs and called it out as a defect. Its very clear that both were gunning to have theirs posted first and as such made those mistakes and later posted correction vids. I think it is hilarious that neither them got their vid posted first anyways.
Oh and also you did make a small mistake yourself on Laser Shot B the parts that are on the side of the cheetah are meant to swing up and rotate to peg onto the top. Doesn't make it any easier for Cheetor to hold the weapon though.
just got mine in the mail! so appreciative of takara for bringing out masterpiece beast wars lately. I grew up with Beast Wars...not G1 unfortunately...so this is my G1. and I feel like a kid again with these new toys coming out!

They really knocked it out of the ball park with this figure, simply amazing! Recreating a perfect version of a CGI character is tricky to say the least, but they nailed it , almost perfect! His beast mode is very cool, but he shines in his robot mode for sure! One thing I found strange, you forgot to put Generations Rhinox in the team to compare the sizes! I would have loved seeing that, only one missing would have been Dinobot. Really hope they will be making many of the BW figures in the Masterpiece line, they're up to a great start with Optimus Primal and now Cheetor, awesome review!
Rattrap's was kind of out of scale on the show too, same with Tarantulus, Waspinator, Scorponok, Black Arachnia, Quickstrike, Rampage, Depth Charge, Airazor, and to a lesser extent Dinobot and Dinobot 2 (though common perception back then was that Velociraptors really were that big). I'm guessing the reasoning behind this is that their robot modes can only be compacted into their beast modes so much. They didn't really do a lot of mass shifting, like G1 Soundwave transforming from basically a thirty foot robot into a tape deck small enough to fit in Spike's hand.
I'd forgotten how ugly that generations Cheetor was in robot mode, so much so I bought an original Cheetus afterwards and eventually gave the other away. I just received this masterpiece version and I love how articulated and show-accurate he is. However, I think getting the original version some years ago was somehow just as satisfying.
I hope that Takara Tomy will be making more Beast Wars masterpiece such as Diver,Apache,Tasmanian Kid,Santon,Skywarp(an eagle),Lio Junior and even Galvatron(not a G1 reference).
I feel like they don't mention it in the instructions, but the removal of the cheetah head is definitely part of the transformation. Besides everything you've mentioned, the illustration kinda leaves it out in those steps

I really liked this figure *but* a couple of flaws I didn't care for (A) much as you did I noticed the problem with the whiskers right away and (B) The Hands. Now I know they are show accurate and Season One Cheetor did have somewhat creepy hands anyway (like Dinobot) and yet his guns only really seem to fit "properly" in the right hand (as far as I dared test it) and the thumbs made me very nervous. Overall though, he does look great and hopefully after Dinobot (fingers crossed he looks equally impressive) we can start getting some Predacons. Really looking forward to MP Tarantulas..

Wow, first up comparing it to a classics figure isn't really needed, the classics toys were new interpretations of the original bots. But wow this thing is amazing. I haven't been so hyped for the line releases since soundwave. The beast figures are great, and unlike the crappy shift in regular mp release designs I can't wait for dinobot
My only issue so far with the BW figures is accidentally scratching the faux fur/spots off when prying some parts apart. They're basically just wrapped decals are they not?
I think Tigertron would have to be a retool. He was always bigger in proportion to Cheetor. A possible repaint could be Tripredicus Agent (aka Ravage) although if they were to make Beast Wars Ravage show accurate, he would have to look like Cheetor and transform into a Cassette XD
Not only is Tigatron's beast mode larger than Cheetor, his bot mode is slightly taller than Optimus. I don't see any way of retooling Cheetor into Tigatron and having it be faithful. Takara will have to do an entire new mold that uses the same engineering as Cheetor.

There's a difference between an extensive retool, and two figures of entirely different heights. Cheetor only comes up to Tigatron's shoulder. An extensive retool won't be able to account for that. And I fully expect Dinobot to be around the same height as the top of Ironhide's chest, roughly.
How does he look next to Hot Rod? Hot Rod, Cheetor, Jazz and Prowl are m favorite Transformers and I wonder how the Beast Wars figures look next to the others.

Some recomendation for a cheetor who is really tight in his head? y can´t move his head up, when i do that i take his head off so, what can I do with that?
The beast mode looks terrible. I like the fur look and the head, but it looks messy and has too many bot parts exposed. I think they could have done better.

A Masterpiece Transmetals 2 Optimus Primal would be insane...ly expensive. IMO the transmetals wouldnt have the glaring issue of having weird looking beast forms. No need to try to hide every robot part and all that.

You're probably right, i however didn't practice transforming the gun as it's fairly pointless to me

I reserved mine as soon as he was announced but I am just patiently waiting for Dinobot to announced

About that translation... knowing how arrogant and condecending older Japanese can be twords their youth I believe that is a VERY direct translation.
I do recommend pulling off the cheetah head. it does mess up the wiskers.
