Ian Browning’s 1972 175bhp, 2-stroke, 4.8 litre Foden marine engine was essentially brand new when it was removed from a tug boat belonging to the New Zealand Navy.
As a diesel mechanic myself,I can appreciate your keeping a relic alive. Here in the States,it's getting hard to find mechanics who can set up 2 stroke Detroits to run properly. Getting injectors, rack and governor set properly is a form of art. Anyone not trained shouldn't bother trying. A runaway 2 stroke will scare the crap out of you. And without a governor you best bet would be run like hell. Read about Rudolph Diesel and his experience with no governor.
True gentleman and a genuine enthusiast when he says he will let the engine go to a deserving truck. Love you sir.

I can recall when growing up staying with rellies and hearing one of these every morning starting up, Foden log truck. Great, distinctive sound.
