Nobody has done more to reintroduce comedic ventriloquism back into popularity than Jeff Dunham. He's been at work doing this since around 1990, and yes, he's picked up a few admirers along the way, namely Terry Fator, and more recently, Darcy Lynn. I hope the three of them do a tour soon.
Eszra -- Yeah! They're like separate entities, in and of themselves! While watching a good show, especially where he gets several characters interacting at the same time... You almost forget that Mr. Dunham is even there! :-D
this was just really really good!!! Jeff can say things that would normally get him shot or his ass kicked ... or worse, slapped in the face... but when its through a vessel, eg. Walter ... The consequence is on the inanimate. So *H*(phlegm)*eff* has free reign to say whatever he likes ... without fear of consequence. It is amazing how easy it is to shift the focus of a human being into treating something inanimate as a real threat.
That's probably the easiest part of his job. Buy a puppet or dummy and keep a constant voice and character and you will see every time you do it folk will gravitate to the puppet just the same. But if you break character or voice then all bets are off, you will have broken the spell.
He really makes them all so darned funny it's near impossible to decide who get the most laughs. Walter is totally relatable and gets away with stuff none of the others can, but Achmed does too, but Achmed has always been a cartoon character not real like Walter's personality. And then there's Peanut, the total perv potty mouth that has to have Jose calm him down. The new guy Url, is doing pretty good too for the younger generation jokes. There are also a handful of dummies who came and went as Jeff never was able to keep their stuff going. No matter what, Jeff's non-stop success for over 30 years is outstanding and remarkable, if not miraculous.
I just got that ... Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes. If you won, Ed would show up at your door with a giant check and a bunch of balloons ... according to the commercials, anyway.
There was and there is great comediants nowadays. George Calin was amazing, Chris Rock is funny as hell, Fluffy keeps rocking with Martin, and Jeff made the list as one of the most talented Ventriloquists in the world. No doubt is one of the best comediants ever.
One of the guys said about Walter...arguing with a piece of wood , I don't think so. Walter is alive and kicking , thanks to Jeff. Walter plays an important part in making people laugh, and we all love him. Keep it up Walter and Jeff , you are a great team.
My impression is that Johnny Carson really liked Walter quite a bit! Peanut is wacky but the understated and crusty Walter is probably Jeff's most popular puppet now -- alternating with Achmed back and forth in the top spot. At any rate, I think Jeff was more welcome on The Tonight Show (with both Johnny and Leno) than Late Night. I never got the feeling Letterman warmed up to Dunham's act.
Jeff Dunham started podcasting last week. Theme: Interviewing successful people about "times I thought I'd failed". He started with his own story. Scouted by the Carson show nine times before making it. Finally debuted April 1990. 📺 Thirty years ago!
Carl Gustov I'm familiar with Triumph. While I like the Catskills attitude, I'm not sure his insults always strike home. But I can understand his appeal.
I just love the way Reba semi-glares at Walter after he said, "Aren't you the one who does those Thigh Master commercials?" She wasn't looking at Jeff but the smartass!
There is one school of thought that says she was just playing along with the bit, but it’s believable is he makes his alter egos, I can see her really getting annoyed at Walter
I wish I could live longer to meet Walter... I know Jeff has been Walter Voice but to me Walter who create memories for everyone... Stay Healthy as Always Jeff
Those two guys were literally rolling with laughter. I wish someone would post the whole episode. I never was able to see it orginally.
It's amazing how well formed Walters character is even in the early appearances. There must be a hidden side to Jeff thats coming out in Walter.
Jeff Dunham is a LIVING LEGEND!!!
“Look I got the brothers laughing and the cracker is pissed!”
3:06
Killed me
Same 😂
kruk, you were just arguing with a piece of wood....
but he's pissin me off.....priceless

Walter looks alot like Biden must be related. 🤔
Walter’s response to Sugar Ray Leonard at 1:39 always gets me 😂🤣😅
⁹sex. Movies
Love Walter, he's my favorite! Thanks Jeff, for so many years of laughter.....
Jeff gets to say what he wants and blames it on a log. Brilliant idea.
Aw shut the hell up.
He funny
That's the point of ventriloquism, the puppets can be used to get away with a whole lot more PIC stuff.
Walter is my favorite
I just love Walter.
He is like my dad.
Always grumpy but doesn’t know how funny things he says.
Same here
So basically Jeff roasted everyone but Walter was the man in charge 😁😁😁
I love how everyone gets mad at Walter and never look at Jeff! His puppets are just so real!
you look like walter
Eszra -- Yeah! They're like separate entities, in and of themselves! While watching a good show, especially where he gets several characters interacting at the same time... You almost forget that Mr. Dunham is even there! :-D
honestly I myself think he is alive.
this was just really really good!!!

Walter would make a great White House Press Secretary. That would be fun to watch.
Fuck yes.
He'd have each of the fake news reporters diving for the safe space.
Oh, Walter would make all these liberal media puppets suffer in White House!
Right, a dummy could replace the present dummy, Karine !
I love it! Walter rips on everyone. Even the late Johnny Carson.
Jeff has said that Walter was Carson's favorite of Jeff's characters.
How he actually makes you forget the PUPPET'S voice is really him... TALENT...
That's probably the easiest part of his job. Buy a puppet or dummy and keep a constant voice and character and you will see every time you do it folk will gravitate to the puppet just the same. But if you break character or voice then all bets are off, you will have broken the spell.
I can't believe that Jeff has been doing this for so long.
Those two black guys on the couch were having a roaring time.
Walter is the king of the burn
He isn’t the king of the burn, his is the burn!
The wooden Don Rickles
Master of the snappy comeback!
Nah, Walter is the prince of burn. Don Rickles is the king of burn.
Walter is no longer just a piece of wood. He has his own character with strings attached. He's a Superstar, thanks to Jeff.
They should do a roast
And invite Walter I swear
That’s gonna be brutal 😂😂😂😂😂
He’s the commander of roasts
4:14 Looooove Michael Irving. His laughter gives me life.
That moment when you realize you're threatening a puppet.
Brilliance, pure brilliance!
Jeff Dunham is the best one around! Keep on trucking , Jeff! The whole world needs a good laugh nowadays.
We all need to laugh at life, Jeff you add to the humor of everyday life.
Here from 2020.
We really need a fucking laugh now.
Walter might be the funniest out of all Jeff's puppets just because of how realistic he is
He really makes them all so darned funny it's near impossible to decide who get the most laughs. Walter is totally relatable and gets away with stuff none of the others can, but Achmed does too, but Achmed has always been a cartoon character not real like Walter's personality. And then there's Peanut, the total perv potty mouth that has to have Jose calm him down. 2:04 the way Jeff makes Walter look over like that makes it so damn funny to me! Hahaha. 😂
Yes it's so good!
He pay off my mortgage 😆
I keep watching over and over. This is the best of clips.👍😁😎
Imagine being roasted by a puppet on live television.
It'd be great.
I had no idea he had been around so long that he actually got to be on Johnny Carson. That's legend right there, for both of them. RIP Johnny.
Walter is the funniest puppet in Jeff Dunham's arsenal!
look how Walter was shaking his head after roasting Reba 😂
i love that jeff apologises like it wasn't him that just said it
True 😭😭🤣
Walter is right about what "NBC" stands for now.
Well u not funny
Jeff dunham's the best
“Don’t you have some envelopes to lick?” really cracked me up
I just got that ... Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes. If you won, Ed would show up at your door with a giant check and a bunch of balloons ... according to the commercials, anyway.
I keep forgetting they're just puppets and jefafa done-ham is the real savage

Oh I dunno, Fluffy is pretty damn funny too.
Gloria Ann Perry. George Carlin was GREAT
There was and there is great comediants nowadays. George Calin was amazing, Chris Rock is funny as hell, Fluffy keeps rocking with Martin, and Jeff made the list as one of the most talented Ventriloquists in the world. No doubt is one of the best comediants ever.
I love Walter he’s the best loo
If you really want to get insults at someone. Just call for Walter no-one does it BETTER!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😆😆😆😆👍👍👍
"300 million sperm and that's the one that got through" DAMN that's savage.
crazy how he brought them all to life
Walter has really softened over the years, back then he made Don Rickles look like a major sweetheart
Deplorable Veteran political correctness strikes again.
Oh, Rickles and Walter in an improv session would be pure gold
"This piece of wood is piecing me off"🤣🤣
"Pissing me off"
"Don't fuck with a puppet, Dick". Savage.
Jeff says that Dick Clark hit his head on the table, he was laughing so hard.
One of the guys said about Walter...arguing with a piece of wood , I don't think so. Walter is alive and kicking , thanks to Jeff. Walter plays an important part in making people laugh, and we all love him. Keep it up Walter and Jeff , you are a great team.
This was a real funny show here. I enjoyed it. Thanks! 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks! Appreciate it you all. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸😀🎱

Hahahaa! The Irvin "Dynomiite" gag is unbelievably funny!!! Nn repeat here
walter is the best
It is just incredible how Jeff gets by with all this through Walter. A million laughs. 🤩🤩🤩
I like the idea of Walter and Don Rickles on the same show. The ratings would go thermonuclear. Not to mention the jokes.
I would love to that dude. Don and Walter. That would be pure art. lol
What a funny little puppet I laughed so hard that my lollipop fell out of my mouth! Ha ha good show Walter!
Amazing what "Walter" can get away with.
Mark W freedom of speech 🙂
My impression is that Johnny Carson really liked Walter quite a bit!
Peanut is wacky but the understated and crusty Walter is probably Jeff's most popular puppet now -- alternating with Achmed back and forth in the top spot.
At any rate, I think Jeff was more welcome on The Tonight Show (with both Johnny and Leno) than Late Night. I never got the feeling Letterman warmed up to Dunham's act.
Must admit I’ve become a fan of Walter.
With Johnny Carson! Had no idea he'd been around that long.
Jeff Dunham started podcasting last week. Theme: Interviewing successful people about "times I thought I'd failed". He started with his own story. Scouted by the Carson show nine times before making it. Finally debuted April 1990. 📺 Thirty years ago!

WE WON
The most talented guy
Man
Jeff Dunham is mad funny
😂😂
Dunham is the best insult comic second only to Rickles. Only problem is we credit the puppets instead of him!
May I suggest you google and watch Triumph insult comic dog? It might change your mind
Carl Gustov I'm familiar with Triumph. While I like the Catskills attitude, I'm not sure his insults always strike home. But I can understand his appeal.
@@carlgustov7728 Just a douche; not funny.
Irvin looks like his about to fall on the floor laughing during the "DYNOMIIITE!!!" bit

Dave Schwartz Good. Good

Damn I didn't realize Jeff Dunham was around in the 90s
1962
Yeah, that's where I first saw him. Comic Strip Live was the first time I saw him and Walter. But he had been doing vent since he was a young kid.
In the 80s too I'll think
Nothing great happens overnight
I actually saw him live in college back in '93. Admission, was a can of soup to help local families for Christmas.
Jeff is such a genius man!
My god it keeps getting better! It is hysterical.!! That is greaat!
Damn! The wooden dummy is funnier than . . . everybody?
I have listened and laughed to this. More times than I can remember. And forwarded it many times to.
This great
Walter you always make me Laugh 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just love the way Reba semi-glares at Walter after he said, "Aren't you the one who does those Thigh Master commercials?"
She wasn't looking at Jeff but the smartass!
