    Hi Domenik, I really enjoyed this video and the way you presented it, it was nice to see you pouring a beer 🍺 for consuming during the making of the video, some people are far too serious and regimented about the way they present their videos, the fly itself looks fantastic, and I am going to tie some up and try them out for Grayling on my next trip, if I can find a blue thread like yours, I am sure our Scottish Grayling will love them, as will our Brown trout when our season starts up again in March, I really enjoy your website also, I have picked up lots of tips from watching and reading your stuff, thank you very much

    Interesting variation of a Frenchie, which I have a lot of success with as my go-to searching nymph. Can't wait to try this one out.

    • @Troutbitten
      @Troutbitten  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I would argue that it's a variation of a Pheasant Tail. The Frenchie is too. But the Frenchie platform ( the key elements) are bead, cdl tail, pheasant tail body and a flashy dubbed collar. That's the way I see it.

    • @themazamen
      @themazamen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Troutbitten good point. I always viewed the Frenchie as a naked bead head PTN that had a hot spot collar. So a PTN stripped of a wing case and legs, plus a hot spot. The ingredients themselves are interchangeable. I think we’re talking semantics here though. Either way, you got a cool fly there that I can’t wait to tie. Come to think of it, an interesting blog post might be a discussion on the fly pattern design tree. What defines an original pattern versus a variation and how many truly original patterns are there? Is the stimulator it’s own design or just a variation of the sofa pillow and is the sofa pillow just a variation of a trude style dry fly?

    I have a fly called the “government worker” but it doesn’t catch anything and is nearly impossible to remove from my leader once attached. I have another called the “union worker”, but it can only be used in a team of 3, even when a single fly is best. Finally, one of my best patterns is the “teleworker”, but it’s never there when I need it.
