Thank you! This video is so excellent. You've answered every single question I had. The 99s is still special in its own way.....but the 78 is the revision of every thing that could use improvement over 99s. The top heaviness of the 99s is solved by tire size, servo on axle and overall just a bit more sturdy driveline. I'm going to order a 78 now. It'll be mostly stock but to really enjoy it for what it is. My 99s has become... a longer wheelbase option for a low center of gravity modified truck. Great Video!
Thanks for the details, I like the way you find content that is different from the norm, and I agree with the suggestions for improvement you put forward.. 😊👍
For now I have not upgrade my mn78 so have no idea for the upgrade parts. The only I have on my mind right now, to increase a little bit lift maybe put spacer between the truss and the axle.
WPL needs to up the game, MN has taken it to another level. The new transmission go through screws is what I like the most. Pity about the tires, not much choice to upgrade unless you cut. Thank you.
Thanks alot man, I'm going brushless with a cheap 2208 1400kv outrunner motor, wanted to know the pinion gear size, so it's a 10t 0.6M? I was able to find one with a 3.17mm hole so it should be an easy swap!
It didn't go well. The 370 motor felt way more powerful, and was faster than the stock motor. When I ran it outside in grass, the stock motor climbed far better. The 370 motor actually stalled out. I think the 370 motor I purchased may have high rpm but low torque. Should I try a 35t motor? Is that considered high torque? Or do I need a 40t or higher?
That's very helpful. I ordered a 34t 370 motor. I hope to get similar results. If I don't, I'll have to figure out where to get the same motor you used
I have a mn82 and I recently bought the mn78, it hasn't arrived yet, so I have a question. I consider the modulation and torque of the MN82 to be adequate, but practically every review of the MN78 says that it is underpowered and the modulation is bad. Is this discrepancy real or does the MN78 just lacks power for being heavier than the MN82?
I just bought this model but I won't have it till March, can you point me in the right direction to buy a set of wheels and tires that will fit properly? I heard WPL C54 combo works fine. Excelente video mate thanks a lot
@@morrisrc oh sweet thank you very much : D edit, i forgot to mention, i have the motor lift plate things to raise it up about 2cm from the standard holes
I think it is closer to 1:12, The wheelbase of 1:1 jeep cherokee xj is 2,576mm as I see in google, if it is converted to 1:12 using model scale calculator the result is 214.66mm.
Bro, wala pang metal gearbox na pang mn78 ung the same sa stovk ng mn78. Meron nagupgrade pero gamit nila na gearbox ung pang wpl c34/c44. Meron sya sa shopee rbrc shop.
Sorry the caption in the subtitle is wrong. All motor gearbox there is 370 motor except the gearbox of MN78, it is 280 motor. Very slight difference in appearance but if you measure the diameter of the motor 280 motor is 1.2mm smaller than 370 motor. There difference is the 1st digit 3 and 2 and it is the diameter of the armature.
Yes bro its 280 motor, my caption in the subtitle is wrong and already put the correction in the description. Thank you also for correcting me. Are you planning also to upgrade your mn78?

Thank you bro
Great video. Thats all i needed about tires. Thank You!
Thank you also, bro
Very informative video! I might buy my own which will be my second rc from MN Models, my first one was the MN82.
What shocks would you recommend to get a small lift on the truck? Thank u for the detailed explanations so even idiots like me can understand!!

Big true, bro...

Thanks for this great video. I've just upgraded my motor to a 370, but i need to know, what is a "propeller gear"? I need to upgrade it?
The gear that driveshaft hold.
Fantastic. I actually have that arriving today. Metal gears for inside the gearbox. I may replace the drive shaft next

Mine I used 370 motor from wpl 2speed gearbox that has long shaft.
That's very helpful. I ordered a 34t 370 motor. I hope to get similar results. If I don't, I'll have to figure out where to get the same motor you used
are these batteries the same as an mn99??? they dont have the white 3pin connector the 99's use to charge, but the black connector looks the same
Yes bro it's a 3 pin SM connector.

The modulation of Mn82 is a little bit smoother than mn78.
Very informative! Thanks for the vid.!
Thanks bro

Yes, c54 wheel set woulb be fine or the mn injora. Do not exceed 70mm tire diameter unless you will trim the fender.
can the wpl 2 speed gearbox go into it easily or will there need to be a lot of cutting?
As of now I have no idea yet. When I got home I will try to fit the 2speed gearbox and update you.
@@morrisrc oh sweet thank you very much : D

Very good and informative.
Colega por favor me fala será que vende as peças de reposição se vinher a quebrar alguma ? Se tem a numeração das pessoas no manual ?
Very informative review thanks!! Thumbs up!!
Thanks bro
Wpl tire v1 is which model ?
For wpl c14/24
Nice video again
is the scale 1/12 accurate?i heard some say it was close to 1/16

Welcome bro, thank you also for watching.
Wow mukhang maganda nga yan!
Bili na hahahaha!
@@morrisrc di pa pala pwede kasi magpaparehistro pa ng sasakyan hahaha
Sir san po kaya makakabili ng metal gearbox if ever masira ung plastic gear??? Wala kasi akong mahanap sa shopee, more on MM99, WPL

nice review, bro! 👍🏻😀
i might pass on this one. i am not quite a fan of cherokee bodies.
hintayin ko ang running video mo nito 👍🏻😀
Thank bro
mechanical engineering kba? hehe ang lalim ng mga terms hehe pang machine design hehe
Hahahaha! Hindi bro. Avionics ako pero di ako napjnta sa aviation. Sa manufacturing ako napunta automotive electronics.
Take the stock esc stuff out and replace it wit one from a scx24 its so much better
Nice bro
Nice👍👍👍👍
370 ? Brushed motor you are sure?
As what I have seen all are 370 brushed motor, I don't see a brushless one.
What it is then?

@@morrisrc yes I will be doing a few things

What to upgrade? Well... it's an MN, so: *everything.*
Everything but the chassis and body😂
Us WPL Axle
Yes it can be but need to replace also the gearbox.

Yes, very good for a stock rc.
