Viktor, if you're reading this, we spoke around May 2020 in English. I have to applaud you for your skills. While I've been able to learn a bit of Russian, I'm nowhere near capable of going a full 20+ minute conversation. Eoin, if you're reading this, I'm super happy you got him on! I think I mentioned you could try to contact him on the 1st episode. I applaud you for bringing on such a worthy opponent to you in a beard-growing competition.
very interesting advice on optimizing the height of the pull, I've noticed I've begun pulling slower because I was trying to pull the bar lower. But apparently, the more optimal thing to do is just to focus on catching the bar faster.
Very interesting strength metrics. It was interesting to me, that he feels his mid back, is the limiting factor with his front squat. I definitely have a low front squat to back squat ratio - and it’s definitely my thoracic spine area that lets me down. I had been exclusively blaming my quads, as I can pull a lot more than my squats; but I should definitely be able to front squat a little more, when compared to my back squat. There’s a point at which my legs are driving my pelvis upwards, but rather than the bar going up, my mid back starts to round. If get to folded forward - I fail. I’ve been working on staying more generally vertical in the squat - but now I think I’ll add in some specific thoracic spine strengthening accessories, too.
@@sikastrength what kind of barbell rows do you prefer doing? the kind of body building style ones where its real slow and controlled with low weight or do you prefer the barbell rows from the ground with a heavier weight but more focused on strength
Do you think there’s an ideal height to weight ratio for jumping/sprinting (for parkour). My friend said that a weight in kg that’s 100 less than your height in cm is ideal for jumping and sprinting (so 84kg for someone who’s 184cm tall). What do you think about this and when do you think the power that more muscle provides isn’t worth its weight?
Really good work with these. You asked all the right questions things that we wouldn’t even think about, but it developed from the answers he gave for sure. It really helps to see how many different people have different strengths and weaknesses. Hearing from different world class lifters from different weight classes helps our understanding so much. Thanks a bunch. Ilya Illin would be awesome the guy is so humble everytime he opens his mouth is like gold.Hearing about how he deals with injuries would be beast or if he enjoyed or approached training would also be awesome. Or georgi Markov and the difference between the two weight classes he competed in his 165 snatch is probably the most beautiful lift I’ve seen online. Or if internal rivalry pushed him to greater hieghts. Azanidze would be cool to see how he structured his training and how he felt in his rivalry also with the lifters at the time and if he still lifts today. I feel like he would do it for you guys cuz he looks real earnest and if you talk to him about his lifting and his career it would be a real fire for him too and great for your audience. Probably a blast for you too as a coach and a lifter.
Nice Video, thanks for your insights Viktor. Maybe you could try getting Boady Santavy on for a Snatch analysis, got a very interesting and effective style.
would have been cool to hear about his front rack during the jerk. I know you guys have mentioned that you admire this aspect of his lifting, But all in all very interesting to hear how quickly he picked up the lifts.
Shout out to Getts for repping the Rasputin hairstyle in 2021, what a chad
He's on the hunt for some royal family
Omg what a video, as a totally unbiased assessment I believe the algorithm should show this to other people..
I see no bias at all in this comment
118 C&J at 14... and here I am feeling proud of my 100 clean at 40. Even his fecking gingerness is laughing it off 😐

Yeah that's crazy, I find it baffling how some of these guys aren't that far ahead in terms of strength
But they can do lifts I'd never imagine
Did I mention I fucking love those?

Barbell rows are the king for what you need
@@sikastrength I’ll definitely work some into training. I can see how they would help, not just here, but in a couple of areas. Thanks! 👍👍

There's 100% an ideal weight for power movements, people usually refer to it as power to weight ratio
