Hi Mari, This looks so yummy. Black beans are my favorite type of beans. This recipe is very similar to the New Orleans Cajun dish of red beans and rice. Very delicious too.😊
Wow! I so much enjoyed watching Mari. I don’t know that I have ever eaten a Brazilian dish. This looks amazing! The meat just fell apart, and the dish with the tomato in it is something I will try. I also enjoy hearing about the history of the dish and about your family. You explain what you’re doing really well. Thank you for sharing this dish with us! ❤. Merry Christmas!
Looks like a great dish!` I am definitely going to try the dish, especially the Farofa. I actually like keeping the brine after cooking the salt off the salted beef or fish. The salt brine is like a concentrate of the meat flavor, and I like using it to make many broths out of it.
Thank you Mari, I want some! I am thinking about making it for New Years. You can find salt beef in some of the Caribbean shops however, it is in a brine. It is normally soaked before adding it to stews but I was wondering if carne seca gives a texture element too, or perhaps it is salted but with other spices. I won’t be able to find the farofa but will boil some cassava and perhaps some add some tostones. Keep these recipes coming!
One of my favorite dishes! Watching this made my mouth water and also makes me want to make feijoada at home soon. I sometimes eat it with pickled onions and also with a side of stewed squash (like a kabocha squash). 😋
