TBH, I don't think it deserves the hate, or even "need a lesson in brevity". There are many "meme" games that do nothing. I like this format better; it clearly knows how silly it is, and I love the work put into it.
I think sunday stream chat only wants either of two things: meme vomit, or a game so bad they can completely tear into, and the game lends itself to neither of those. The weekdays vinny chat is usually calmer and things like that random romhack he just played get time to breathe instead of cries of skip pls lol.
The truth is that with this game I wanted to move away from slipping in obvious meme material like Megalovania and Sans imagery, instead trying to come up with more of my own material. When you're a solo developer, it's difficult to tell when your jokes and visual gags are going to be a hit or a miss. I really just go with what I personally would find funny, and that's always been the idea with these games.

I do wish now after Martinez retired that Nintendo would get more then one VA for the Mario cast because it's kinda boring and makes them less... hard to call them individual but still and with more VAs you can actually tell them apart too.

I just beat this today and I have to say it’s one of the best fangames I have ever played. It’s perfect and the gameplay is amazing, although there was a bit of a missed opportunity for a Wario Land 4 style escape sequence. Still, 10/10. This developer is going places.
