- Zion Williamson injured his knee while blowing out his shoe 34 seconds into UNC's win vs. Duke Wednesday night. Mike Krzyzewski and Roy Williams explain how that changed the dynamic of the game. Williamson has a mild knee sprain and his return date is unknown at this time.

I hope Zion Wiliamson fully recovers. I'm not a Duke fan, and saying that, I would never wish any basketball player to suffer any type of devastating injury although it's understandable that its part of the game. Watching Zion play this year, I've actually been pulling for Duke all season. He is a fun player to watch. Again, I wish him and his teammates well.

But I’ve seen guys like him play for so many years at the college level until they hear from NBA scouts and other players that they are an NBA prospect... He’s good no doubt,, but not that outstanding enough for people to pay $2600 to see play one game at Duke ....
And yes he is a one and done ... He’s definitely looking for that # 1 draft pick .. Like he’s been told and it’s been talked about on ESPN ... Only time will tell .... But he knew this after the Gonzaga game .....

Maybe if K had regular substitution patterns, his backups would not be so flustered. Broken record but K not developing his bench is most likely going to bite him in the butt once again. And, people seem to forget that Duke's freshman class was rated #1 in the country even before Zion finally committed. This team is stacked.

I think that this injury may have happened because of the POOR QUALITY of the tennis shoes that Zion was wearing. I can't believe it and if you see the video, you will see how that shoe dessintegrated like nothing. I think coach K should place some policies as of what the players should wear.

I’m not a duke fan or anything, in fact I don’t really like duke at the moment because I’m a Louisville fan, but Zion is the #1 NBA draft pick, and UNC fans are over here trying to say that it didn’t impact the game. I would get really pissed if UofL was in the same situation vs UK, and UK fans started saying that they would have won anyway.
Jsome 234 It absolutely does impact the game because Zion is a huge part of the team and he is stat wise the most productive player on Duke. And also Zion was supposed to be the one guarding Luke Maye. The game was like 2 UFC fighters fighting but one of them has a broken arm. That’s how I viewed the game.

Nike shoes are poor quality! I've always worn Adidas and Under Armour and bought my first pair of Nike just to be impressed at how poorly made they are in comparison to these two brands.
The company just needs to spend less money on marketing and more money on making better products.

It was the first play of the game. How did it ”change” it? UNC couldn't drop it in the ocean from three and Duke let them move the ball around and shoot layups all night. Thank goodness for Duke that UNC played as poorly as they did or it would have been much worse.
A couple of weeks ago his guard got hurt and they lost to Syracuse so I agree with others he needs to have his bench ready. Maybe this season the ACC won't be a dumpster fire in the tournament.
It changes alot, the game plan and preparation went down the drain, so there was no smart play or strategy, plus without zion the lost the most efficient guy on the court and the hardest players plus lack if inside presents without zion got exposed, it changed the whole game from tip

It merely exposed poor coaching and preparation on Duke's part which you wouldn't have seen had Zion not been injured. So there was not a change because that lack of a "plan B" existed even with Zion in the game. You just saw it when he went down. The more I watch the highlights the more I realized that Zion presence most likely wouldn't have changed the outcome because it really boiled down to Carolina's ball movement. Yes, the game may have been closer, but UNC executed whereas Duke did not. Again, I believe that is lack of proper preparation on Duke's part.
