Thanks so much for making this video. Very concise and thorough. The pi website with the 45 second video didn't make it clear enough for me and I kept doing it wrong.
I am currently working on a project with LE Potato and am hoping this process works with non-Raspberry Pi SBC's as well. Have you put the OS on any other SBC's? I am only looking to emulate the SNES and NES systems. My only concern is the SBC I am using has 2GB of ram
In the off chance ya see this I was curious, do I have to put it on the SD card if I bought an SD card with Raspberry Pi OS already on it? It's a silly question it's just I've encountered an issue where if I don't see a greenlight flashing on the box it means that the SD card is either faulty or improperly flashed. And I don't want to get into an issue with Vilros over my own ignorance. Thanks and God bless ya man
Just saw this. Unfortunately, in my experience, the pre-formatted cards you can buy with Raspbian / Raspberry Pi OS already on them are hit and miss as to if they actually boot. I usually have to format and reinstall when using those cards.
Instead of using the imager, we could just download the os of choice and use etcher right? This is also the first time I've heard about needing to create a text file to use wifi. Doesn't it just ask for the network wifi password when first starting up?
If you are using Raspberry Pi Desktop, then yes, the first run wizard will take care of that. If you are running headless, or chose the option in Raspberry Pi Imager to disable the first run wizard, then setting up Wifi and SSH via the advanced settings menu, is the best way to enable those features. Thanks for watching!
when I try to erase my SD installer says: Error running fat32format. when I try to use SD without erasing it gives write to SD error. how to fix this. I have 128GB SD card.
That is definitely not supposed to happen. I've never had that happen after flashing a card before. I would make sure your windows install and all USB drivers are up to date. Then update RPi Imager if it's out of date and try again.
After I erase the SD card and proceed to write the OS on to the card, it says “Writing…0%” for about two minutes, then says “Error writing to storage”. I’ve tried 3 different SD cards. What am I doing wrong?
Okay, i don't know if its the laptop i tried flashing it on or if the video is out of date but now it's working worse than before. I cant even update it, it just spews out errors.
Great video man! Thank you so much instant like and sub 💯👍
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words!
Ditto, Mateo! Thanks, Mr. Maker.

My question is I probably won't need a large size SD card unless I want to build a gaming machine, right?

When my family moves into a new house and has the internet set up, I'll be connecting a PiHole to the router. This'll definitely help in the process.

@@gasmonkey1000 No worries, I flash Pi's a few times a month, so when I saw your comment, I had to check for myself.
Fantastic video, subbed and will likely ask lots of questions (if you reply to this one lol)
Liked and subbed 👍

BRUH CAN I HAVE A VIDEO LINK FOR HEADLESS SETUP
ctrl shift s does not work
I really dislike the "please like and subscribe" kind of thing, but in this instance I did without hesitation. Absolutely great tutorial. Grand job!
I just flash it with the ISO on balenaetcher, faster
Also left the wireless LAN country as Great Britain, but that's okay.,
Not download now
It’s the little smile at the end for me!! Absolutely precious 🩷
What if the target device selector does not include the intended SD card?
