lol I love claire saying that "she's so cheeky for a commoner" (#9), it's the name of the spinoff of the LN, that follows claire's perspective. it also has a lot of explanations and different plots with characters that don't necessarily impact the main story
Your discussion about the themes of the show at the end was really good to hear. 🎶This show talks about lesbian and bisexual identities way more explicitly than most other yuri (most don't even acknowledge there's a difference at all) and future volumes get more into that as well as other LGBT issues. It was interesting to hear you both talk about how you related to what they characters experienced. Goddd there's future developments I wanna talk about SO BAD but I won't post spoilers. Guess I should hop on a forum instead.
42:35 As a manga and novel reader i can assure you that this moment shows up, and it's actually so well written how Claire reacts to all the information that surprised me. I really hope there will be other seasons, because their story and development is something everyone should watch. And i want to thank you too for this reacts, i was searching any channel that would react to this anime, but not just watch and laugh, you know? I wanted people who could see underneath the comedy and actually talk about the sensitive topics, like the homophobia part with Misha and the enlightenment about the difference between lesbian/bisexual. This show is so much more than "please bully me" and your discussion about it was on point. For sure I'll be a subscriber for now on!
Awww that means a lot that you were looking for videos like ours. ❤ This anime tells such a special story and has really meant a lot to us. Thanks for subscribing. 😀
OMG YAY The diary entries are so cute, its so nice getting a tiny recap with Claires thoughts. And the songgggs!!!!!!! God I love them, and the fact their VAs sang them? its so cute
So there's a separate manga that's a Claire pov version of the story which seems to be the inspiration for Claire's diary and there's a cooking manga where Rae Claire and lene just spend time cooking together.
Claire thoughts was wonderfull ( a bit of a trip down memory lane kind of thing , you know..?) You know rae keep making sure that claire "not give up" I think it has something to do with what will happen in the future, and the only way for claire to be saved is part of it is that she should not give up , when things looks bad for her... but I could be wrong.. and one more thing, i wonder , will rae tell claire that rae is from another world one day , or will she take this secret to her grave..? and also the opening was so catchy ( it did not leave my mind !😊🎧🎵) and all the ending ver, was all great..!
Yes, definitely a fun trip down memory lane. That will definitely be interesting to see why Rae told her that. They did so much with the music of this amime!
I'm so glad we're here, enjoying this. As much as I enjoyed sapphic media in the past, this series, light novel and all, kicked off a recent binge for me where I ended up reading and watching a bunch more titles I hadn't previously done, only two of which had anime adaptations. I haven't read so much in a single week in a long, long time. haha Other works I found myself enjoying include "Mage & Demon Queen," "Please Bully Me, Miss Villainess," "Bloom Into You" (the anime is nice, but ends in a stupid place with no second season but a completed manga), and "Vampeerz." I almost took a liking to the anime adaptation of "Magical Revolution," but just couldn't, personally (I know some people liked it). If you're into some reading material, even ongoing stories, then any of those first four I mentioned are good. The manga for "I'm in Love with the Villainess" is also good, if ongoing as it's about a third of the way into the second light novel volume.
The Bloom Into You anime only covers the first 24 chapters (begining of volume 5). The manga for Bloom Into You is complete; 45 chapters, with the main characters story reaching its climax in volume 8. In addition to the main story there are 2 extra manga volumes containing short stories and 3 book spin-off short novels.
I desperatly want a season 2, so much stuff is left Oh and the author is actually continuing the seires as well A new story based in the same world but a different main character other then rae, i shan't say whom for that is spoilers :3, oh and a 10 year gap, its so lovely seeing em ride the success and continuing this (also my one of my best buds bought me an english translation from inori's fan box so im a happy gremlin) If anyone is intrested, be warned You gotta read the light/web novel first cause, well its a continuation kinda expected, jingletranslation has the whole thing translated to english (well sorta details details)
I hope you have plans to watch "The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady" and when it comes out, "Please Bully Me, Miss Villainess!"
This may be a spoiler for LN2, but: Rae doesn't tell Claire that she's a video game character; instead, she told her that she's a character in the "Book Of Prophecies" to avoid freaking her out.
Here's something that's been bothering me. Rae keeps saying she knows *everything* about the game and *everything* about Miss Claire. So, why wouldn't she know that Miss Claire likes girls, or that she even *could* like them? She keeps saying the reason she and Miss Claire can't be together is because they're both girls; but unless Rae's presence in the game really *did* turn Miss Claire into a love interest, changing her orientation as it were, she should have known that Miss Claire was not, strictly speaking, straight. I think there's more to it. I think Rae had played the game so often and in so many different ways because she was looking for a way to "stop the tragedy", like she said at the end of episode 12. I think, in the course of playing it so many times, she *did* find a way to make Miss Claire a "romanceable character", probably through some mod or something, but doing so somehow guarantees Miss Claire gets targeted in the Revolution. So, now that Rae's in the game itself, she's trying to avoid *seriously* pursuing Miss Claire, not because Miss Claire's not open to dating girls or because she'll be happier with someone else, but because if they do get together, it'll just put her in even more danger. Of course, she couldn't tell anyone in the game that, so she just has to keep saying "We can't be together because we're both girls", even though that didn't stop Manaria from (supposedly) pursuing her, and even though Miss Claire didn't say "There's no point in fighting over me because I'm not going to marry either one of you", or something like that. It's a complicated theory, but now that this season is over, I'm going to read the light novels and see if there's any truth to it.
@@jenninkb Rae's something of an "unreliable narrator", as they say. She tells the audience a bunch of stuff about the setting as well as the people, but there have been a couple of times when she's held back information that could lead to spoilers (like about Lene and Lambert, for example). I'm starting to get the impression that every time the dialogue pauses and Rae's voiceover *doesn't* happen, it's because there's missing information we're not supposed to have yet.
