Thanks Heinz, I'm glad you like it! If you want to know more on this topic, you might read my recent book "A short guide to risk appetite", published by Gower in 2012. Details are in the Publications area of the Risk Doctor website. You can also find a full one-hour webinar and several papers on risk appetite freely accessible on the website.
Thanks for this positive feedback, glad you liked this one. I don't usually do videos on demand, but we record occasions where I'm already speaking at a conference or seminar. This means it's unlikely that I'll be covering your suggested topic in the near future, sorry.
Thanks for this positive feedback Jose. I'm glad you found this video helpful. If you're interested in finding out more about managing risk, there is a series of Risk Doctor Briefings freely available on the RD website (www.risk-doctor.com/briefings) and they are all translated into Spanish!
Thanks for this suggestion Litty. I'm not an expert in healthcare risk management, so I can't do this, sorry. Also the videos posted here are intended to be generic - useful to everyone! Sorry that I can't be more helpful in meeting your specific request.
Hi Risk Doctor, I was wondering how you believe a university student who wants to get into risk management can best differentiate himself from other students applying for the same job. I am currently second year and have applied for internships in risk management, I was wondering what else I could do, and some key skills or attitudes I should work on develop to allow myself the best chance of successfully getting into, and performing to a high standard in this career. Thank you for all the free information you put out, it's invaluable.
Hi. I'm pleased to hear that you're interested in a career in risk management. Internships are good, but they are hard to get into. You need first to think about what type of risk management interests you - there are many different aspects. You might pursue project risk management, or financial risk, reputation, environmental, business continuity, insurance etc. This decision will influence your next step. Once you've made that decision you should look for an "ordinary" job in that field, so that you understand the drivers of risk in that particular domain. Then help your colleagues to identify and manage risk in that area, before aiming for a specialist risk role. I hope this is helpful, and I wish you success in your future career.
I love your delivery . Simple yet full of insights.
Thanks Brian, that's very encouragig to hear.
