I can’t get enough of this version. It gives me as many thrills as the first time I heard it. The “jam, as you call it, takes my freakin breath away and I’m 73. So happy to know it is passing on to your generation with such exhilaration.
Love your reaction. Your comment ‘ little things make all the difference with the great singers of all time’ made me so happy. Freddie lived the music … he wasn’t simply a great actor. I get emotional with certain songs and this is at the top of the list. Goosebumps and chills ♥️
I was at this concert with my wife Julie (John’s sister )and John’s mum. We got a lot of strange look’s going to our seats in the balcony as not many middle-age ladies go to rock concerts!
This is my favorite performance of this song. Everyone showed up with their "A Game." I am always mind blown that this is actually live. Brian May writes the most beautiful songs! I love this one so much. This song is about a girl in one of Brian's classes that he was very interested in dating, but just couldn't muster the courage to ask her out . By the time he finally did, she was already with someone else.
HEYYYY.... THANK YOU for reacting to this GREAT Queen/Freddie performance! I ALWAYS appreciate your reactions, and this performance is one of my top favorites!
Finally, the Sandman--master of puppets, maestro of musicolology, grand wizard of compositional analysis, blessed with heightened musical perception--sinks his teeth into one the all-time great Queen live performances!
One of my favorite live performances by Queen! Gives me a Tolkien vibe .. very mystical yet magical. Good ‘ol Brian is a great storyteller in his writing!! Yes, it’s about a crush he had on a girl in his college Biology class! Brian never got the courage to approach her but later admitted they did become good friends! 🧝🏻♀️🌙🌟⭐️💫✨☀️
What a performance 😍 and this song is kind of melancholic and ethereal at the same time... it sounds so otherworldly, I love it. Beautiful reaction and analysis, thank you!
This is one of my favorites - absolutely mesmerizing! The guitar/ piano solo reminds me of what was called “psychedelic music” back in the day. Thanks so much for your Queen reactions! Your reactions are outstanding and always give me insights to consider. 💛💜👑👑💜💛😊
Was going to suggest this live version had you not already listened! It sends chills down my spine every time. That jam sesh… it’s otherworldly. Freddie’s vocals are breathtaking.
Awesome reaction, I really enjoy the appreciation and the understanding that you have for the music! You are one of the best reactors. This performance is definitely a favourite for Queen fans, it is better then the studio version. The studio version does not have the piano. Every version is different, this version is different from the Rainbow one. The studio version is really great as well. Another song from this concert that is really great with a great performance is Ogre Battle and the medley at this concert is also fun, it includes Bohemian Rhapsody (performed for the first time), Killer Queen, March Of The Black Queen, Bring Back That Leroy Brown. Another song which I think you would really enjoy is Innuendo. The difference is that the song is from 1991, the very last album when Freddie Mercury was still alive. It is a great and really epic progressive rock song. You are right, the style Brian May uses on this song, is somewhat similar to David Gilmore. The interesting aspect about this show is that it was broadcasted on BBC as a Christmas special. The concert is a prize that Queen won. One of popular music magazines, held a poll asking readers to choice the best live band, Queen won the poll and this concert was their prize. It worked out perfectly, because at this same Bohemian Rhapsody had just no.1 on the charts.
Can't Get Enough of your reactions! The way you express your thoughts and opinions and go a little bit into the technical side of things really make you one of my fav Queen reactors! This performance is regarded highly in the Queen community , for good reasons! This is band on their A- Game One of my fav Brian May song , If only other reactors gave this song as much love as you do :( It's time you react to the studio version! Brian uses his old Hallfredh Guitar on the studio version, since you mentioned in the previous videos that u like the sound of that guitar , I think you'll love the studio version!
Absolutely great reaction!!!
Best version.
The word you’re looking for is Speechless!
Four musical geniuses. QUEEN ❤️
Great reaction thank you. This is a masterpiece 👏👏👏👏
This is without a doubt my favorite Queen song. Specifically this performance. It's far, far better than the show at the Rainbow.
Greatness ❤

This song is poetry written by Brian and it washes over you with the piano/guitar solo.
This is real live music. No back ups, No click tracks ,no synthesizer just the greatest rock band ever.
This performance is a masterpiece 🎤🎹🎸🥁❤️

That’s absolutely amazing I remember you mentioning it in a previous video, maybe this was the same concert?
@@mindofsandman5283 Yes, it must have been! It was a great show - I think it was when I realised that Queen were going to be huge…
Wow 🤩 my favorite song of Freddie's in the 70s❤️ liked subscribed 😁 beautiful sweet Freddie ❤️

Hahaha, if only it were half true ! The last part is 100% though!
This performance is so different than the original recording off of Queen 2.

Written by Brian about a girl he had a crush on and was too shy to ask her out. He finally asks her out but is too late.
Wow haha if only she knew what she missed out on
