- Michael Rutter talks Isle of Man and the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT
Michael Rutter is a racing legend. A 30-year racing career has seen him earn six Isle of Man TT wins, 28 victories in British Superbikes and is the most successful Macau Grand Prix winner with eight successes. Now running and racing his own Superstock 1000 team, Rutter combines this with testing motorcycles for British magazine, Performance Bikes. In terms of experience and getting the most from a machine on roads and track, there are few better men.
So, when it came to quantify the credentials of the new KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT ahead of its release at the end of 2018, KTM handed Michael the keys and put him on a ferry from mainland Britain to the Isle of Man. The result of the ride can be seen in this epic new video.

How many times are you going to show the same video. The bike is pig ugly. Very disappointed with what KTM have put forward as the new 1290 Super Duke GT, it could have been so much better. Its something only a mother could love. After having a 2017 1290 Super Duke R (gorgeous), I'm pleased I didn't wait for the new GT and I'm happy I bought the 2018 1290 Super Adventure S instead (which is absolutely stunning BTW). Each to their own, but I'll not be buying one of those...
You made a smart move. I was KTM loyal for 7 years and sold my 17GT after 3 months. I have owned a few. Not sure how your service is where you are but that was a factor as well. Highly overrated bike, scratched easily, power was boring from the R.
So happy with my new machine.
