- Hi guys! Another busy and fun week here at CWMC HQ! Tom and I got busy on the 1959 Buick project, and we'll have a look at how I converted a sedan door to work on the flat-top! A quick Renault 5 update, and then we're back at the GCFCE to see if Dan's 1953 Olds can be made to run on its own fuel supply, and a midnight test drive ensues! Finally, Agent 8771 took the 1966 Suzuki S-32 on a 400km rally and got us a few clips...
Calendars are sold out; thanks so much to everyone who ordered one... they are all shipped now, so watch the mail!
Oh! I do not have a Telegram account or any bullshit contest going! Do not respond to any of these "contest winner" replies; they are a scam.

Man! I love the color of that Olds!
That olds is AWESOME!
Awesome last show for 2023.
@26:57 I hit the ole-like button for Dan.
Tom: No swearing!
Also Tom: It’s FUCKT
😂
Tom's laughter is infectious. You are beyond blessed to have him as a neighbor
IT'S A RUNNER!
Tom actually working, you gotta get video of that. It doesn't happen often.
HAPPY 2024, CANADA!
50:45 - Why I couldn’t have a TH-cam channel, it’d be an entire hour of this.
The magical intro alone made my Saturday, thank you. I do not want to know how you did it😂🙈🙉🙊
I can see it now, Dean Dean the dancing machine on a new Gong Show.
Best intro yet!!
Tom is worth his weight in gold! Happy New Year, Scott and everyone at CWM!
Your lady friend is a good egg to hang out for door puzzles and laugh at Tom's jokes. Cheers!
SAturdays Feature !!!
Thank you for the video
The Olds is a Beauty !!!
If that Olds were mine, I would be Gollum... Mine, mine, my little precious.. She is a sweetheart.
Great episode! I especially enjoyed the "losing it" portion of the door swap. But... you have to stop showing those small old bikes... you're giving me ideas that will only lead to madness. Cheers
Frankers 🐶💖 IMMEDIATELY understood , milkbone 😅
It's fascinating seeing how
Similar each of those Buick
doors , really are
I've always been interested
in , what the actual subtle differences were
Outstanding diagnostic skills ,
Scott !!
Who would have thought ,
That pressed fit was causing ,
The piston restriction
Outstanding , seeing Dan's
53 Oldsmobile holiday hardtop ,
Mobile again !!
19:19 The correct technical term for a fuzzy microphone cover is a _"Dead Cat"_ ... so Tiger wants to swat the Dead Cat hanging off your camera.
Imagine the guys at the factory 🏭 seeing this on the doors all these years later hey he worked out our secret on our doors boys 🤦🏼👍🏻🇦🇺.
Good to see that door fits the Buick.. and .. That Big Olds.. SOOOO Cool.. That car has some great potential.. Tune up and Exhaust.. and some " Scott Special Paint Matching".. going to be Awesome..
Best channel ever cheers
Buicks were overbuilt, but that’s what made them great cars.
Loved mounting the calendar on the refrigerator door...and surprisingly she who must be obeyed :) has not said anything. I will take the silence for tacit approval. Happy New year guys..
Love the patched together tow truck!
The color on that olds.....Mphhh! such a nice color, such a nice car. It needs a full on. ...and "Ya gotta grind a 1/4 inch off of this door" - Tom 12/22/23 ....still has me dead. lol
Big ❤😂for the Towttuck and Tractor + Trailer miniature work 👍
The OLDS sounds like CHRISTINE when she was coming back into the garage after burning in the gas station incident!😁 love that!
A real “Stall 20!” moment. 😃
Christine's evil step sister has come out to play.
It really is👌
That was an awesome but erie scene and that exhaust leak just really made it!!!!!
Dear @genehasenbuhler2594
👍👌👏 Exactly what I thought instantly too! Additionally: The one functioning reverse light almost made me shiver. 2) Happy new year!
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
I'm glad to see that both your '59 Buick and Dan's '53 Olds are coming along. I keep forgetting that you're a full generation younger than Tom & I are, so when he asked if you'd remembered Chuck Barris and the "Gong Show" of the mid '70's and you said "No" It surprised me a bit. That show was what the past generation defined as "campy". There was a sort of corniness about it. It was so bad it actually became funny. It was a kind of "America's Got "No" Talent" variety show that highlighted people doing tricks that often failed, telling lousy jokes, singing off key, slipping while dancing and occasionally doing something right. When Chuck Barris introduced them and let them do their "schtick" the clock would run for about 60 to 90 seconds but if by the first 45 seconds the amateur entertainers bombed, Barris would hit a Gong and a long cane would come out from the side of the stage and yank these losers off the stage. The show lasted about 3-4 years and actually had a cult following.
I went to see the taping of the GONG show in Hollywood
2002's Confessions of a Dangerous Mind about Chuck Barris is a must watch.
I'm 53, & I remember the gong show, classic!!!
Chucky Baby Chucky Baby!
We had a neighbor two doors down that made it on the show. It didn’t go well and they were gonged if I recall. Lol
Killer intro!
Love the tow truck in the opening scenes.
LOL Tom is helping!??!?!
Door adjustments are so much of a pain but once you've got it, it's very rewarding !
As per Tom’s story about getting hurt at work. When I started work as an electrician in 1985 our safety policy was don’t get hurt. And if you did, lie.
Diggin that 61 Chevy in the intro
I drooled a little. 🤤
Tom is a national treasure! ❤ Happy New Year, agents.
Happy new year from me and Frankers!
The Buick, (founded by David Dunbar Buick), is looking good.
Was that Dean's Greasy Flip car lot in the opening? Tom is a man of culture to have watched The Gong Show, I also watched it, but it didn't last long.
When I watch these videos, I fully expect a shit show. It seems that Frankers is always expecting it as well. That Olds is amazing. Nice job, Dan. Always nice to see Tom the walking Gong Show. The stories he can tell. Love that guy! Thanks for the weekly entertainment. Cheers!
awesome olds
Those old honda 4 strokes go forever
What a great show...the Olds the buick..dig it..
That 1953 Oldsmobile 98 is a beautiful car. Dan did a great job getting it running and driving. It looks Much nicer than the 1950 Oldsmobile my Dad had as the family car when I was just a boy. That car was built in 1950 just like me lol. My Dad had a 1937 Buick when he was 19 and heading off to WW2 in Europe. I still have a photo of him leaning over the hood. All great memories you brought back to me. Thanks for the video.
As Murphy said, nothing is as simple as you think it will be.
The baritone rythm of "these stupid fuckin'" with Tom's wheezing laugh could be overdubbed to sound like the beginning of "Jump Around" lmao
Another vivid, splendid 1/24th scale intro by Kyle. Hearing the audio of Dan’s Holiday 98 warms the heart…what a jewel! The work on the Buick’s rear passenger door modifications are both extensive and intense. I suspect that Buick’s engineers never expected anybody- except CWM’s master alchemists - would ever undertake such a task 60+ years after the Buick rolled off of Flint’s assembly line. More good works, gents!👍
Such an incredible joy to see that wonderful old Olds come roaring back to life!!! EXCELLENT JOB!!
Hey Tom, I remember Chuck Barris and the original Gong Show! Dang, am I that old?
Happy New Year everyone!
You are and so am I because I watched it too
I like the Olds, one of the first really modern cars, and beateful. Good camerawork on the Buickdoor by the blonde in the black hat, super. Cheers.
Not so sure about the camera work...
If Dan can get the lights to work he's going to have a tough winter beater contender😊
An unbeaten winter beater?
Classic Tom, great work around with the brakes. Olds sounding mean! New engine sounds for the intro video..
Much work on the door- but it's on! What a job!
Years ago, bought a '62 Country Sedan (6 & OD) punched in the passenger doors at some point. Paid... $400? Drove it home.
Bought two doors off a '62 Galaxie at pick part. White. Used a jack & lumber to push the door jamb out. The door window frames UNBOLTED! Took off the sedan frame & glass, bolted on the wagon frame and glass, and removed the thick Galaxie door trim, leaving the thin stainless inner piece.
A paintless bolt on repair.
Unfortunately, traded it for a completely worn out '56 Ford short bed pickup.
Happy New year!
Bonus point ✌🏻
No swearing!!😂 That's what made the door fit better! Love seeing Tom around helping out. Interesting that the Olds and the Buick aren't that far apart in age but the styling is quite different. Happy New Year to you and the Agents! Hi Frankers!!
I was laughing pretty well when Scott got Tom laughing about his swearing for a change.
Tell Tom I used to sell Xerox copiers to Chuck Barris Productions in Hollywood. If he thought the show was outrageous, you should have seen what the auditions were like. The stuff that they couldnt put on was unreal
Their decendents run governments today.....

Part of Tom’s charm is that he’s easily amused.
A lot of door-king around for that Buick.
Huge Olds fan, I’ve owned nearly every year from 1950-‘72. A ‘53 98 brought me home from the hospital. It was also one of the first cars I owned when I turned 16. Great memories, I can smell that old girl down here in Wisconsin. It’s calling my name…
I have never seen an Olds of this vintage as a hardtop. Pretty cool-looking car once it's done.
The opening of the show with the model cars are really well done and nicely edited. Also enjoy when you put in yourself and the agents jammin...and the rest of the show is always enjoyable too.
Happy new year to the CWM agents!🎉
Adjusting the door and a lot of cursing: That happens when you work on cars.
A friend whose DS we fixed up told me: "When I entered you body shop I heard you and your Dad through the entire shop cursing non stop. You had a Hell of a time lifting and adjusting parts of another car that would not fit no matter what". The first thing I learned working on cars was to curse a lot!
Love the Oldsmobile very much. There will be a lot of work required to restore it.
Scott, was watching some old vids of yours. Five years back. Pretty funny. Crap camera work and all. You looked so much younger. Didn't we all ! It was the one were you hit 20k subscribers and you dropped the volvo at Clayton's. You should go get that 53 Meteor. It looked pretty complete and needed a home. It's probably still there and deserves saving. I'm one of those wierd guys who likes the 58 Olds and Buicks. I used a 58 Buick grill on my 47 Merc and get lots of compliments on it . 👊😎👍
I have to say that the stop motion animation this time is above and beyond. The tow truck dropping off behind the transport truck was epic. So was the condition of the Blue VW in front of the repair shop. Greatly pleased with this one. A big thank you.
Glad you liked it... Happy new year from me and Frankers!
Tom and yourself make a great team! Happy New Year Scott and agents!
Sort of a dejavu.. that door job. I made a Hardtop door to my SC/Rambler replica out of Rambler American 2d Sedan door. Some welding, some drilling and modifying brackets. Happy new year and new projects... to all ya folks...
I’m going to convert a sedan door into a hard top door said no sane man ever! 😮
Nice work! 🎉
Absolutely. Fitted a saloon door from a scrapyard to my coupe. Didn't realise that the A pillar angle at the windshield was different until I tested closing the door......
I could not believe how quickly this episode flew by. Thank you Scott for the hours you do editing and uploading this every week. Happy New Year! My CWM calendar comes into play in less than 31 hours! 😁
The punch line is that the Olds has mudflaps! Five stars.
Fine work on that door
It was so great to see Tom getting into the door with a screwdriver and cracking jokes! I think if so inclined, a machinist could bore out the bleeder hole and silver braze a bushing in its place that one could cut to whatever thread pitch and diameter matches a stock bleeder screw. I've had some success with that method with other repairs in the past like wallered balljoint tapers in control arms and such. So long as the sealing surfaces on the bleeder are concentric and aligned properly, that's the important thing. So generous for Dan to take us along on the first fire-up and it sounds great! He's been busy polishing the paint, it's shocking how it's coming right back up! Also fun to see Andy with his S-32, it looks a lot like my '67 M15A-2 which at 49cc would have no chance of keeping up with him, haha! All the best in 2024 Scott!
my Saturday is complete! holiday wishes to you frankers and all the agents
The intro is awesome-excellent attention to details!
Glad you like it!
Great start to the video
Midnight mayhem, it could be anytime mayhem. 🤣🤣 love it
It's funny how the Buick has the same mismatched door position as the Kaiser! I like it!
Says a lot about the quality of those 50s cars they can be 70+ and still run well. The straight 8s had a unique note to the exhaust that made them hard to miss. Cheers for the New Year....
Great intro again!
That Olds sure sounds good. Nice seeing Tom at work.
Dan's Olds 98 Holiday is a great car! Nice to see it progressing nicely!
I really love that Oldsmobile. The condition is just so nice for its age.
This is a classic from Tom... These are your upholstery ones here in the corners.... and they're F"KED!! LOL
Hope you and the Agents had a great Christmas, Scott!
Happy New Year my friends!!
Peace and love from Parma, Michigan!!
Great show again! That Olds is hubba-hubba. Always good to see the bikes - and they are some beauties.
That Olds is amazing-like a custom show car that was mass produced-the cars sold today are plastic high tech junk-no thank you! Cheers!!!
I love that car. Drove a 76 olds 88 for 3 years , have a 70 and a 71 cutlass- love ‘em!!!!
Dan’s Olds sure is a glamorous old girl! Glad to seeTom was on hand to guide you through the fine points of the door swap - always confidence inspiring to hear “Now you’re f-!!” Thanks for all the pointers and entertainment in 2023, looking forward to more in ‘24 (my CWM calendar is on the wall!). Happy New Year and all the best to you, your family, Frankers, and all the Agents - cheers!
I've said it before, a day without Tom is like a day without sunshine.
Man the work you put into that door, I didn't think that would work as well as it did,
Dan's 53 Olds is looking to be a thing a beauty.
I’m definitely capturing Scott’s F-bomb rant, along with the laughter in the background-my next ringtone for folks who drive me nuts-for sure. The Suzuki is badass-props for ripping it and the show was sweet, too!
Tom is in fact a real pal Lucky to have a mentor and friend like him around every body need someone like him ahh the same ol Shit
Love the vintage bikes. Wish I still had my BSA 250 that I had back in the 70's.
Love Dan's new runner.....she does all the important things now...Stop, Start and Steer .
"Foolish enough to own one" ....or three in your case!!!
I can’t believe I watched that whole thing.
Would've liked a brief run down on attempt to remove broken bleeder screw on the Renault. Imagine Scott tried the usual combination of saturating with a penetrant, applying heat, and employing an EZ-out. Guessing the different metals may be the reason it was ultimately unsuccessful. What he ended up doing undoubtedly took a lot of time, sure hope it works!
Light sockets are probably all corroded and bulbs burnt-out. Love that car
The way we hollered when she started! I love the way Olds just burst into life when they start.
Great fix on the renault 5 calliper . Simply amazing that a fuel pump can come back to life after a thirty year rest. Thanks for all the great content this year. Best wishes to all the agents, Frankers, and to you, Scott!
Here's to 2024...Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧
The horn on Dan's Olds sounds like a car's horn SHOULD! 👍
Cool intro. Great Frankers and Tom stuff. Great to see the Olds moving. Nice job on the Buick door. Happy New Year to everyone ! 👊😎👍
Hey Scott, on the Renault caliper, i like your fix and if the banjo bolt leaks you can put a copper washers on it. I always save those and bleeders when i have to replace calipers.
Much respect to you guys from Matt in Iowa ('49 Chev, '50 Merc).
This is a cool old Oldsmobile 98 coupe! It goes and stops, and 1 park light and one backup light. Plus it’s got some functioning dash lights and gauges. It’s come a long way, but still has so far to go. Great.
My brother in-law kept buying batteries for his 98 Volvo s70 finally gave it to me for salvage money 300.00. I found the glove box light stayed on all the time. He was so pissed I fixed it. Anyways it got totaled by hurricane Ian flooded.
No swearing Lol! Everyone needs a friend like Tom.
Happy New Year and may it be filled with laughter, Happiness and Peace.
That Oldsmobile was going 100 smiles per hour, what a beast
