You're forgetting Mikael. He was definitely the most badass, deadly vampire. The man pulled out papa tundes blade out like it was nothing, was able to fight off the pain, hallucinations and ravenous hunger caused by werewolf bites through sheer force of will. In terms of physical power he was one of the if not the strongest character and in terms of mental strength he was the strongest character I've ever seen on a CW show.
The fact that that when Elijah says he has given his word, even Klaus himself steps aside without hesitation makes Elijah the very definition of the word honourable.

For example “I will not let my brother kill you” this gives Elijah access to kill you by his hand since he said he wouldn’t let klaus kill you therefore he can kill you and still keep his word.

Yes Elijah is and has showed time after time. Elijah is a person of there word. Elijah at multiple times has checked Klaus even as The Original Hybrid. I have said it before Elijah is the most dangerous of The Original Siblings.

Arian Klaus is not at the end of that list. Klaus killed Mikael several times and so is stronger.
Klaus killed Lucien through mental strength and so is better in battle.
Klaus almost killed Marcel and Marcel still breathes only because Klaus allowed it and had a moment of foolish weakness.

Hayley was pushed to be stronger then most and at times I get it but for her to beat vampires so more powerful and older at times is questionable.

Elijah may be one of the most popular characters to come from even tvd and to but even then he’s very underrated. He has so much growth as a character whether it’s his reasoning or motives that drive him. He goes through resolutions and development like no other not even klaus. I don’t think klaus is overrated he has the popularity he deserves, however he is far different than Elijah, he’s more focused on his ruthless character himself. The only real development is from his daughter and still it’s not huge. Elijah however is so much more complex.

rewatching a few episodes of vampire diaries today made me realize how much i hated them in that show but in the originals i feel such a connection to them all. they also all had huge glow ups like elijah🤩 but like hope days in the originals it’s just who’s telling the story
