I just finished assembly of the breadboard LED circuit. I followed the steps carefully, but nothing happened. THEN I rechecked your video and realized I had not connected all 8 transistor bases to the main base of BC547. The thing lit right up on power up after that. Now, I am going to transfer this whole project over to a PC board and make it permanent so I may use it for my music show! Thanks for a great design and idea. By the way, I had no 100nano F cap so I used an 82nano F, and had no 22ohm resistors, so I substituted them for 100ohm. Still works without a hitch.
I bought the transistors and own resistors and wired it to a board and followed ever step and nothing lights up unless I take the mic out and replace with wires (short the mic)
I think this is great. As a musician, I am going to use this idea to light up my solo show with my singing and guitar. My show depends on traveling lite and compact. Perfect to add for excitement. I will let you know when I finish the breadboard how it goes, then I will transfer that to a permanent board!

Hello sir, LEDs are glowing if I use electret mic (pin type) or not. How can I solve that problem. LEDs not blink cuz of pin type mic???please answer Sir
Can i add pic (microship) to the circuit and do a program to make for exemple 4 leds turn on and others turn off in the same time while the music is playing, and other question when i relate the microphone to a pin of the pic ofcourse it should be analog converter pin but should i do any changes or the pic will take as digital into it for exemple when the music turns on the input takes 1 from the microphone and the transistors with the leds will be relate each one to his propre pin should turn on and off depending on the music
Yes u can do it.but, u don't need to use PIC Microcontroller's as it is a very easy circuit and u can inverse the output by adding another transistor in the ckt to get 4 LED's turn on and 4 LED's turn off. Hi MAK's! I made this circuit and i designed a pcb board with a beautifull design with 2 Vacuum Tube... led controlled... but i have a little problem.. if I clap my hand led flash for a part of a second... and the circuit are not sensitive for music. The problem it. s the microphone sensibility? I need to mention a few changes.. like... I use 2N2222 NPN hfe 200 transistor... And the reistor in series with microphone changed to 1k.... The circuit working... but not verry well like you... Why.? I don. t know... I suppose the problem is the sensibility of the microphone... If I breathe in the microphone... led flash.. How can you think I solve this? If I solve the problem I will give you my schematic pcb layout. Have a good night
Yeah the problem is with the microphone bcoz that's it which drives the circuit to switch on the LED. So change the microphone I will also recommended u to use a high ohm resistor's so that they will enable the circuit only when there is a clear sound. That's all thanks for u help though.
