Incredible progress Jack! Total bummer about the cam. Roller cam kit it is! Thank you for pulling the dash all apart and cleaning out the HVAC as well. That was pretty nasty in there.

Hi I found you Chanel because nnkh Chris I’m a retired auto mechanic I definitely enjoy seeing you work on chevelle last year I sold my 71 green nomad wagon I put a rebuilt 454 in it’s a 4 speed manual I didn’t get to finish it and I truly missed the car. I’ve owned it for over 25 years and regret Selling it I changed it from a three on the tree with the four-speed Muncy in it. I did so much on the car. Hopefully, I can get another one someday now that I’m retired Absolutely enjoy your show

Man you are such a wealth of knowledge. I appreciate watching all the great work you are doing and I am certain Chris is going to fall in love with this car all over again. Such a shame that the cam was wiped. Especially after Chris found out about the diff gear issues. I think everyone thought the drive line was good. I feel for the sticker shock Chris is dealing with. I think we all get it, cause we're car guys and have all been there. When dealing with a 54 year old car, your going to find some things that are gonna bite you in the arse.

I really enjoyed the bit with your brother, he seems just like you and the explainations about the keys and the key machine were super cool and interesting.
I really dig your channel man, of course I came here because of NNKH but now I'm 100% supporting you too!
And by the way, don't apologize for a long video, I think the audience of this kind of channel like me quite enjoy spending an hour or even two, because it's the kind of content that needs time to be explained. If it was all rushed and cut and put in a 10 mins video, it would really not be the same...

The dash looks like a Monte Carlo dash. It's what a lot of people do when they change over from a Malibu sweep dash. The wood grain is just an insert that has little tabs on the back side to take it off. Underneath is the correct SS grain. You can fill the tab holes and paint it to make it look more authentic. I even took an exacto knife and carved lines in the filler before painting.
