    Very interesting! The rubber will last much longer this way, not stretching over the pulley.
    It would be interesting to see this concept modified into a reverse draw design, so you could get a much longer power-stroke.
    Very cool build!

      This is a weirdly shaped slingshot, and nothing like a crossbow!

  • @BallBusta
    @BallBusta 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Awful placement for those elastics. Any failure on the forward position of your crossbow and those elastics are going full force into your face. That being said, if the part of your face hit is your eye, you can kiss that eyeball goodbye punta

    It looks very cool, but first of all it isn't a bow though, it's a slingshot. A very strong one regardless. But i think it could've been much more practical with a few improvements, nice build though!

      What improvements did you have in mind? I made one similar after I saw this and it doesn’t seem like the limbs are beneficial, but more just add visuals as a plus, but weight and unwieldy bulk as a negative. I’m trying to build a better one, maybe you have some good ideas that I could take into consideration.

    • @shady8273
      @shady8273 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rickymortinson1918 I agree the build looks very cool visually, but its probably weighing more than it should, and probably less ergonomic. If you ask me, honestly wrist rockets are the best slingshots; easier to reload and very light but powerful. It will get the same job done. Improvements on this slingshot-crossbow though:
      A different material for the grip, most probably leather.
      Removing the part where it connects with the stock and grip will make it more ergonomic and easier to handle. If you ask me there is not a reason at all to have a butt, this slingshot is not powerful enough to give you recoil. But again, it makes it easier for you to reload the weapon as seen in 14:35. It is a matter of choice.
      The part where limbs connect with the body seems overcomplicated, if you could work with steel you could come up with something way more lighter and visually less clustered.
      This bow has a reverse draw design but it doesnt really use it. I'm no expert at how a slingshot could be used with reverse-draw but this definitely isn't the one. ZNA Productions commented on this video that it could be modified into a reverse draw design, this channel was the first time i got into making bows with PVC. So I'll agree with that. The point of reverse draw crossbows are that you could get a more powerful power stroke. It means longer limbs without actually making the crossbow longer and heavier. But again, i don't know how it could be enforced with slingshots. I guess this is all i could say, good luck.

    Just laughter. At best, this wunderwaffle will break through a piece of boiled sausage. It was possible to organize the entire system along the bar, without these shoulders, which are here only for beauty and in fact do not increase, but shorten the travel of the rubber, and besides, they make the weapon huge

  • @vespass225
    @vespass225 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Fake video, insinuating that the arrow actually penetrates that wooden log, which is pure bullshit. Rather short drawlength as well, compared to real very powerful modern crossbows.

    In this crossbow, the arrow is stressed at the tail of the crossbow. For a two-arm crossbow, the arrow receives force at the level of the crossbow and at the exit. Does your crossbow have less force at the tail?

    Do not underestimate a crossbow! Not only does it fire something far heavier than any bullet well if we're talking about weapons a human can fire from the shoulder then yes, but. It does that with virtually no noise at all!
    Even thee quietest of firearms are still louder than crossbows and especially bows and will tear through most soft body armours like it was nothing. They maybe "basic and primitive" but that doesn't knock their effectiveness at all.

      @@WoodworkingStudio Your welcome buddy, maybe one day I'll have a go at making one although, I'd probably use Damascus steel lightweight to construct the body and mill it out. The reason for the limbs is to add the ability for the rubbers to stretch to a harder degree allowing for that extra push that gave the arrow the ability to actually blow through the entire log.

    Hi
    Nice work. With a slightly different arrangement, with more pulleys, a much larger powerstroke would be available...

  • @sqnhunter
    @sqnhunter ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In all reality, the whole wing design is not necessary to give you same power strokes from the rubbers. Without the wings and pulley's you will actually have just a little more power. In all.. a striking model, but lighter and more maneuverable if with a simple front t for the rubbers. The wood craft is exquisite!
