    My Polk's are old school and built in the USA. Two RT500i's CS300i and FX500i bipole, dipole surrounds. They BOOM! I was gonna upgrade and my friend who is a Polk dealer for 40 years said to keep what I have. Said they are just not made well now in China. Cheaper parts. I'm more than pleased with what I own.

    How do you like the a9s? I have 4 of them coming today. I've liked the spec sheets and look of them for a while and kinda stoked to have them coming.

    Enjoyed this video very much thanks for posting!
    Once the novelty wears off with your first home theatre setup that is when normally ones ears will start to become a finely tuned! Because on my upgrade i actually done my small living room out for a 9-Channel receiver (Denon 6500) and during the audition I noticed all my unshielded speaker cables become even more apparent! So after I returned the Denon and reinvested that £1,800 by shielding all my speaker cables (plus audiophile grade conditioner) iam now back to my usual 7.2 budget receiver which now sounds crisp, dynamic with minimum distortion and no radio frequency interference (EMI) whatsoever!
    IMO this proves the interference wasn't mechanical noise coming from my budget receiver but the unshielded cables!!
    The only problem now ive got to get my money's worth and get myself a decent 9-channel receiver!
    Click on the red dragon hit the Dolby Atmos video and you can view a short video of how I had it before I done the cable ramp!

    It's actually crazy how cheap big box brand speakers like these go on sale for. The markup on them is insane. "regular price $2000 per speaker" then they go on clearance a year or two later for $400, and then like you said, people clear them out even cheaper when they're like "hmm i got this on clearance with a Yamaha 100 watt per channel receiver and they sound like crap" then sell them for $250 a piece LOL. One massive problem with Polk selling these speakers through big box stores, is that most of them don't carry amps powerful enough to give them what they need. You can't even Bi-amp a 100watt per channel receiver and get good sound. LOL I don't even think my Rotel 1582 MKii has enough juice at 200 watts per channel for the A9's.

    • @techsounds9956
      @techsounds9956  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i think they definitely missed the mark trying to sell them with nothing but 100 watt best buy receivers to test em out with. probably why best buy has lots of klipsch.

      Theres a bunch of Dolby demos on my channel all using these speakers

    • @bretts7037
      @bretts7037 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't find out how a speaker sounds over youtube. It's using a microphone, then compressed, then played through whatever you have on your viewing end. Unless you have a studio grade mic right in front of these speakers, then play the recording through the same speakers.. you won't know what they sound like LOL.
      But - the guy posted the video to help people figure out how to buy the setup, not demo the sound in his echoey room. Clearly most people aren't smart enough to just buy speakers second hand, so he made this video for people that don't know you can just buy it all outside of a store.

    • @techsounds9956
      @techsounds9956  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like em, sound pretty good for whatever. They mainly run higher frequencies above like 60hz ish so there is tons of power for my speakers which apparently are power hungry lol so I dunno, it works and I like em.

    • @techsounds9956

      If you were on a lower than 500 budget I would recommend something along these lines www.bestbuy.com/site/onkyo-ht-5-1-ch-4k-home-theater-system-black/5977313.p?skuId=5977313#tab=buyingOptions?bof=openbox. And for 500 and 1000 I will add another reply. But the above has 4k pass through. Is 5.1 comes with speakers and a sub. Is a reputable name from an easy to return company and is about 250 dollars.

    • @techsounds9956
      @techsounds9956  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@slylone8026 if you had a budget of 500 I would recommend getting a receiver such as www.bestbuy.com/site/yamaha-aventage-7-2-ch-bluetooth-capable-hdr-compatible-a-v-home-theater-receiver-black/6233403.p?skuId=6233403#tab=buyingOptions?bof=openbox with open box and on sale deals as low as 400 and then pick up a used set of surround speakers locally for 100 bucks. There is usually lots of small speaker packages available for about 100 on the second hand market. And for the 1000 dollar mark I would get a similar receiver deal or one with more channels if necessary then I would get a better set of used surround speakers with a bigger more powerful powered sub. And with 400-500 to spend there are some amazing quality speaker sets on the used/open box market. And then it's basically just finding a set that you like in the budget. I would recommend a set of front towers and at least a 10" subwoofer or two if possible.
