Great video and that's great to hear my Uncle doing the voice over too.

a guy I was chatting to at PRR tonight was part of the crew that filmed this, but even weirder was looking up the video and it’s my cousin’s channel. Didn’t even know he had a channel! Thanks for posting old happy memories 😊

When I worked at the Capri theatre, I did a show for a Adelaide made movie called the Marriage of Figaro. The guy that made it was the guy who made this video and I had no idea I was working with him until we'd run his movie and he'd left. I also went to a wedding at Strathalbyn once where the celebrant was the narrator of this video as well

The soundtrack that goes with this is killer, is there any way to get the documentary's soundtrack?

Love watching old videos of the Pichi Richi Railway. The women at 11 minutes... Is my Nana! 😊

England. A retired engineer, BIG lumps of steel, very big lumps (all gone). Excellent video, but the yank streamlining looked dreadful - nothing new there, then. It's the little preservation groups that I admire most. No money, little machinery, mostly 'seniors' that should be taking it easy (maybe not). Good luck and health to you all.

Despite the English driver's comments, SAR520's were reported to hit 100mph (160kmh) on a few occasions, they were more than capable of it, just limited to a track speed of 80mph (130kmh), absolutely capable of hitting higher speeds though.

Who would've thought in the 90s when I was little I would eventually volunteer on this great preserved railway, the Pichi Richi Railway. This year coming (2017) will be my second year volunteering up at Quorn. In that time I've helped in the last year of historic Car 5s restoration and various other things. My mum and dad are also members. It's a family affair now haha! I love it! It's a great experience to be apart of. Thanks for posting.
