It's very pretty but it's a lot of hair bands. I used to do this in a large French braid. And just tucking the ends under.

I don't understand the point of all the extra steps and hairbands for what essentially looks like a french braid. I've noticed this trend a lot lately being touted as being easier or a "braid hack", but I just don't see how it can be. Braids aren't that hard.

I'm trying to give people options since

Because not everyone can braid it the conventional way, she does braid hacks and tricks for people that want the look but don't know how to do it. And sometimes her tips ans tricks are faster than the conventional way as well.

I have soft, fine hair that slides out of up-styles and sheds bobby pins. I haven't found a styling product yet that adds grip without weighing my hair down and making it clumpy or greasy. Elastics are my saving grace! I use them sparingly and carefully. I love tutorials like this that give me new ideas!

Because this looks way easier and can take breaks with those of us with shoulder mobility issues! This is the first time I have seen anything like this and I have never been able to French braid my hair because it is fine texture and just slips out after all the pain I go thru trying to hold it that long. Genius!
