Sho, thank you so much for your videos. They're always soothing and whenever I have a really bad dinner service there's a sense of peace getting the garden update (sorry about the edamame but the spinach is looking mighty good); seeing the magnificent views (even when it's raining cats and dogs); the always entertaining shopping trips and fun item reveals when putting things into your refrigerator. My favorite part in this video is watching you cook. Now, you may say to yourself, "But I just make Miso soup." HOWEVER, don't cut yourself short - the important part is (and I say this to myself while watching you)..."WHAT yummy stuff is he going to put in the Miso Soup this time and what are the side dish choices he's making??!!". You had me going with the potatoes, for the life of me (as I was sipping some cold-brewed-carbonated iced tea minus the large, round, really cool ice cubes) you lost me with the sautéed onions. I could not figure out where you were going with this. Intrigued, I sipped more tea and started laughing when the potato masher bent. And this is where several things happened simultaneously: I "nasal jetted" my tea (when your mouth is full of liquid and you start laughing so hard that the mouthful of liquid you were trying to swallow shoots at high velocity from your mouth up through your nose-probably a really bad description but I tried). I was laughing because I too, have bent other kitchen utensils while trying to mash potatoes-lol-you are not alone Dude!! Strangely I felt comforted.
Thank you for your warm and kind comment! I was really happy and had a lot of fun reading your message. It also encourages me a lot! Hahaha, when I go to the grocery store, I always think, "What yummy stuff am I going to put in the miso soup today?" 😆 I'm sorry about your kitchen utensils 😂 but I feel relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who bends them! lol

Hi Dubi! I don't like using an umbrella, so rain jackets are a great idea 😆 I'm not sure about the spice... I guess it might be different in Japan...? By the way, "Aji" means "taste(味)" in Japanese. I think nowadays not many goods are traded at Nagasaki port. The most common arrivals in Nagasaki are probably foreign tourists. I'm very glad that they came to Nagasaki ☺️ You know a lot about Japanese history! Yes, I can introduce Sadako's 1000 cranes someday. Yes, his book is very interesting! Nagasaki truly is beautiful. I am glad the Peace Park looks and feels so serene. If you have a chance, would you be able to show some of the Autumn festival in Nagasaki? I know you mentioned looking forward to it and it would be interesting to see if it is like fall festivals here. Take care and stay safe!
Yes, I'm planning to show you the festival on TH-cam. I could buy vegetables from small vendors in Sumiyoshi, but I usually go to another shopping street, so I haven't bought them there. Champon is so delicious, and I want you to try it someday!

Hello Sho-san How are you today? Wow,lots of rain... Here in Vancouver the summer usually means sunny weather...so far it's been off and on...though rain is good ...because if we get lots of sunny day, there is chances of forest 🔥 fires.... School is out for 2 months holidays...so it eases the morning traffic.... I'm an electrician and data communication technician, where my sector is the Vancouver Police Department...they keep me very busy...I usually work 10 hours a day...sometimes more...
Hi Jeff-san! Nagasaki is right in the middle of the rainy season now, so it rains every day, but it's cooler, which is kind of nice. In Japan, we don't have forest fires, so it sounds very scary. Wow, you work so hard! Please be careful not to overwork yourself 😢

Hi, Tiedra! Thanks for finding my channel. Nagasaki is getting hot and humid since we're right in the middle of the rainy season. I always thought Canada wasn't that hot, but it turns out it's quite warm and humid this time of year! I had no idea. Thank you for sharing :)

I'm interested in your making green tea in sparkling water. Do you put a tea bag in hot water first, and follow by sparkling water. Right? It looks so tempting. I feel like making tea your way. Please
This bag is specially made for cold brewing, so I can easily make tea just by adding water. It also makes delicious tea with carbonated water, so I directly add carbonated water. For regular tea bags that are made for hot water, it might be better to brew the tea with hot water first 😌
Nice and healthy meal .. looked delicious … not so sure how healthy the feta and tofu is though .. Guess we all desire the odd naughty ingredients … What I want to know …is all young Japanese men naturally talented in the kitchen ?
Hi, thank you for your question! I'm not sure if all young Japanese men are good at cooking, but I guess the number of men who enjoy cooking is increasing... maybe? 😌

Hola Sho. I know you mentioned looking forward to it and it would be interesting to see if it is like fall festivals here. On your walk through the Sumiyoshi shopping district, I noticed there were small vegetable vendors, do you ever bring home vegetables for your miso soup? Also, the Champon looks delicious! Take care and stay safe!
Yes, I'm planning to show you the festival on TH-cam. I could buy vegetables from small vendors in Sumiyoshi, but I usually go to another shopping street, so I haven't bought them there. Champon is so delicious, and I want you to try it someday!
Hi watching you fr Philippines
I am definitely in love with your sweet old home! I want the same one here, in Siberia. Perhaps I can create something similar.🤔🤩
Thanks! Wow you live in Siberia.
I hope the world leaders remember this period of history, we are seriously close to bad things happening again in the world 😢
I ordered ponzu souse to give it a try after your video 😂 And thank you for your recipe of green tea with sparkling water - I tried it and I think I’ll be drinking it all the summer - very gentle flavor and it’s refreshing.
Wow, thank you for ordering and giving it a try 😆. Yes, it's very refreshing. I think I can survive this summer with this tea :)
@@life_in_nagasaki ahaha, hold on! 😂 In Moscow today is +35 Celsius in the sun so I’m not sure I will survive 😂

I'm honored to have convinced you to try cooking miso soup 😆
rainy weather is Nagasaki is so beautiful ....it is giving ghibli vibes....calm and peaceful
Yes it is! I'm not sure if my food is delicious😂 but I'm so sure that Nagasaki in rainy season is so beautiful :)
Thanks for uploading this video. ☔
Thanks for watching :)
Hello Sho-san
How are you today?
Another fantastic video. Hello from New Zealand.

Hello from Nagasaki, Japan. I'm glad to have more subs from New Zealand :)
Just found your channel, I'm enjoying your videos! It's nice to see these calming and relaxing videos from a mans perspective. I live in Ontario, Canada, and it's super hot and humid here at the moment. Keep up the great work! ❤
Hi, Tiedra! Thanks for finding my channel. Nagasaki is getting hot and humid since we're right in the middle of the rainy season. I always thought Canada wasn't that hot, but it turns out it's quite warm and humid this time of year! I had no idea. Thank you for sharing :)
Oh yes! The humidity is the worst part as I'm sure you understand. I'm so thankful for our air conditioner... couldnt sleep without it!! I'm slowly backtracking through your videos I love seeing the sights and learning about your culture. Looking forward to your harvest!! ❤
Hope to visit Nagasaki someday❤
Yes! I hope you will someday☺️

Hola Heren! gracias por verlo! Me alegro que te haya gustado! Arigatoooo!
Bonjour.

you can do it edamame!! 🌿
would love to see some videos of the downtown area and nightlife districts in nagasaki ;) *if you havent already covered them in your prior videos ? i will have to finish watching them all i guess ;)
Yes, I'll definitely do it sometime! (I haven't covered them yet!)
I want to see Peace Park, I have watched thousands of films and memories about it. It's good that Nagasaki is thriving again!
I love rainy days... Brazilian or Colombian coffee and Ethiopian are better!! Try it
I'll try them ☺️
Daikon é versátil combina com tudo 😅
Minha vó fazia sopa com daikon e shoyu
Sim, é mesmo! E uau, a tua avó fazia sopa de miso!
Bro I enjoyed your video i have just one suggestion change your chopping board because when you cut the micro plastic came in food also. Otherwise your vold make me feel good🙏
Please buy a wooden kitchen cutting-bord,(no rather saerch it online about microplastic in our system due kitchen bord)
Thank you! I watched some TH-cam videos and just bought a wooden cutting board online. You’ll see it in my video soon ☺️

@@life_in_nagasaki 都會吧!
For regular tea bags that are made for hot water, it might be better to brew the tea with hot water first 😌
@@life_in_nagasaki OMG i just tried with the normal teabag lol. Luckily that I've got your answer after only one bag trial. Thank you so much.
during which month will the festival be? September or October?
Nagasaki Kunchi Festival is held every year from October 7th to 9th 😌
@@life_in_nagasaki oh, I see, thank you so much!
No locking of front door? Nice
I can with no problem, but I guess I should have 😂
If you but a damp towel underneath your cutting board it won't shift around
Nice and healthy meal .. looked delicious … not so sure how healthy the feta and tofu is though ..
Guess we all desire the odd naughty ingredients …
What I want to know …is all young Japanese men naturally talented in the kitchen ?
Hi, thank you for your question! I'm not sure if all young Japanese men are good at cooking, but I guess the number of men who enjoy cooking is increasing... maybe? 😌

Are ovens common in Japan?
I think so, and some people do have them, but I don't have one now 😢lol
you cut your hair ? nice. and big delicious eggplants
Yes, I got my hair cut! The eggplant is not only big but also tasty 😆
Proverò a farlo 👀
I am really intrigated by natto, what is the taste like? Is it bitter or sour ?🤔
It's kinda difficult to explain the taste of natto, but it tastes sweet and a little bit sour☺️
@@life_in_nagasaki , thank you 😊
Iam excited for you to harvest you’re edamame 👏
Thanks! I hope they will grow well! 😌
Hola Sho. Me alegro te cuides.
Hola In!
Go to the gym my friend ❤
Lol...get lost, with your gym.
