It's the most endearing thing watching you be overwhelmed by Seventeen, every time it happens. I love that this song came out now rather than earlier actually. It does feel more like something that celebrates us getting back to normal after all the changes and hardships, but also reminding us that we are all going through this together despite the feelings of separation. All of their Japanese MVs and choreos are really great, and all different. You know Fallin' Flower is one we all love, and you won't be disappointed when you get around to it. Happy Ending is a personal favorite that I feel is a bit underrated. 24H has some really creative choreo (shocking, I know). Ahhhhh they're all great. Looking forward to it!
What I love is that, in the beginning of the MV, each of them is in a completely different place - seemingly so isolated - but the director connects them together by using interactive motivated transitions _every time_ it switches. Not alone ♡
I love how HITORI JANAI (Not Alone) has been pretty straightforward on the music, lyrics, MV and choreo. Not much confettis and poppers and just plainly honest as to the emotions. Highlighting their vocals and the genuineness they wanted to show. Longing, memories and the assurance of being not alone, that someday we'll get to meet again and be together... These are their other JP tracks in chronological order: - CALL CALL CALL (energetic & hype, like where do they get their energies? Lol) - HAPPY ENDING (chill and groovy, it may not be everyones fave but i l personally love this) - FALLIN' FLOWER (most aesthetically beautiful mv you'll probably see from a boy group, and very intricate and pretty choreo) - 24H (unique sound and a choreo with formations that were very striking)
Seventeen has definitely mastered the sound of comfort and reassurance because they truly embody that feeling with their music, from songs like Hug to Not Alone and everything in between, they are such a comforting group.
Hey~ good to see you well~ thanks for giving Seventeen love~ it's amazing how even though you haven't read the lyrics translation, the message of the song was still properly conveyed. Music transcends language indeed. ^^ just remember, hitori janai~ you are not alone. Tc!
You are absolutely right!! people often misunderstood that light or soft movement is easy. But No. They make the moves look easy and it still requires good body control and dynamics to pull off a good performance, otherwise, it will look messy or bland. But Seventeen makes the moves effortlessly and colorful with their unique style. That's why while other groups are going aggressive choreography, Seventeen still stands out. More Seventeen pls. I subscribed!!!
Yes, this is about the pandemic but it isn’t 8 months too late at all. We are all still effected by it every day, some countries don’t have vaccines like we do and America’s rate of infection is growing worse than ever. The pandemic is far from being over and the apathy of Americans is just prolonging it. People who can be vaccinated refusing to be, refusing to mask up or take common sense precautions then getting angry when schools and stores shut down again. Songs like this will be made for a long time, because while this is a divisive event here in America, everywhere else it is a chance for unification and cooperation.
I swear no matter how bad or sad I feel I can always listen to their music and it brings me joy and comfort. Especially the song hug is a comfort song for me.
Hitori janai, aka the video where a boyband breaks into an empty, locked sports stadium XD I love their Japanese releases, they keep with the Seventeen brand of having wildly different concepts but still having a recognisable sound. And at the same time Woozi and Bumzu have a knack for making them *feel* Japanese. Especially Hitori Janai has a very JPop-y, almost Johnny's-esque feel to it imho. Maybe that's just me. If they're late with a Pandemic-themed video is arguable. From what I've heard from friends who live there, Japan is slow-going with vaccine distribution and they're still mostly in lockdown mode. And on an international level there's many countries that have it even worse. So having a song that's acknowledging the situation while being uplifting is nice. I'm looking forward to the Inside Seventeen video for when they practiced this choreo, just to compare the different lifting trios XD. My money is on Minghao being the easiest to lift actually. Woozi is short but have you seen him in a shirtless tee? Dude is BUILT, so he probably weights more than one might think just from the muscle mass. Meanwhile Minghao is pretty scrawny and probably helps a lot with lift-off momentum with all his b-boying experience. You're in for a treat with SVT Mafia dance!
