I procrastinated on my own birthday and made this all in like 4 days. Anyways it was a massive pain in the ass but I think it turned out alright. I love the kagerou project.

Hey man, I currently re-listening all the old vocaloid song and discovered this video on my feed. This is a fantastic video and put me on a nostalgic trip, I enjoyed listening to your voice and the way you present the story. And it's amazing, hope to listening to your voice and video in the future. 👍
I only watched the anime twice before this video. I think the adaptation doesn't do this story justice. With such emotional, compelling storybeats you need to take your time. But the adaptation didn't and therefore I was very confused the first time I watched it and the second time still didn't understand the ending. It was also told in a rather chopped up way. I for example remember there being a shot with Momos brother in the background. In all of the previous flashbacks he was just gone without being mentioned ever again. I also find it strange that the spoiled girl never appeared in the ending, technically leaving us completetly in the dark about her fate. She was just assumed to have been taken to the timeless realm and that was it.
All of that said I think the original medium is probably worth reading instead of the adaptation.
Really well explained story in detail. The reason why Shintaro didn't kill himself was, bcs kano and he didn't blame himself for Ayano's death.

Wow. I was honestly worried that you would leave out of skip over something, just due to how complex and convoluted the Kagerou Project lore can be at times, but you actually managed to capture everything and present it in a way that made sense. I'm impressed.
He skipped over the first manga timeline and the Reloaded timeline lol. Although idk how important those are to the progression of the story

@@TheBeattyBeast Eh, the anime isn't so bad if you regard it as a later loop in the series. Though advertising it as if it was going to be a straight adaptation wasn't really ideal if it's meant to be a continuation.

I was super confused at first, like “Wait I thought Shintaro spilled soda on his computer and not his rabbits feed” but that’s because… I’m used to the mekacucity actors route 💀💀 it’s the most, “modern” one ig- plus I watched the anime after the songs so I guess that one stuck with me. Now that August 15, (Kagerou Daze) has come around once more, I finally decided to try and understand this story. Overall, I am still very confused. I probably need to watch this video two or three times until I fully comprehend the plot. Despite my confusion, I think the Kagerou Project is an incredibly interesting story, and I can’t wait to dive into more of the fandom. Seeing how all the characters grow and persist through their hardships is really inspiring. Thank you for this helpful analysis vid, I will be sure to come back to it for any future Kagepro questions I have! (Which is a lot) Also, love the little character doodles, they’re just so silly

When I was a kid, I found Kagerou because of my obsession with Vocaloid. Never understood it, but listened to the songs and found Mekakucity Actors. This video makes my childhood obsession finally make sense! Thank you!
When I was a few years younger, I liked Umineko and Kagepro a lot (and still do!), and would often play my own rendition of Hope from the Umineko OST on the piano... with a specific twist - turning the last half of the song into a rendition of Summertime Record instead, a sort of mashup of sorts. Both songs were incredibly important to me.
So you must understand that you choosing to use *specifically* Hope at the end of this video (and a few other points) hit me with A Great Deal Of Emotions.

This work is so concise and clear and beautiful, easy to understand even in such a complex story while having wonderful storytelling. You capture the essence of the project better than anyone and your voice is honestly really relaxing and nice to listen to, like something I’d put in the background of drawing or resting. I’ve watched all of your Kagepro Lecture videos (many more than once) and still enjoy hearing this timeless story told again and again. I’ve said this before, but I don’t think I’d be this deep into the project if not for your videos. And now it’s all I think about. One year of fixating and going strong! You really do the characters justice, keep up the wonderful work in keeping this fandom alive!

Damn, KagePro has been my favorite fandom ever since the anime release, I watched the anime at least 10 times, read the whole manga series twice and even read the first two novels (the third one is sold out everywhere and thus I decided to just leave it at that) and I still had some problems understanding the lore sometimes. I never expected that you tell the FULL story of the kagerou project, I thought I could do this myself but unfortunatley I think I missed out allot of stuff or maybe I might be wrong about the timeline, It's like trying to fit in a BILLION PUZZLE PEICES, but now this video make the puzzle peices together, and it created the FULL picture of the Kagerou Project.

ngl this video made me SOB!!! I loved the anime when it came out and I constantly sing it's praises. I have the first manga (made after Mekakucity Actors released I believe), but never read the original novels. The soundtracks are amazing, the anime is great, but now I understand the full depth of the story! This narrative is so heartbreaking and beautiful. It reminds me of the plot of Kingdom Hearts Union X. Thank you for putting so much work into this and sharing the beauty of this narrative! This was amazing ❤️, I watched the anime years ago but I never read the manga so I only had pieces of information from the MV's and this video was just what I needed, not only it is concise and well made but the characters on screen and the simple animations make it easy to understand and even though it's a big info-dump it's not overwhelming at all!

Amazing video, really helped me to understand the whole story. I just watched the anime and had to dig deeper because I felt like something is missing. But I have a question about Shintaro. So he remembered things because he saw the photograph and proceeded to kill himself with scissors to start his plan. He killed himself with scissors before as well. But didn't he also get killed by a gun in Lost Time Memory? Where in the timeline is this placed? Also it looks like he unlocked his eye powers then, after he got killed by headshot and got transported in Daze, but idk.
Anyways I will stick with your explanation because it makes sense lmao, just curious because Shintaro is unexplored as a character in the anime.
The gunshot in Lost Time Memory only happens then and not anywhere else. In that timeline, Haruka was trying to kill himself to stop the clearing eyes from taking over and Shintaro stopped him.
Shintaro meets with Ayano in different timelines, I just highlighted the most important ones.
