I cannot thank you enough for this message today. It's a great confirmation. "Real choice is being able to cut the attention from running with the mind and keeping it back inside the awareness seeing..." Thank you
Absolutely...wow. My beliefs is exactly that , we have never had total choice but a combination of a leading us, a pulling of our destination toward a certain decision but it really is our destined path within certain limits. Love Mooji.
A, ha moment. The understanding presence is a very powerful place. I see that now. He was an extraordinary being and so very grateful to have found him in my lifetime for some enlightenment. So truly profound. Wonderful, gentle teacher
Yes we have a choice, we can choose our destiny by choosing God will for us, in whatever we do. we just have to be aware of it, it all the time and that we all God conscious .
But even your choosing God is conditioned and destined to be by the motion of the past that shaped you in a way that you will in this very moment choose God. It feels like your free choice but really it’s conditioned by indescribable number of variables that you are not aware of nor you have any control over. Choice is only experiential, not real in its essence.
If the fullness of this talk was recognised ones life would unfold exactly as is intended by the supreme, for this part I will be watching again lest I forget who I am , my ego must be seen for what it is,,,,,Mooji is Love
Love that one. "Finding where you are so you can get back there" is another interesting one... As is _BEING_ who you are long enough to handle it! HaHa!
Space is the natural space, no residence there, coming and going, everything is passing, including what you think you are. Feel your pain, what remains is your eternal being. There is no need to explain. Be clear about what you are not. Than begins the magic. Everything is only a appearance in conciousness...
All things are predetermined. Free will only exists through our relative perception, therefore the false self/the ”I”perceives having control over it’s own finite choices therefore destiny. As what truly moves our relative I, can not be perceived by the I. Decisions are made well before our conscious mind receives the information, and then appears to makes a conscious decision. Since the mind acts as a receiver, the information is received and then the false self claims it as it’s own. The I perceives it’s movement as that of itself, as it can only perceive what is seeable within its finite framework. The truth is infinite therefore cannot be clearly perceived by the finite. The only way to truly exercise a version of free will is through complete surrender of the false self/I. Through this you will become the observer of the apparent happenings of the body and the I, therefore unmoved by all things outside of the one true self. True happiness can not be a byproduct of cause and effect, it can only come through merger of the I with the true self/God. All other feelings of happiness related to cause and effect are fleeting, therefore must be better described as temporary pleasures In more basic terms, our relative self (the I or false self) only appears to itself to have control over what’s happening. All things are in true reality predetermined. It’s the false self that believes itself to be in control, because it lacks the perspective to know otherwise. True free will is to surrender or not to surrender. Through complete surrender you become a spectator of the apparent happenings of the false self, as resting in absolute perspective of the true self you will no longer be moved by them. Therefore feelings of love or hate that are generated through the happenings of the I are really just misinterpreted temporary feelings of pain or pleasure The I exists only in this illusion. There is no choosing because everything is already done. There is no time. It’s the I that experiences this illusion as if it were happening to it. The truth is, nothing is actually happening, as the truth remains unchanged and unchangeable Eventually through complete surrender the true self will expose the false nature of this “I”... Through surrender the “I” dissolves and separates from the true self once the true self merges with the soul. Then you will become the indifferent observer of the apparent happenings of the “I”, as you will no longer identify with it as the real you
It’s hard to believe you have a choice when there is stuff happening to you like involuntary head swaying or the holding of mudras but still one has to find balance. There is nowhere to stand.
Wonderful video. I'm listening to Mooji about few weeks and I'm still trying to get his simpleness. I have one question to any of you who are more familiar with Mooji and similar kind of concepts. My question is, what about the motivation for worldly success?I've read Napoleon Hill and he says that if person want to achieve his goals he must have a strong motivation about it.He must think about often, visualize his goal and etc. It looks to me like putting an effort, and Mooji preach surrendering?
This guy is the truth anyone that doesn't understand is just not ready peace is still with u god send people to come An get those he want at certain times... maybe you will catch the next bus .... remember they killed Christ for truth...
Mooji says that we have partly free will. Maharshi says that we have zero free will: "Ramana Maharshi: What for then does the body come into existence? It is designed for doing the various things marked out for execution in this life. The whole programme is chalked out. “Not an atom moves except by His Will” expresses the same truth, whether you say “Does not move except by His Will” or “Does not move except by karma”. As for freedom for man, he is always free not to identify himself with the body and not to be affected by the pleasures or pains consequent on the body’s activities." I say that we have as much free will as when we make a choice in a dream. In the dream, we believe we are making a choice, but actually we are not. The dream just happens, the dream just unfolds. We are not really conscious in the dream. This waking state we have now is just a dream. Only truth is true wakeness.
this teaching is the same "get into the vortex" of Abraham, e.g. Intention and desire arise by themselves. What we need is just to release resistance to the moment. This occurs when we get into the vortex, good feelings, feel realized etc. Then magic begins. Albeit seemingly paradoxical, it's the same practice.
I would like to hear Mooji speak on physical, unrelenting body chronic pain, and how to live with that, which is so very painful.... not knowing how to get any relief. Thank you.
We have choice. Great talk, once again. It's good to realize we are not completely in control; although the evidence of it is straight in our face, we often tend to dismiss it. I have fought for so long, to the point of death.
ok again../lol...he clarifies we are *the witness* .. "as long as we have sense of being an independent, particular person, to the same extent choice-making would be a virile state." he's basically saying what i said. obviously this is a very tough subject. it's been argued by philosophers from time immemorial. however, i think the answer is finally taking shape, and it's forming on the side of the freedom resulting from destiny. as krishnamurti called it, "choiceless awareness."
It might be easier to understand if you knew about the difference between the "I" as a person (only the body & mind) versus the "I" as consciousness, as he explains in another video titled: "Illness & Self-Discovery -Mooji" When the "I, as consciousness" makes the choices, life becomes SO easy & blissful!
That's the paradox the mind can't grasp. You are not residing in the self, you are Self. Playing a role is in itself wholly subjective. Residing in the self can be misconstrued to suggest there is a point of reference in the self, when there is none. And from this primary non-point, an "I" presents itself. So the idea of choice is inherently flawed. There is no real choice. You are the Self.
@MalyshevEvgeniy ----- i havent yet viewed this vid, but i would say that there is no such thing as free will or choice. who would it pertain to? if the ego was truly real, it would have a choice. it's not. incidentally there is a whole realm of proof that free will would be impossible. if mooji would disagree, it'd be the first thing he said that i'd disagree with!
Thats true and because of this truth it makes watching mooji confusing at times since every word he speaks is a thought in itself. There is no mooji or no seperate person asking him question's on choice. Now that being said what is it that actually gives attention to objects or projections of the mind? What actually makes the choice of either residing in Self or playing a role?
@philinmotion, tnx for your replay. I know what you mean but..if I drop the illusion/the belief, than the Motivation is also gone. I know that the word Success has many meanings but what I actually mean by Success here is "reaching the top of something worldly". If Michael Jordan wasn't motivated to be "the best player in the world" I'm not sure that he would be that. And the same goes on to many great leaders in their fields. Just, can't everybody be Mooji...
@watnamecaniuseforfs good one xD somewhat yeah in a way we are both right because we said the same thing its not the words its the meaning, 'there' would always be right here right now my friend xD where else could it be?
@MacedonianMusic what do you need wordly success for, cut to the essential. You have to do something in order for something to happen? I'd question that. It takes great effort to entertain belief, but no effort at all to realize the truth. Drop your security of belief. For me, I find that I have a main focus and that everything falls into place. You can chase the illusion or step into this moment. We have to let go of our narrow idea about what we need in order to find what we truly need.
How does this teaching fit with the intention to achieve something or get something perhaps using the law of attraction where one asks and releases to the universe to deliver? In this one has to be focused & specific & have faith that it is coming when it cannot be seen in physical reality. Are these teachings compatible? We live in the physical world & interact with people, things & circumstances. Is it wrong to set an intention, take action & move towards a goal?
Even Mooji misses the real question. If GOD is complete and needs nothing, then why does anything exist at all? Why create the stage and fill it, and put on the show at all? There had to be awareness, thought, intent and a reason to create material things, there has to be a purpose for life, that goes beyond simply being.
no of course its not wrong .. as long as you rest in knowing that ANYTHING you intend, act on, move towards in this world doesn't alter who you already ARE ... which is unchanging and eternal. I think the journey is part of the play ... and in itself it brings understanding that no matter how much we journey, we have never really left ..... I think its called illusion, maya .. doesn't mean its wrong .. it can't be, if it is included and happening .. but Mooji only asks who is it happening to ... ? and leaves us to answer that .. x
ok, mooji says we have *limited* choice; and then wisely goes on to give the aaspirant the "choice" of whether or not the idea of having choice is agreeable or not to them. (btw, no jnani or enlightened one knows everything! he could be wrong or i could be wrong, no matter..) the woman's concern about spanking child" her "choice" comes from heart compulsion, not the mind. i'd say choice is only an appearance. as sri ramana said, our only real choice is how mentally we react to life.
You witness your body get hungry, the intention to go shopping, your hands preparing the meal, your mouth tasting and swallowing, and enjoying the tase. No problem. You imagine problems in something quite spontanious..
We are all actors in a play. There is a script. Did we choose the part? And how do we play it out now so that we can have peace? That is my question. Did I pick up the wrong script? Why would I make these choices if I had a choice?
Actually, you are the observer of the act what is happening in the play. And at the same time you are the play itself. Nothing is outside of you. If there is nothing, just You, than there is no one who can make a choice also. No chooser equal no choice. It still looks like we can make a choice, but it was already decided what we are going to choose. Even before the idea of the choice came to our mind.
I cannot thank you enough for this message today. It's a great confirmation.
