    This is so so true. Everything is still going on like before, but you don't babysit them anymore. I laugh every day no matter what is going on in Life. My co-workers keep asking me to share the happy pill. There is no pill. I just can't explain it. It is simple. Whatever is going on in my Life" Body and mind ", I am not.

    His words on free will and the last bit where he talks about how the identity and the peaceful natural self are both seen from the wordless place are so profound. Mooji is a mind samurai! Chop chop! :D He throws logic bombs into your mind... like a virus to bring down the whole structure of the mind. Every sentence is a koan. >_< Thank you Mooji and Mooji's entourage! Bless you for helping us hear these words.

    All I know is that I am not in charge. I have never really done anything the idea that I ever did do anything was just an illusion. I am nothing. I'm not sure if I even exist. When you take yourself out of the equation life becomes very peaceful.

    I know I am still feeling the pull of the mind-body but it's not as strong as it was. It doesn't happen as much and when it does, I stop feeding the thoughts and emotions. I start asking myself until I remember my true self again, then I am good.

    Mooji takes you back to a place of pure presence and awareness, but this place is just one of many places that lace the infinity of your being. The idea of having no identity is itself just an idea one can identify with. What about the essence of your being, the heart of your being, the core nature of your being, the unique gem of your spirit, this is the true identity, and this is just as much forged as it is found.

    Love Mooji!!! This particular video about Free Will & Predeterminism is very close to what Ramesh Balsekar teaches. That you will always have an Ego that feels and knows it is a separate identification with your particular body/person But an enlightened Ego is one that now realizes and is convinced on the deepest possible level that it is Not the Doer of Actions. You have completely Free Will to do whatever you want. So do whatever you want. But you have absolutely no control over the Result. That has already been determined by the Cosmic Law or G-D. It is a Movie that has already been shot and is in the can and printed and out in all the theaters of the Cosmos. So when you have the deepest conviction and understanding that you have complete free will to do whatever you think is best or not best...but the result has already been predetermined completely at the Big Bang. Therefore, whether you flip a coin or research and weigh all the facts for a year before deciding makes No difference. The outcome will be exactly the same. The only practice Ramesh recommends if you want to call it a practice he says...is....to pick any action that you did earlier today or any time in your life and ask yourself if it is really your action. Dwell and chew on it for awhile and he says you will come to the conclusion that there were so many previous factors determining your taking a particular thought into action that you will come to the conclusion that it can not be your actual decision...it happened because of cause and effects that have already been predetermined and happened accordingly. This is an inadequate explanation of the logic...recommend watching/listening to Ramesh if interested in this most basic of Advaita pointings. Beside all that....Mooji is pure Love. Such a good Friend.

    I sense at times when I am lifted above I can almost laugh at my perceived predicament.
    I am still having trouble digesting what you are saying. Yes i meditated up to two hours a day for years and I understand about letting the thoughts come and go till the mind quietens. Now I have this thing happening where every thought is creating realities in my mind. I tell myself that they are only thoughts but haven't been able to stop this.
    Yes and I understand that when you have the choice to create what you want it creates much more confusion and unrest. I'm feeling trapped right now. It may be somehow my creation but it certainly is not what I want. At the same time, my desires have gone a lot. I have served many in my life; now I feel stopped and isolated. I don't like this all the time. I like solitude, however I like to interact with people as well. I feel like I am blind and in unchartered territory. I feel like so many want to control me to do what THEY think I should do. We all have different beliefs and thoughts and experiences. I am happy to listen to others and take from it what is helpful, however I don't want to put myself under somebody completely, because it feels like then I have lost ME.

    In that aspect you are a vehicle, in which you could say something flowed through you and that's how you created the painting. I paint as well and I know the feeling of being in that moment, where you don't know how your hand is moving the way it is. It's magical. However, even if you are the vehicle then you can still get credit for the job. You don't need to find out the "me" to have the realization that the body created a painting. When my car takes me from point A to B I say good job, car.

    The absence of a doer is still a concept, the absence of a god is called Atheism, and that's also a concept. So there's no way out of concepts. You can talk about no-mind, but you wouldn't know it because you need mind to reappear for you to know you're in that state! The more you try to be in that state, the further away you are from no-mind. Ramana M. mentioned the story of the diver diving for pearls. Read that and meditate on it. You are observing yourself and making logical self made truths

  • @rudinghton

    What is whith responsability for your own thoughts and actions? If You detach yourself from your thoughts and actions If You’re taught to observe your patterns as if watching passersby on the street. A sense of detachment ensues when you do not pass judgment on yourself. Suddenly your actions seem less impactful, less dangerous. Also if you do not deal seriusly with bad emotions and patterns and you just observe them, then they will tend to repeat itself over and over again and this is like you have problem which neads serious attention, and dedication to be solved and you then, insted of deal properly with it, do not identified yourself with it, not attach yourself with it, you just try to observe it and you pretend that this problem feels light and you just asume that this problem will go away and will solve itself by itself while you stay passive. But this is not the way to function properly in life.

    Things id ask Mooji.
    ❓Why did he and roughly 10% see it clearly amongst their life and the other 90% of the population doesn't?
    ❓Is the reason people don't quickly recognize the obvious because obscure, vague words are chosen instead of common language? An Atheists sing song version of reality. I love this version better than Richard Sylvester, Tony Parsons or Jim Newman's.

    The question does not really match your concern you then stated. Living in fear and or worry about possible things that could happen in your life is a choice. There are thousands of stories one could imagine happening, and then live in fear of the happening. but have they? if it has happened to you, then you can accept it or not accept it. If it has not happened, then it's just a fear or worry which are emotions and thoughts and what ifs. living in the moment is accepting what is true now.

    I believe that there is “will” and there are “decisions/actions”. The term “free will” is completely ridiculous in my opinion. A decision is always based upon factors. The will is channelled to what is perceived as the best option. What would be the value of a decision which wasn’t based upon factors of any kind? The value of any decision is the fact that it’s based upon factors and made using a predicted future outcome. Imagine the pointlessness of deciding tea when you wanted coffee, or going to Wales when you wanted to go to Spain. Free will would be completely worthless and it’s absolutely no loss to not have such an ability. I think that the fault is the premise that there is a separate self which is completely independent from the rest of the universe. We are mind-bodies which inter-be with all things. From the perspective of the will which is channelled to obtain the best outcome for the individual, it is completely free and chooses to act towards the most favourable outcome according to the known factors at the time.

    I disagree with the last bit about free will. The awareness does NOT have any investment in outcome, it is NOT putting its thumb on the scale like this. That is mind activity. Even the impulse to redirect attention is firstly subconscious, then (very shortly) later enters conscious awareness where ego claims the choice as its own. Free will and choice are obvious concessions to a separate do-er -- there is no "room" for this separate one influencing outcome. There is only one will, some call it "God's Will" others just call it "what is". Strange miss from mooji.

    If its all a play, why should there be a need to awaken from the dream? Let the dream go on. All the misery, suffering, restlessness, pain, killing is part of play, why stop the play by self-realization? ... it should culminate on its own

    • @peachin74
      @peachin74 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right but why do I have a tendency to interfere? .. if soul is pure, why is it interfering? .. and this interference is not just interference its a sick ego .. so much suffering in the world because of this interference .. I dont think soul is pure .. however it can become pure by choosing to drop the ego and embrassing love .. then world wpuld be a better place

    • @peachin74
      @peachin74 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think we chose .. nobody wpuld choose to be miserable .. I think we are forced to be here till we drop the ego .. just like a prisoner is kept in prison till his sick mind is healed .. after that he is free to enjoy with other good souls

    • @peachin74
      @peachin74 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats what I am saying .. we are not pure .. we have ego .. when ego is gone then we can call ourselves pure. On other point I think, we also are non physical .. soul is energy which can interact with matter and experience it .. our current body is matter and we are the souls ruling it

    • @peachin74
      @peachin74 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      So similarly god is also energy which rules over matter

    • @peachin74
      @peachin74 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We are unborn actually .. but we always had this choice to either belong to everyone or be self centered .. if we choose ego we are put here with others like us and if we are merged in love then we stay in that higher state or maybe another world where everyone is filled with selfless love towards everyone .. birth and death stop when we drop ego and if we dont then we are put in this prison to reform ourselve ... and our memories are so weak because of turmoil in our heads that we dont even remember what happened 2 days back and the same reason makes ur forget our past lives also .. but that doesn't mean they dont exist .. example is that as a child we may have done many activities which we dont remember but if we ask our father he will tell us all of them .. so even though we may think they dont exist but we will have to logically agree that yes they did happen

    I don't see how you can take this line of thinking all the way through and be content, loving, compassionate, free. The experience of freedom and love and all that--that's what we want right? Well, if you take this reasoning all the way, then you're not those experiences, you're just the "seer" or "the witness" of them. They're just more illusions, more fluff that the mind invents. Also, you witness the witnessing/the witness---therefore you can't be a witness according to this logic, since you must be "prior to" and independent of something to witness it--according to this logic. Notice: the feeling of love is partially physical/partially mental and NOTHING ELSE. There are sensations in your body, there are thoughts in your mind, there are dispositions to act in loving ways--this is all body/mind. If we shed the body/mind, and we're just the witness-we may be free, but free of everything--complete nothings that can't enjoy the fruits of this self-inquiry. We're just detached, cut-off, non-entities. If that's your notion of freedom, well, it's the same as mummification. Moreover, why is the brain NEVER mentioned in these talks???

      Who wants freedom, you or the mind?

      The distinction between the mind and the "true self" seems the same as the distinction between Mt. Fuji and big thing and I don't take it seriously

      Well, that's good. Life is not so serious. I simply asked because you say you want freedom. Are you in bondage now? What are you looking for when you watch these videos?

      We all want a certain kind of freedom. I didn't say I particularly want it because I don't have it :-) Regarding the question of free will, I believe the only valuable kind of freedom necessarily involves some constraints. Pure freedom without constraints literally is meaningless. I watch these videos because I'm interested in different conceptions of self/consciousness.

      If free will is anything, it's the choice of our attention and action. Pure freedom does not exist because we do not have absolute control. We have very little control. We only have control over our choice of attention and action. I find that when I am empty of intention, moving freely comes naturally. When I identify with reactions and desires of the body, mind, etc, things start to constrict.
      We all oscillate between wanting more and accepting what is. This is my experience of "mind vs self". There is a genuine pull toward a higher will that does not desire, a will-less will. I only say this to share what I see when I remain silent. There are obviously surface desires that will always come, but when they are accepted for what they are, they lose all weight and power. So whatever comes, let it come. If it comes, it will also go. This is eternal freedom to me. I don't need to do anything. If there is a practice, it is simply not engaging in thoughts and actions that I know bear no fruit.
      If you are interested in advaita, and you haven't read or watched Ramana Maharshi, I encourage you to seek him out. He is very direct and simple. He does not speak about concepts, only what is.

    Yikes, when you talk so much you forget the question...
    I would say that in the common maintenance of life we always come across perturbment and it's always natural to recognize that influence. As a matter of fact I would say it would be most unfortunate if that wasn't necessary in society. I understood most of what the speaker was talking about in the beginning when it came to the flow of energy affecting free-will but he lost me after a bit. Naturally every force will have the equal and opposite but where free will comes into play is where we typically react with whatever response is most habitual to us in the moment.
    Our experiences have imprinted on us memories that spark our impulses. To say that every experience has affected each individual to the same cognitive degree would be short-sighted and so our past becomes an immense variety of cause-and-effect moments. The moment then simply becomes the choice. To slim it down to the inth degree, Your mother and your father tell you to do something in a different way. How many possible factors could this have? Your trust in either parent due to how they've acted toward you? The response illustrated by one when they don't agree? Your own self-efficacy?
    All of these things are imprinted on us and arrive at your final choice. We don't consciously go through this of course, no one has time for that. But the choice is always yours because the result is always yours. There is no choice without responsibility, this is why responsibility is never a choice.
    A good idea would be to simply make a choice to make a habit of making good choices.

    Dear seeker of the real truth.
    Unless the insight of high and low that is high note metaphysical and low note physical, has been known simple and clear, man only fantasizes life's potential and optimum self realization is capricious claim.
    Simply, fantasy of self realization is so devious malice that, playing the high and low willingly at full conscious, becomes incomprehensible feat.

    Mooji often has an arrogant attitude though, that's what I don't like about him. He may know something but he always repeats himself, always uses the same concepts. I think he overestimates himself massively, it's the destiny of so many "teachers".. still, life is the best and ONLY teacher, not a human being. You only need life, not a human "teacher" of life.

    What you seem to be conveying is another believe system. I'm not really interested in converting you to something else because I don't believe there's an absolute truth to be taught. To me the body gives rise to the idea that it's a first person who is in this world, this is relatively correct and to claim that there's no doership or free will does not help humanity at all. I don't know what moves my hand in the intense moment of painting because I don't pretend to know the answer, it just flows
