I like Rudy’s recordings the way they were originally pressed. It’s history! I just acquired a Steve Allen first pressing, Jazz for Tonight, on Coral 1955. Check it out. Fantastic!
Excellent , informative...man I have really taken to all your vids. My collection has grown in wonderful ways because of your review vids. Please keep going.
That Van Gelder story is tough to hear, cuz Michael is so right. That house was a part of US history, and should never have been demolished, but instead turned into a museum. Man, do I love those orange label 1st Impulse records too. I’ve unfortunately only got a handful of em, but they’re some of my prized possessions. That story about the Beatles mono “kangaroo jump” records was great, and I feel extremely fortunate to own a copy of that mono box set from 2014. What a beautiful sounding bunch of records. Love Michael’s DVD’s! I bought both of them. He forgot to mention his other one, “It’s a vinyl world after all”. Ken, thank you so much for doing these vids with Michael and Art. They are truly wonderful!
I'm English I live in UK. Bought Thelonious Monk, Album: Thelonious Monk Orchestra at Town Hall, New York. Bought this Album in 1960 in Manchester. How about terrific Pepper Adams only solo on this album. .
Yeah -Well- I certainly noticed the bass increase by the Beatles...and..didn’t know what to attribute it to....but was glad to hear this interesting interpretation of the ‘cause’ of the ‘effect’.
Love it! I love Michael's passion and knowledge even though I'm all dig***l in music. Don't tell him I have a bunch of those RVG CDs, and still like the music.
Another classic episode man Michael Fremer house is a wall of wax I can spend days there that Art Blakey & Jazz Messengers A night in tunisia is so good very cool OG stereo pressing. Ken great questions I always dig you interviews Michael Fremer turntable setup wow. Lovellandrew

Michael Have you ever heard the Lee Morgan rendition of A night in tunsia. Great percussion on this verison as well. on the blue note series th-cam.com/video/lOIgcC0lPkU/w-d-xo.html
Turntable design fascinates me but I don't see all that much real engineering going on in turntables anymore. I'd like to build a real hard core turntable but I don't have the machining resources yet. Several commercial tables get one thing pretty good but no one gets it all right.
Couldn't watch this video and not be distracted constantly by the focus of the camera which obviously had a hard time while Michael was standing next to the cabinet full of records.
Thanks Ken I needed a little break and listening to Michael is always enlightening and fun.Great job as always...

I enjoy Michael’s passion and knowledge about the history of music and recording. Very nice interview.

As always a fascinating and inspiring film. What is that recording in the last few minutes of the film?
What is the speaker at 0:10?
The Riversides always had clicks and pops in the pressings. I replaced them all in the 80s with the Japanese pressings.
Thanks, Ken. Great stuff. 🔥
That FM side voice is hilarious.
Great 👍🏻

Out of the park once again 😊
How could folks give these brilliant video clips a downward thumb?
I like the dCS in the background 😀
Where does Michael buy his turntable lamps/lighting?
Fantastic series, for which many thanks. However the annoying music background is so unnecessary.
Didn't know Night in Tunisia originally came out as a gatefold 😂
"..the FM side..."; definitely my side.
ANOTHER ONE!
Original tape vs what was released?Onf of the final lines of "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" is "When the legend becomes fact print the Legend"
man, i want that 84049
That background music is soooo distracting
also dont talk and turn your phone off. otherwise 5/5

Funny thing about Michael... He talks a lot bout records but never plays them in the video's...
Turntable design fascinates me but I don't see all that much real engineering going on in turntables anymore. I'd like to build a real hard core turntable but I don't have the machining resources yet. Several commercial tables get one thing pretty good but no one gets it all right.
You haven't looked carefully enough!
"Vinyl was never any good." Rudy Van Gelder
"record nazi"... that's so great!! So I'm still a record nazi... :D
RVG was overrated. I never thought his recordings were all that natural.
Try a new reissue from Music Matters Jazz and you might change your mind...
that monk record is 360$ in the online shop of ERC ... :-( no thanks
U got plenty of lps.stop complaning.u got most originals
I stoped after 20 sec's because of the background music.
Couldn't watch this video and not be distracted constantly by the focus of the camera which obviously had a hard time while Michael was standing next to the cabinet full of records.
huh? camera was on a tripod. I didn't touch it
oh I was having focus issues. Sorry
Sorry i disliked this video only because of Michael fremer
You're entitled.
