I think the reason Peter and his friends are able to resist the corruption is because it makes you do terrible things and everyone in family guy does pretty terrible things
I think it was mainly because they also have strong will power you see as you know most of the family guy characters are but they also care for each other like stewie was able to bring Peter out tho that’s my therory
One theory I have about how characters like Peter and quagmire are able to wrestle back control goes as follows; if the theory on the original trailer for L.W.P is correct, in that the glitch wave is a physical manifestation of fandom corruption, which distorts and taints things like cartoon characters into horrifying monsters, and seems to target cartoons that have since run their course, my theory is that cartoon characters part of a show that is still running have much more integrity to their body and mind, as they still have a consistent canon viewpoint for the audience, as opposed to a cancelled cartoon, which would only have fan-made media to be based around for the later years. Or, another theory is that “family guy” is one of the few cartoons included as of now that technically cannot be considered a traditional cartoon show, as it was confirmed in one episode that all of the griffins, as well as the rest of the cast, were actors on a sit-com-esc TV show. This is only speculation on my part, though, as I wasn’t the one to make the mod, nor the trailer for the show, as well as the fact that there’s probably a mod or two that contradicts theory #1.
Adding on to this, even though, as of writing this, Family Guy is still getting episodes, *it has been cancelled in the past*, so they could get corrupted, because it has been cancelled in the past, and uncorrupted, because of the new episodes.
if you look closely at the point where it looks like stewie gets KO, he teleports out of there right when Lois gets him. Credits for this secret goes to some random commenter on a family guy pibby showcase. Edit: I have a new conspiracy theory. Every time we’re close to dying it looks like for certain characters they are corrupted. Such as Brian in a family guy and stewie in a rotten family. They both end up getting corrupted. Peter after falling out of the corruption, his icon no longer is corrupted. So for future songs, we should keep an eye out for corrupted icons to predict who gets corrupted next.

And Quagmire being immune to most viruses due to his night life nature. These 2 types give them an edge over the pibby virus, even if it didn't matter in the end.
It makes sense to an extent. Peter has been able to fight off any sickness and all physical damage to his body. How else would be able to survive all those Chicken fights. So it would make sense that he could fight of the corruption.
Actually if you look in the files (I looked in the updated version) stewie actually teleports out of there before he gets caught, but gets corrupted off screen. I won’t spoil more of the updated mod but let’s just say joe is the only lucky one here (ps. You were right bf survives)
Peter is actually very powerful considering all the things he has done he has reversed time he can wish whatever he wants by saying “ Man this is worse than that time I whatever you want to put here” which is a gag in the show with his durability being off the charts
just saying is that in the second song where stewie quote on quote "dies" he actually teleported away as you can see in his hand when corrupted Lois swiped at him. Also I'd like to mention that a story that was heard in the back story was that peter was at the clam and when going home he was startled by the darkness and it had corrupted him and totaled his car. When Lois realized peter didn't come home, she went searching for him and when she found the car peter attacked her corrupting Lois. As what meg the other adult in the house went searching along side Chris while stewie and brain stayed back. Then meg saw Lois but she was manifesting from a figure which was peter. and the reason meg was inside of peters mouth was because she was basically eaten alive but was just inside of peter and when corrupted peter and Lois split Chris was chased by Lois not to realize peter was in front of him back first and Chris was corrupted but stack to peters back. So that's why you see Chris basically manifesting from peters back. Then the corrupted family was lured in by boyfriend approaching the griffins house causing to lead peter in. then when Brain gets corrupted he basically pushed stewie out of the way of Lois attacked and stewie heartbroken and scared knew he needed a plan to escape so he dug in his bag to find the mini teleportation device. When stewie teleports away and corrupted brain closes in on peter after he's rejected from the corruption, he jumped from his window and ran to Brian's car and drove away and that's where the story comes to a cliff hanger.

Stewie corrupts Quagmire before He saves Stewie. Cleveland was corrupted in a song called fashioned values so Joe is the only character to not be corrupted however in an unreleased songs called aftermath Joe seems to to be corrupted along with Clevleand and Quagmire. Brian has 2 orher unreleased songs. Cleveland's son is named Rallo
I think the reason why Peter resist the corruption because how weird and goofy he is and doesn't have alot of story so the corruption wasn't strong enough for this world

Stewie actually doesn't get corrupted in the mod. in the white space scene while hes fighting lois, he teleports away before lois can get him.
I just surprised that out of all the corrupted characters Peter is the one who breaks free of the corruption

Cleveland was corrupted in a song called fashioned values so Joe is the only character to not be corrupted however in an unreleased songs called aftermath Joe seems to to be corrupted along with Clevleand and Quagmire. Brian has 2 orher unreleased songs. Cleveland's son is named Rallo
I think the reason why Peter resist the corruption because how weird and goofy he is and doesn't have alot of story so the corruption wasn't strong enough for this world

You did pretty much some this up pretty well but Cleveland actually dead get corrupted and has his own song called fashioned values but quagmire and joe save him from the corruption And I was pretty sad to see that quagmire got corrupted in the end but at least he saved Cleveland And the rest of his friends He died in honorable man but who knows he might be on corrupted in the future you never know

Stewie can’t actually Shoot Peter, why? Because He’s out of bullets ( I think that’s the case )
Boyfriend doesn’t get corrupted, he just gets thrown to the window after refusing
