    I am a new truck driver , just got my license at age 50. I did a total career change from floral designer for huge event companies to truck driver . I find really hard with trainers at the school and companies is that everyone teaches you so many way to drive . It’s all confusing at times . I find worth your videos I can reprogram my brain, absorb more information in a clear way. I just kind of lost the intimidation part of driving a 53 footer , so now I can concentrate more on parking . Thank you for the videos .

    I’m in school right now they never told me that the problem is if you see to much on the trailer turn towards that way they just said chase the problem and I thought I’d turn towards the side that I didn’t see the trailer that should help me out so much!! Gonna give it a try thank you!

    The aerial view is the most helpful here. Being able to see the wheel position, truck position. Even though I have a pickup and 18' trailer this is still an excellent tool. All other videos on backing up any trailer is from the point-of-view of driver's seat or someone outside the truck. "turn the wheel" means zero if you cant see which way. Much appreciation! Thanks.

    YES! I like the new format with the steering and wheel movements combined with how their movements are affecting the tractor and trailer. Excellent. I've been in trucking school for a month or so and one thing I think many new students struggle with is the fact that any direction change one wants to make must first start with straightening the rig by chasing the trailer. It's one of the finer points or details that hasn't been emphasized by my schools' instructors enough and this birds eye view with the new format really helps. Good work.

    @datbtrue 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    He's Amazing and you can easily see that he perfectly analyzes the entire Mechanism of action with this beast we call " Backing" I just finished my CDL training and I have my test this Tuesday, Oct.20/2020. Backing has always been tricky for me with a trailer. No other vehicles, I'm good lol. I watched all this man's videos and found him to be the very best in teaching backing. Many instructors can spot you and tell you which way to steer and when to move up etc..But Very few can teach so you can wrap your brain around it. MTS does it with such precision and addresses every trick and problem you'll inevitably encounter. Drone footage with various youtube training goes a long way. 2 weeks ago, I got into American truck Driving SIM and it is excellent for understanding the trucks physics and angles during parking/back ups. I use a thrustmaster set and am waiting on Track IR.
    I think this man's game will be on a different level as you constantly see the lines~ tractor and trailer and you see steer tires and steering wheel. This is key and invaluable in my opinion. I cannot wait to play his game on all levels eventually. Like he said, he has thousands of back ups so at this point it's like brushing your teeth and walking. He knows instinctively what he'll do and where the truck/trailer will and can go. it's like Chess for him . He's courteous enough to feel passionate with conveying all his skills and advanced set-ups so that we can get to better and more tricky back-ups within a shorter period of time

  • @c.thompson9771
    @c.thompson9771 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Awesome! I can SEE the steers!!
    NOW it's making a TON more sense.
    I need SETUP scenarios, especially for tight BUZY lots/yards.
    Just for shiggles, add deep mudpuddles/rises, that might/and do, create lost of traction, intermittently, while a doin' all this.
    When ya gotta switch on yer interaxles, and there's NO snow, sigh . ..

    YUSSSSS Another fine video to explain in what I deem to be, is the basic fundamental of backing up rigs. No I am not experienced. . . in fact, I just finished a Transport training school, and I did not pass my road test for a few reasons. One of them being I just could not do what many called a simple 90 degree alley backup. Well it's not "simple" to me.
    David at My Trucking Skills, in my opinion, has given me insight into looking at backing up from a different perspective. Thanks Brother !!! And I fully intend to get around to watching every video you put out to date. :)

      @lightwarrior270 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MyTruckingSkills Okay as promised my updated progress, after downloading your game and putting it to practice I've been able to straight back with a 95% accuracy. (its when I get "overconfidence" I mess up haha....so got to keep humble and patience as I master this skillset_
      I must say the game was more tricky to get used to than being in the real truck, also I must say at the school I'm attending we train with a 28ft trailer.
      1) the concept the shorter the trailer faster react time/drift, so if you can master the shorter trailer longer trailer are much easier, and I actually tested that concept on your game.
      2) One suggestion on the game I'm not sure as I haven't tried the difficult level as yet, maybe create a section called beginners only instead of the practice section.
      plus little comments that most beginners make...say a bubble message....anyway just want to thank you for the creation of this App.
      3) Also to all first timer that is beginning their journey to become a professional Truck driver, this app is a definite must-have.
      One last thing I have no ties to My Trucking Skills this comment is my honest opinion thus far after viewing his videos and downloading the app.

      Well , Dave; it’s been almost 1yr, since I started my journey of becoming a professional Trucker Driver.
      1) I wanted to thank you for the App, which I used and helped tremendously during obtaining my CDL and even after when obtaining my First job.
      2) Speaking of First Job…I started off with MAY TRUCKING, Reefer Division 48 States.
      3) Great Company to learn the ropes of this industry
      4) I was Dispatched out of Brook’s mainly drove mid-west route eastern state, Penn, IL, Chicago, Mich, Colorado, Wyom, even south and as far as Florida.
      5) After cutting my teeth/gaining my experience switched over to J.B. Hunt.
      6) I’m back on the west coast doing regional their .99 cent account.
      7) This is where your app comes into play, the majority of store’s are located in strip malls, not designed for 53 footer with a sleeper.
      8) So thank’s to your App, it’s been not as difficult, but it’s still challenging, it’s not dock’s it’s the customers cars blocking your/my path. haha
      9) I wish I had paid attention to your video on trailer swing, had an incident, entered a entrance between 1:30-2:00am, light pole light not working Making a right into entrance and the gate not fully open. You guessed it..I tried going through without first getting out and pushing gate all the way opening, my 14 wheel on the trailer passenger side clipped the pole. Yup knocking it down.
      10) The Edison guy said the pole was hit many times prior and base was weaken but I happened to finish off the job…well folks take my advice get out and look (G0AL) I didn’t and now I’m dealing with the aftermath.

    Very good, in my point of view as a beginner, the straight backing is the most important to accomplish the offset and parallel backing technique.

      You are absolutely the best! It's been a while since I've viewed your videos because I have been out of trucking for a few months.. I LOVE you simulator bc I think it simplifies everything for new drivers. With the previous videos , I felt that they were too busy- too much to look at. Never-the-less you're always the best! Thank you for improving upon your skills in simplifying this information for new drivers!

    I just purchased the game on IOS, it’s so fun, 🤩, I am like a kid in a candy store 😅😂😊, my problem at school is that there is a lot of students over 90+ but there are about 6 trucks and 6 instructors available for all of us on a waiting line, in and out not enough time to really learn what the truck can do.

      Keep playing the same level over and over again till you can back up without stopping. Even if you are playing it 1000 times, you will start building up a great backing habit to where your brain just starts to do everything automatically. Play level 56.
