Hey you guys! So today I am using Magic Hair Rollers on my natural hair. These are very similar to perm rods or Flexi rods, as they give a nice spiral heatless curl. I found these on Amazon, a 40 pack for only $7.99. Much more affordable than perm rods/flexi rods, which are usually are around the same price with only 12 a pack.

That's great! I learned how to pin curl my hair using my mother's cosmetology book (1970's) and these look like a better option rather than bobby pins!

Gail Harris - Yes! They have been around since, prob 50’s, my Mom and her Sisters used them. They were used on me in late 60’s
They were quite smaller back then; made of soft rubber, if memory serves me. They were very durable. ☺️

My mother set my hair with something similar in the early 60s. It's fun to see them again. I think theyare definitely kinder to the hair and more comfortable than perm rods. And you look adorable while your hair is all set!

I bought these from my local beauty supply store 10-12 pieces for $2. I purchased these to pincurl my salon silk pressed hair . I didn't want to wrap my hair I wanted the curls the next day without adding heat. I normally pincurl w/pins. But these worked perfectly. I roll from the bottom up. Even when my roots started to revert my armpit length hair just looked fuller. I went back and bought the last 4 packs thinking it was the best kept secret. Now I found this video and learned I'm late. I was suprise to see they work on wet hair . I'm looking fwd to trying this style. Thanks for video

Ok, first of all. Now I realize why your hair always turns out so perfect. You REALLY take your TIME! It takes you 2 hours to do normal perm rod sets?! 😩🙌🏾 I’m so nervous about trying these!

Bought the Clairol ones in the 90's that had a heating tray. Still use them. I use them heated for looser curls on any given day & on wet hair, no heat if I want the look of a bantu knot out. 47 now & bought them when I was 19 or 20

Never thought I’d see these again. Spookiest were popular when I was a child, and I’m now 68. They weren’t pink or quite as large but basically the same thing that my mom put in my 9 yr old’s hair. How strange! Your results were much better than my mom’s!

I didnt learn how to do my hair until a few years ago by watching TH-cam. Our hair is beautiful I'm learning to love it. I threw out my flatiron my hair was always damaged.

Thank you for making this video! My 6 year old daughter has pretty wavy hair, very close to curly hair, and I’ve been looking at better ways to style her hair since it’s getting longer. I have completely flat straight hair so I’ve never needed to know the best ways to style it because it won’t hold a style to save it’s life. I’ll definitely be buying these and giving them a try on her hair, thanks 👍

Like many commentors here, I'm 60 and I used these when I was in Jr. High School. I loved these. They were easy to sleep on. And no, there isn't a whole lot new under the sun. Spoolies are old. They were popular in the 50's & 60's. Mom used them on our hair that was dried, pressed and straightened by hot comb and then rolled.

I used to have a similar set! They would heat similar to hot rollers and then you could leave them in extra long.
