I don't know if there was something wrong with the specific Nano unit you tested, but there is absolutely NOTHING muffled about the sound of the Ananda Nano. At its price point nothing comes close to touching it for clarity, detail, resolution, or any other aspect of technical performance. If it wasn't for the now price reduced Focal Ckear OG and HiFiMan Arya, which can now be purchased for just under $1,000, you'd have to spend over $1,200 to find something that surpasses the Nano's technical chops. The Ananda Nano does have a couple of real relative weaknesses. The main one is that fresh out of the box, the treble spikes are a bit much. For me, they did settle down after about 40 hrs. The can still sound a bit too bright whenever sound hits right at the frequencies where those spikes peak. But, once they're broken in, it's rarely a problem on anything that's well recorded. Those who are very treble sensitive and are able to EQ, can easily tame the highs by lowering 4KHz and 8KHz by about 3db. It's worth the effort because at the new $499 price point, these are an INSANE VALUE.
Probably it is his Zen Can/Dac combo. I got the same Amp/Dac combo and I noticed this on my Edition XS when comparing them to my AKG K712 Pro's on Far Cry 5. I could hear much cleaner the birds chirping, flies buzzing on the AKG's than on my Edition XS. Had to EQ the mids from 1K to 4K on my Edition XS so I can hear these details better.
I just listened to them on a 3000€ Amp/Dac combo in a high end audio store. The first thing i noticed was the somewhat muffled bass... so i totally agree with his discribtion
So you obviously get some kind of kickback from razer, because there's no way you seriously compared a mediocre wireless gaming HEADSET... to an Ananda Nano. Stop it.
Hfiman makes the best period you can own a 200$ version it 6000$ version of their headphone it will always be the most resolving the most spacious and hard enough hitting.
Bro!!! If you love a full sound signature then I can't stop thinking about these Arya Organics for you. It is as full as I can see it getting to real life It's not overcoloring it, or it's dry sounding. the sound signature it's just on point. And you can hear everything!!! It's not like shoving Details down your ear drums. It's just so natural. It's Unreal how real it sounds. It does gaming really well and music very well. If you're looking for something That does that both there you go. It has an MSRP of 1300 dollars, which is the only downside.
@@The-Oreo-Man I’m happy to spend 1000 - 1300. My main use will be for gaming. Then music and movies second. My concern is sound leak into the mic. I’d hate for my online friends to complain they can hear themselves or my music etc.
@Puppylucky888 OK, how loud do you listen. This is a weird question, but a cam jam(Headphone show) is happening in Irvine, California, USA. I'm saying this because im going to have some fun listening to headphones and stuff. It's also a good place to find your perfect headphones. Do you play pc or Xbox? Because an amplifier and dac can make it sound so much better. Now I have a HE1000se. The Treble for the Arya Organic was way too much for me. The HE1000se gives you x-ray hearing hacks in gaming😅. The biggest difference between both is the details in the imaging and soundstage. Basically, you know how a very busy track with lots of instruments blends together, sounding muddy/ due to the driver can't reproduce all the frequency at once. The Arya gets only ⅖ of the way to the HE1000se. It's that big of a difference. But the downside is the price of $1700, but it's gone down from $3500, but it's your choice. If you want the best gaming headphones in the world, the HE1000se is it for me.
@@The-Oreo-Man I’ll be using them on PC and Ps5. I have an entry level dac/amp combo Hel 2. Hope it’s enough to drive the Organics. Thanks for all the info. I live in Taiwan so no can jams for me. Might try and find the equivalent out my way.
Cheers for another great review Techne, your work is always greatly appreciated! I have to say though, holy moly those bad boys are some Cyberman cans ahahah
Anytime mate. It really depends on what you are going to use them for and what your budget is. I have a pair of Open backs I use for fps and I have the audeze for the simplicity of being able to use them on all consoles and if I desire more bass
@@GameMalfunction y also had open backs the Fidelio X2HR very comfortable and a excellent sound quality, but i had kids loud and happy kids, so i change to the DT 770 pro of 250 ohms they sound like a open back headphone, but I want to try planar magnetic to find the most comfortable headphone for gaming with good sound Quality that be also useful to enjoy music
I use the sundara currently for gaming. I use a external mic on a non though. I'm running the sundara on a Fiio k7 dacamp with some balanced cables. It's really good but I am looking for an upgrade. Need more bass lol
Techne, I noticed that the dynamic driver headphones do much better job in gaming than the plannar magnetic ones. I have Hifiman Edition XS and I am not happy with this headphone when it comes to gaming, it sounds weird and muffled. On the other hand, my Hifiman HE-R9 and Sivga Luan headphones are so much better in gaming. With the dynamic driver headphones you get much fuller sound, better punch and more juicy sound in games, not sure if you have noticed the same thing.
That's just how the XS sounds. Its not muffled but the imaging is extremely imprecise. Center image is lacking ad well. Ananda nano has the punch you are looking for
Hey techne, I saw your video about the Xbox wireless headphones and I am wondering if I should get those or just a wired pair of headphones just due to the mic. What’s your opinion?
Gaming headphones are the worst headphones. They're cheap and just have a shitty microphone slapped on them. Get good headphones and a good mic if you want good headphones and a good mic

These things are hilariously better than pretty much anything this guy has ever reviewed. It's interesting watching reviews from the perspective of a clueless dude that tries to review audio products. No offense intended there. I'm not exactly an audiophile. But it is clear that there is a lack of knowledge here. That said, I think most people can relate to this more than the audiophile people that are high on their own farts... But it is a little bit misleading. Again, not an audiophile here. But the Ananda Nano are like a Ferrari compared to the "gaming" stuff reviewed on this channel which is in the economy class of cars.
