    As a hunter turned to photography like yourself, I can really appreciate your artistic touches on your videos! Gorgeous sunsets and love all the drone work also-that stuff is gold, especially seeing how the coyotes respond to it!

    Great video Dave! I love the 6 dti. I'm shooting a 55gr nosler bt at 3650. Do you still have your 20-250?

    • @DaveAffleck
      @DaveAffleck  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, I sure do! It looks a bit different than it used to. Chopped it clear down to 19" so it would still be maneuverable with the suppressor. Lost 240 fps, but it still out runs a .204R by quite a bit, is fairly handy and fairly quiet. Pretty neat rig actually.

    Coming from someone, who's 2 passions is photography and coyote hunting.... the sunset pictures at the abandoned structure are incredible!! I live in Stansbury Park, what would it take to get a chance to go out hunting with ya? Either way... GREAT CONTENT!! Dustin White

      Thanks Torry! Photography and coyotes are pretty good areas of interest. I'm pretty booked up for the rest of this winter.

      I think I know exactly where that structure is. In a spot where I had my best single day hunting yet. It's also a couple hours away from anything.

    Not sure why we’re loading rounds in the middle of hunting after shooting one…. Doesn’t make much sense.

    • @DaveAffleck
      @DaveAffleck  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah... I hear ya.
      I don't want to bore people with me just talking too much on my videos, so I leave a lot of explanations out. Likewise, I don't want to bore them with a lot of "non action" footage. I'd actually like to use a lot of that footage, because I think it's the reality of coyote hunting. But I know for a fact most people just get bored with it and leave if when I use much of that stuff in the finished video.
      But I totally get what you are saying and don't mind explaining here.
      The stand was over. So, about 13 minutes after that first one got killed. Shut the caller down, talking about the stand, getting ready to go gather dead coyote and caller etc.
      I have an absolute, fanatical, can't be broken rule, we unload when the stand is over. Why? Shortest version I can give, I know two dead guys from AD's. Both relatives of my best friend, and longest hunting partner. One of them was like family to me too - he even called me "uncle Dave". He's even in one of my early DVD's from way back in the day.
      I"m just a nazi about it. Stand is over, we unload. That's it.
      Benefit to it, I take a practice dry fire at the end of every stand and I really believe that helps more than just a little bit in making almost all my shots count on stand.
      So, stand was over, Steve unloaded to humor me. THEN, we saw that coyote coming, lol! It happens...
      Had one last weekend, same deal, except I was on the rifle and my buddy Tim was on the camera. Bolt rifle this time, heh-heh... Not much drama getting one into the chamber and then dumping that second coyote. Tim got it all on video, so it will be in my next coyote hunting post.
      But, I cut out almost all the stuff about me being unloaded before he spotted that coyote. In the audio you'll be able to hear me fussing and jacking one in - but no real footage or mention of it. I'd like to leave it in. But experience has taught me, people mostly don't want to watch that kind of stuff.
      Probably way more than you wanted to know, lol!

      @DaveAffleck  ปีที่แล้ว

      No doubt! I can't get him to come out near as often as we used to. But I still drag him out there as often as I can!

  • @HellgateSASS3302
    @HellgateSASS3302 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Go back and look at that last one going over the hill. It looked like it hunched (as in being hit) and I heard a plop (bullet impact). If the ground was wet then OK, you missed and the bullet hit wet dirt. I'd bet he's up there right now getting picked over by ravens.

    • @DaveAffleck
      @DaveAffleck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No such luck. The road we were on goes up and around that corner so we were driving that way on our way to the next stand anyway. Stopped to check. No sign of a hit on the ground. I've watched it a bunch of times and see that "hunch" too, but I think that was just him grabbing another gear.

    Nice. Glad you passed on the sky line coyote. I wouldnt shoot cause were not the only people out there. Not fun when you have bullets wizzing passed you

    • @DaveAffleck
      @DaveAffleck  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No! No fun at all to have bullets whizzing past you. There are situations where I feel 100% safe taking the skyline shot. If I know what's behind the skyline and know it's safe. But those are the only times I do.
