The spring under the A string saddle serves as a ground connection. Without that, the guitar would be noisey. Been there, missed that, learned the hard way😂

Oh Mathew If this was just two months ago it would have been perfect timing. That’s when I decided to change string gauge, set it up to my exact preference and in the process tear my Boden Prog NX6 down to learn the ins and outs of it. There’s definitely a different learning curve from a Floyd, etc..
Seriously though, thank you for doing this because there’s some things here that have been insightful for me, plus I didn’t video it and I’m sure I’ll forget things if or when I do it again. You’re the best!!👍

Thanks! Definitely different from a traditional guitar but after going through the process, my fusion is playing incredibly well. Made a few extra tweaks off camera to suit my playing better and it's perfectly dialed in!

Thank you for this video Mathew, I am also thinking of replacing the original block with a brass block

Yay!!! Thank you so much dale! I got a history with headless guitars, I got a vos custom headless, it got a t4m tremolo that is a pain to set up but is stable AF

Thank you for this video; it was very helpful!!! I liked the brass block better, as well. I was considering 24K gold plating both blocks & the springs so it looked more color-coordinated w/ my Trans Red Burst - Strandberg Boden Fusion NX Alex Machacek Signature Edition Electric Guitar. I really love the sound & ergonomics of this instrument as well as its high quality craftsmanship. FREE

Could i ask why the removal of the tremol-no?

I just wasn't using it as much as I expected. They can be a bit noisy at lower volumes, but I don't think that would translate through an amp.

@@mathew_dale Have you considered a Tremmory? No intent in the middle, yet stable enough that things stay in tune during double stop bends and the guitar stays in tune much better in general, do drop D without retuning, etc. Their only issue is they can 'clunk' against the bridge block when coming back from a deep dive, but that can be mostly remedied with a piece of felt.

......not mention checking the string lock and tightening the screws..why?

1:00:50 It's brief. Just make sure to not over tighten...
