More than pleased with what I saw from US.
This issue is our team's arrogance against 10-20 ranking teams. They think games against Wales and Columbia and concacaf away will be EASY. They show up for England n Brazil because they know they have to fight to even have a chance
Brilliant they sat 10 player on the box. If anything they just held defense good enough to win but Jezz 24 shots on goal. Dear USA please improve your offense.
was this game more about the USMNT being a strong team that can make a run in Copa or was it more that this game mattered A LOT to the USMNT and Brazil just treated it like a friendly?
Not going to let Gregg off the hook. His team was more prepared to play in the 2nd game... and that's not going to fly. Your team and you need to be ready to play like this from the 1st match. Don't have the Copa start and be out there looking like it's a scrimmage. Get your team ready to play from the beginning! That's on him, and he absolutely should still be replaced. All this match proved was that this team actually can hang with the best of them, but they need the right guidance and a tactically sound manager.
@@marvinprudencio7321 Sure, but they only won two of those: 1-0 against England and they needed a late minute winner against a below average Mexico team who got spanked by Uruguay. They still look a bit shaky after losing wc qualifier games under the previous coach last year.
While arguably the most talented USMNT side ever, against top competition they are not good enough to bring anything less than full intensity and grit while minimizing mistakes. Team USA can challenge anyone on their day when they bring the intensity.
Disagree with the Pepi assessment. Thought he was invisible. And more of a defensive presence? Recall Balo coming back just outside our box to win a ball/help keep possession for us and build out. Balo more of a threat then Pepi. Brazil wasn’t afraid of Pepi. He’s not a threat.
I’m glad they mentioned it at the end. Brazil is going into this tournament relying on their history, pedigree, and individual talent. They lack unity and I think this result is a reflection of that, instead of US putting on a good performance.
First... Old Man Stevie and Dan Thomas can both suck it 😁 Second, you don't need a clickbait title. We did well. Very well. But we didn't stun Brazil. And before anybody asks... No. I do not trust Berhalter to not embarrass us today any more than I did after Columbia.
I didn't get to watch this game and I'm not going to use highlights as a gage but we're we (USA) brilliant? Or just much improved from the previous game against Colombia?
The fact is, fans will not be happy until GGG gets fired. The USMNT can reach the semis and play at a high level beating Uruguay or Brazil along the way, but it won't be enough.
Same of the same stuff…the only people who think that USMNT is good are USMNT fans. This is not a very good team that gets the odd good result. These two commentators are fans…nauseating!
I appreciate the team coming out and getting a result against Brazil. But the loss to Colombia is still Unacceptable. The team needs to be consistent. I expect this team to be one of the final four teams left in Copa America at the end. No excuses at this point. We know what this team is capable of. At this point its either put up or shut up. IMO Leadership changes are necessary to get the most out of this squad. This team should be farther along then they currently are. We've wasted way too much time.
Matt Turner had to be lights out for us not to get boat raced by the 6th place team in Conmebol WC qualifying. This was better, true, but I'm still dreading Copa.
Me as an ex goal keeper all I got to say US got to find a new goal keeper. It should have been a win for the US. Turner just fucked it up when he gave away that ball. Not the defense fault
1:34 "playing on top of Brazil" (BR - 61% possession, twice the shots than USMNT) what game did they watched? yes they played better than aginst colombia, but still need a long way to say such a phrase. good luck!
Confused on how this is such a bad brazil squad? They have the two best gkers, ballon d or contestant in Vini, four 70-120 million dollar rated midfielders in Paqueta (who admittedly was a ghost that day), Luiz, Guimares, Gomez, starting CF for Madrid Rodrigo, not even including great talents Marquinhos and Raphina, this is a very talented squad. The past Brazil great squads would have two world players and this one only has one in Vini but the transfer value of this team has to be one of the highest in the world
Why are we all gassing up the team for a TIE?! Bro it’s actually over for CONCACAF if we are celebrating as if we just won the Copa America because we managed to get a tie against a good team. Just shows where our standards are.
You clowns can just copy and paste the exact same comment after every game. Who's celebrating? It bodes well going into Copa America hanging with Brazil's A team for 90 minutes, and could have ever won
Brazil didnt play like brazil, its not that big of a deal, we need to stop praising the level we should always be playing at. Low expectations make smaller victories seem bigger
I feel better yes but the problems are still there. We played differently than we normally do. We played very pragmatically. If we play the way we did against Brazil they way we do against Colombia heck we might have drew them as well
Brazil has been struggling lately. They have lost 3 games in a row in WC qualifiers, something that had NEVER happened to them before. They haven't been playing like a team that has made every WC ever, only country that can say that. So the US tying Brazil 1-1 isn't "stunning" them. Colombia giving Brazil it's first back to back loses in the qualifiers, after being down 0-1 and coming back to win 2-1, that was stunning Brazil, especially because Colombia had never won against Brazil during WC qualifiers!!!!

What was more impressive? US draw with Brazil after being pasted by Columbia 5-1 OR Canada draw against France after being shelled by the Netherlands 4-0? Respectfully, I would say Canada’s showing was more impressive. Why? Well, (1) Only Jesse Marsch’s 2nd game in charge of Canada, (2) Canada was on the road vs US playing at home (3) France has a higher FIFA ranking than Brazil. One could argue that the US scored a goal vs Canada not scoring but Canada also had a clean sheet, so I think that’s a push. Question is, will these bounce back friendlies for both teams translate to success at Copa America?
This current Brazil team terrible, they are not the Brazil of old. Sure they have a decent front three , however vini , Rodrygo, (Neymar) ? Are no where near the level of Romario , Ronaldo , Ronaldinho. All guys are robins none are Batman . They won't win a copa and definitely not the World Cup . This game just shows how far Brazil has fallen same with Italy. The USMNT shouldn't celebrate too much getting a draw against a below average Brazil team .
@@TachoSJ So was the game against Colombia where we lost 1-5 after taking Pulisic off at half and making 5 changes with Adams never seeing the field -- that didn't stop the world from throwing a parade and saying our team is trash.
I get being a fan of a team, but if you have to constantly fight and shout about reasons they might only ship 3 goals instead of 5 and should have scored 8 instead of 1, then maybe you just need to accept it’s an average at best team like the USMNT is
My opinion of the team really hasn't changed. Berhalter should be gone before we host the world cup in 2026. I understand they played better, but against elite competition, the defense still looks shaky and Brazil squandered a lot of good opportunities with poor shots and execution. The other thing is that when you play top-20 teams you have to bury good chances. Pulisic in the 68th minute should have buried that beautiful pass to the middle of the box. You have to convert those against good teams. That was as good a look as you can get. It's better than losing 5-1 mind you, but I still need to see them do it in Copa and actually make a run in Copa for me to feel any differently.
The whole world knew that USMT is way better than Columbia but USMT did not take average Columbia serious and Columbia creep into them and before they knew it 5 goals to one. I bet u, that number will switch quickly if USMT play Columbia now, cause USMT underrated an average club like Columbia but we are glad USMT had finally made a statement that they are in the same ball sense position with Brazil and Argentina. USMT makes Brazil look like an average team honestly.
lol Colombia is a top 5 team in the world and they'll prove it in the tournament. The USA will play them again in the quarter finals and most likely lose...AGAIN.
Celebrating a draw is next level of delusion. Until this team wins games against big teams regularly they’re not going to be a serious contender for anything important
I don’t know what game you have watched don’t get me wrong we played very good last night but to the point saying dominated Brazil you’re being dishonest we conceded 25 shots 🤦🏾🤦🏾
I think Antonee Robinson needs to slow/calm down, especially going forward. Too often he looks a bit out of control going forward and his crosses often seem rushed and ineffective. I want him to succeed because he seems really likable, but at present I see him as a liability moving forward, and not good enough defensively to justify a starting spot. Antonee --> you have the physical tools ... just relax a half beat, especially moving forward.

That foul or should i say dive that lead to pulisic freekick couldn't be reviewed because it was outside the box but somehow a similar foul that favored Brazil outside the box was reviewed AFTER being called and overturned which refs are not allowed to do but it was obvious the ref didn't want usmnt to lose... not to mention how they parked the bus after that 1-1.*
It’s a friendly
Dos a cero puto btw you're the guy I was always hear about 🤣. Admit the us is better my friend and that fact we did better against Brazil compared to Mexico🤣🤣
10:00 Then why didn't Pulisic get a brace?😂
A tie is stunning???? The standards have dropped so much.
In 20 games vs Brazil we now have 1 draw and 1 win… what are you yapping about?
For Greggg, yes it's amazing.. we expect a 7-0 loss so a draw is amazing for Greggggg.
Our standards have never been to beat the greatest soccer nation of all time. What are you yapping about?
@@Garrett10We couldn’t beat a Brazil that was 6th in qualifying and sacked their last two managers. Masterclass of a performance. Now excuse us fans for wanting more than just beating Mexico.
@@michealdeangelo7452 even wanting to win a friendly that bad is just naive. Let’s try to win a real game
US only defended. They waited for Brazil mistake to attack.. That the only way small teams can play against Bigger team, put 9 on defense.
True to a extent. Pepi started to help on defense.
Stop making excuses
US played from the back, but unlike with Colombia, at a faster pace --presumably with more humility than casually passing from the back, assuming the opposition is incapable of disposessing them from the ball...
It Was a great and uniquely promising performance, in the sense that it's probably the most comfortable US has looked v. Brasil (composed, effective), as the Brits would say (can't believe I'm using this term lol) cheeky, and at times, looking like South American team with intuitive short passes in tight windows.... More than pleased with what I saw from US.
This issue is our team's arrogance against 10-20 ranking teams. They think games against Wales and Columbia and concacaf away will be EASY. They show up for England n Brazil because they know they have to fight to even have a chance
Colombia is amongst the most competitive.. if the USMNT didnt know this then their problem is ignorance
Brilliant they sat 10 player on the box. If anything they just held defense good enough to win but Jezz 24 shots on goal. Dear USA please improve your offense.
Don’t know ball
Vamo Peñarol!! Que grande Salazar crack! 💛🖤
Ooohhhweeee, Zach Stevenson is one of the best goal keepers ever kept in the game.
Usmnt still didn’t look good but Brazil looked quite poor and disinterested in the match
that's been how Brazil looked like since the WC
Should we have played a different team? Dance with the girl you brought.
So disinterested that they were screaming to the ref in a friendly
was this game more about the USMNT being a strong team that can make a run in Copa or was it more that this game mattered A LOT to the USMNT and Brazil just treated it like a friendly?
That’s not an excuse for Brazil
And for the USA it wasn’t about Brazil at all
Not going to let Gregg off the hook.
Reyna and Pulisic are a MUST up front for sure but overall they looked good. There are possibilities.
The US team played Brazilian holidaymakers
Brazil hasn't been good in a while now, drawing against Brazil these days is not a big deal.
They haven’t lost a game with the new manager they have. Just say you don’t like the United States.
@@marvinprudencio7321 Sure, but they only won two of those: 1-0 against England and they needed a late minute winner against a below average Mexico team who got spanked by Uruguay. They still look a bit shaky after losing wc qualifier games under the previous coach last year.
He is in 6th place 🇧🇷 in the qualifiers (he is out of the world championship right now)
It is true that the new coach won 2/3 games they played in Brazil (the last one against Mexico a few days ago)
@@ramiking745they played the B team against Mex, neither Vini nor Rodriygo started
Give US team a trophy for drawing against Brazil. Give Pulisic the ballond'Or for scoring against Brazil.
Brazil took pity on US 😂😂😂
That’s not an excuse 😊
It’s an improvement against out of form Brazil. Let’s see how they will fare against Uruguay.
While arguably the most talented USMNT side ever, against top competition they are not good enough to bring anything less than full intensity and grit while minimizing mistakes. Team USA can challenge anyone on their day when they bring the intensity.
Vamooo arriba Peñarol
Way to go. Brazil annihilated the massively overrated England side recently.
USA proud of drawing the worse Brazil team in 20 years is exactly why the team is bad.
Should've been a W
For who? 😂
The US? Playing with 12 men?
@@haircutsofexcelence9830no excuses for Brazil
Disagree with the Pepi assessment. Thought he was invisible. And more of a defensive presence? Recall Balo coming back just outside our box to win a ball/help keep possession for us and build out. Balo more of a threat then Pepi. Brazil wasn’t afraid of Pepi. He’s not a threat.
Argentina and Uruguay are favorites for me. With colombia and Brazil 3 and 4.
I’m glad they mentioned it at the end. Brazil is going into this tournament relying on their history, pedigree, and individual talent. They lack unity and I think this result is a reflection of that, instead of US putting on a good performance.
This was a friendly match, I'm not really sure that Brazil really cared too much about this game. 😂

First... Old Man Stevie and Dan Thomas can both suck it 😁
Second, you don't need a clickbait title. We did well. Very well. But we didn't stun Brazil. And before anybody asks...
No. I do not trust Berhalter to not embarrass us today any more than I did after Columbia.
Standouts - Tim Ream, Joe Scally, Matt Turner!
Not there at the moment - Yunus Musah, Antony Robinson
That Peñarol shirt 🔥
I didn't get to watch this game and I'm not going to use highlights as a gage but we're we (USA) brilliant? Or just much improved from the previous game against Colombia?
The fact is, fans will not be happy until GGG gets fired. The USMNT can reach the semis and play at a high level beating Uruguay or Brazil along the way, but it won't be enough.
Same of the same stuff…the only people who think that USMNT is good are USMNT fans. This is not a very good team that gets the odd good result. These two commentators are fans…nauseating!
Brazil look like the 4th best team in South America. Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia are better
Christian pullistic goal got the whole world talking and reacting in the internet today
Me as an ex goal keeper all I got to say US got to find a new goal keeper. It should have been a win for the US. Turner just fucked it up when he gave away that ball. Not the defense fault
he gave one ball away tf are you talking about out of 11 shots he played well
Brazil didnt impress me at all. The US should have won this game to be fair. Alisson and Turner both had quality games.
1:34 "playing on top of Brazil" (BR - 61% possession, twice the shots than USMNT) what game did they watched? yes they played better than aginst colombia, but still need a long way to say such a phrase. good luck!
Do have to ruin the moment
Christian Pulisic is a top class player, he can be a starter in any top team in Europe.
He is a starter in a top team in Europe.
I know Ac Milán.
Yeah, ac milan.
Most top teams not all top teams
Confused on how this is such a bad brazil squad? They have the two best gkers, ballon d or contestant in Vini, four 70-120 million dollar rated midfielders in Paqueta (who admittedly was a ghost that day), Luiz, Guimares, Gomez, starting CF for Madrid Rodrigo, not even including great talents Marquinhos and Raphina, this is a very talented squad. The past Brazil great squads would have two world players and this one only has one in Vini but the transfer value of this team has to be one of the highest in the world
As a collective, they're just not there yet. At least, that's my observation.
It bodes well going into Copa America hanging with Brazil's A team for 90 minutes, and could have ever won
lol, it was just a friendly match, never take conclusions based on these kind of games
Then why is everyone so critical when the result against Columbia? We have to be proud of the result regardless if it was a friendly.
@14:30 add naivete.
Brazil isn't that good still a team in transition don't let this friendly get to your head
Should we let the Columbia friendly get to our head?
@Rezzzzz1234 in time you will know what to take seriously lol
@@RodriqueMcbean I’ve coached and played at a high level for years. I’m pretty confident I know what to take seriously and I’m also pretty confident the general fanbase doesn’t.
@Rezzzzz1234 so in that case you should know that a friendly is just what it states friendly match, where coaches can try out formations ,players on the brink ,current players in a system to see how far they are progressing, etc so what you are saying coach is just a bunch of nothing really ,being so knowledgeable you shouldn't have answered what I said unless I hit a nerve and it hurt
@@RodriqueMcbean I’m aware that international friendlies are glorified practices. We shouldnt overreact to Brazil or Columbia matches. I’m excited for the copa hopefully we can give South American teams a good game.
Not sure how McKennie gets a 6 when 5 would indicate he had an average game. Sadly, he was not up to his capability in both games.
Come on guys your not winning Copa and your best player is your goalie.
Joe Scally is Vinicius Jr’s Dad now.
lol, it’s a just a friendly
@@TachoSJ That’s true. But in Copa Vini would have gotten hacked down early in the match and been complaining the whole time.
-BRAZIL: How lazy it makes me play these games against Third World Football Teams
-NARRATOR: It's the United States team
Yeah Brazil likes under performing for their country Im sure
*Real ones that watched the game know it was USLGBTQ + refs and VAR vs Brazil* 😂🤷♂️
C'mon now, u guys are celebrating a draw vs Brazil a bit to much...have some self respect.
USA aint that bad.
