I married my Egyptian husband a little over a year ago and we are still waiting for him to come to America. I have been to Egypt 3 times now and it always feels like home to me. The people are SO AMAZING and accepting. Watching you try the foods...I remember the first time I had all of those. It made my heart happy. I really miss my second home.

What a way to tour Cairo, Egypt! You found a terrific guide who took you to all the right places and he even invited you to his country home. The food looked fabulous. All the food looked delicious, but I would have stuffed myself with the Egyptian pita bread! You might say how does he know what Egyptian pita bread taste like. Well, I ate a ton of fresh Egyptian pita bread with fried langoustinos on the bank of the Nile River when I was in Alexandria, Egypt, which was years ago.

Wow it sounds like you've traveled quite a bit! We love the fresh pita here. We are surprised by how quickly it gets hard though. Must be all natural or something haha

Yes, I am a retired U.S. Merchant Marine Officer. One can say that I have traveled the globe and on my vacations I went to places that a ship does not go. I got paid for traveling . It doesn’t get better than that!

Hahaha, if okra were a soup! Yup! I agree. It's yummy with rice.

This was awesome! The food looks really good. One day I’ll make it there. For me is a little strange to eat with my hands, I don’t like the sticky, slimy feeling of foods, that would be my first cultural shock.

you are welcome at any time to Egypt and trust me Egyptian food is worth it to eat by your hands as you cannot really enjoy the delecious taste of some egyptian food without using your hands

You don't eat mulukhiya like this, you either put it on rice then eat it, or the more traditional way is widn el-otta * cat's ears* which is cutting small bread pieces like a cats' ears then put it in the plane and eat it, that's probably why you didn't get the whole experience of it xD
But I'm happy for you, you seem to have a good time

Have fun in Egypt. I never made it there living in Europe. I think it was a bit sketch politically at the time. I think you're making a great tourism video for Egypt that will help resuscitate the tourist there after the revolution.

Tamaya and Falafel are the same things, It`s Taamya in Cairo, and in Alexandria, they call it Falafel, It`s one of the foods that Egyptian Orthodox Christians eat while in their fasting time, as they aren`t allowed to eat any animal.

I usually love your videos but this one was annoying. It's like every single food you tried you compare to something else. Why not just enjoy it as is, and stop trying to compare and contrast? Some light comparisons here and there are normal and okay, but it's like every single food item "is like X". No it's not! It's unique to the region! Why not enjoy the uniqueness and work on learning how to actually describe it? Not only is constantly comparing unhelpful, it oversimplifies the idea of what the foods taste like as if the culture is "unoriginal" or "not special". It's something I noticed with western travelers...You don't eat a burger and say "wow this tastes like....." You instead say "it's so juicy, well-seasoned, has the right amount of spice, this is high quality beef" etc. So why do it to other cultures? Your culture isn't the only "unique" one 🙄.

plz donot come again and tell the story to everyone ..i was normally walking to ride my uber at talaat harb square cairo and suddenly an aggressive with bad attitude guy wearing as a normal citizen asked me for my ID,, i asked him why should i do that ! he told me he is a police ,, then i asked him to show me his badge or id 1st to prove that he is a police politely and then i will show him my id .he instantly shouted at me and started screaming and accused me to be crazy just for asking this question !!! .. the moment i tried to film what happened to me they forced and aggressively took my mobile and started seeing my personal stuff including facebook, whatsapp ..etc..after 3 hours of humiliation and crying by tears ,they let me go after they didn't find any wrong thing.. i felt scared and under real threat in my own country .. they tried to drag me to the police car with no reason and no one showed me his badge or ID .. plz stay safe and thank and pray to god that you are from a country that defends their citizens unlike egypt who insults their own citizen !!.. if it is a must then donot move without your passport not just the id and threaten them that you will go to the embassy ,,and police may abuse you to take your money also....stay safe
