😂😂😂
LOVE THE CRISPY CLEAN AUDIO!!!! P.S let's bring star wipes back.
Thank god , some of those mistakes I haven't done yet.😌
PowerPoint Transitions>Star wipes 😂#nextLevel
Okay but Chris, what if we didn't?
Do you think that mic is actually plugged in or is it just a prop?
I’m down! Haha.
Over-editing is so easy to do especially if your camera is not that good.. Damn true!
Blaming the camera for your photography mistakes 🙄
Seen some amazing photos from the 1940s. Wonder what camera they had?
Michael Reyes that’s incorrect
Tone Deaf actual film which is better than digital 😂😂
So can we get a gofundme for Peter to get a 'Volcano erupting with a seaplane going through just splashing the lava all over'?
Please
Just don't over saturate it other wise no one will even notice
I would donate 🙌🏼
As long as John Cusack is on board.
@@ryubaku no he need purposly mak it bad
Some people get ''OMG'' nuts over these strange over-edited, photoshopped pics on social media.
And then i see a pretty pic without any edits, just the way it is, realisticly beautiful. And nobody cares.
That's when i believe that society is just nuts.
A horse is pretty by itself. It doesn't have to be a unicorn.
very surprised for Peter to knock color splashing because he's always super positive about expression. If you want to splash colors with black and white, go do it. If it speaks to you, do it. It may be cliche (dont think it is) but you need to find that out for yourself. If you think its dope in the moment, do it. You may think its silly 10 years from now, but it is imperative to your growth that YOU decide how to express yourself and not to let other people do it for you. All the other advice is sound imo.
Aphromew You keep it 💯
I think it depends. I am not a fan of it 90% of the time but I used it on a woman in the grave yard to juxtapose life with death and I think it kinda works. But I had a reason, not just to be cute.
Was actually searching for another opinion on that point because I thought more or less the same. Thanks for your advice tho!
Aphromew kinda depends on the photo. Sometimes it just doesn’t work and is obviously cliche, other times it is almost unique.
@@bruhdabones examples?
See I enjoy selective color even though it is cliche. I just feel as though it depends on the image if it's a good idea or not.
schindlers list uses selective color to highlight a character. i think its great when you need to tell a story and if you pick a single color
I was actually watching your videos last night, and it inspired me to go out and shoot some photos after class lol. Best part is that as soon as I got home this was the first video that popped up, love your work man ... you're such an inspiration!!!
me 6 hours ago: "damn im gonna desaturate everything else except the person im taking picture of"
me now: "damnn thats so lame and cliche"
Please do a video on the top 10 cliches ( in your opinion obviously)....
Nr. One: Sleeping homeless guy.
Nr. Two: Train tracks.
Nr. Four: lens cap
@@syafikmohamad7422 you mean lense hood?
Joseph Manna no. five: everything is black and white other than the subject. edit: just watched the video, i’ll just see myself out
Be honest.... how many times did you have to hop up and down in the middle of the road to get that thumbnail?
"People love to brighten up eyeballs, to the point where you look demonic. You look like you're going to shoot beams from your eyes, doesn't look good." I really like this tip but I couldn't help laugh.
lol same 😂
After 14 months of this hobby. Still struggling with finding my editing style. I feel like I don't know how to use enough of the tools in Lightroom.
I'm on that boat right now!
The over edit was one of my biggest problems when I first started doing photography, took me a long time to learn that simple is better. Great tips, always love watching your videos. Inspired me to do videos along with photography. Keep up the great work Peter.
I've been binge watching your videos all day and it makes me want to delete all my photos and start again. I love your stuff and your personality is amazing.
And again, extreme value has been provided! You inspire me and my channel every single day. Keep it up Pete 😀
I personally dont completely agree with the "avoid cliches as much as possible" one.. I find taking the idea of a cliche and maybe altering it or building on it can turn out really good depending on the shot, and you can ask a client "are you sure that's what you want? That ideas a little dated" or whatever but ultimately if they're going to love the photo and get exactly what they ask for, I think that's part of customer satisfaction... maybe present them with the edit they wanted and then a version you think is better at the end and maybe they'll choose the one they never knew they wanted, but often they're paying you to help bring their creative ideas to life- at least at the beginning of your photography career. Just my 2 cents.
My feelings were ruffled too! For a client in any industry it's about meeting their needs. I think its important to try different things. Trends come in and out of vogue. Houses in Australia had timber veneer on walls in the 70s. Internal brick in the 80s. Floral tiles in the 90s with skirting boards. Purple feature walls in the 2000s. Now its back to white, grey and blacks with floating timber floors.
But now they have these horrid metallic kettles and toasters in shops that look all bright red, blue green, yellow etc so we've gone back to the 70s again. Blehh!

I absolutely agree!
Why did i just read "cliches" as cli-che-s
Thanks Peter. Spent a little time this weekend working on my light-room editing skills. Thanks for keeping us on track and avoiding some of those pitfalls.
You sir, are my favorite tutor! You have the best edits which are very easy to follow along with. I would also like to add that when I'm editing a scene, I tend to look deep into the picture and see it with my peripheral, and feel the colors, brightness, contrast etc.. I also tend to use the same method in painting and sculpting. I try to let my subconscious do as much as possible and it seems to always guide me the right way. Welp, just throwing that idea out there.. hope everyone has a good one!
Couldn’t ask for a better Wednesday !! Thanks Peter for sharing your experience with us and making sure we do not lose time chasing wrong things !
Keep it up 👌🏼
Jonathan & Jerusha if you like this, you’ll probably like my latest video too.
Excellent advice Peter, thank you as always!

I just gotta say thank you, i watched your last beginners video and now this one. I have had a general interest in photography all my life and now I am starting to really get into it. And I have loved it thus far. And these videos have helped me so much. Thanks again!
Yaaaass! Organising your files is literally the most important thing!! Since I've started taking on more professional projects I've realised that having an efficient workflow is ESSENTIAL and just makes sense - highly recommend everyone gets on it from day 1!
Wow your last few videos have shown just how much you've improved in the past year. There's so much attention to the details and it just makes the whole video feel so cohesive and just all around enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work!
With all that lighting and stuff, even having watched you placing that wooden wall in place, it feels like a green screen.. that's new for this channel!
I have to say I really like your personality, very up-beat and positive. We need more of this!
Always helping the creators. thank you Peter!
Seriously love your stuff, you just have an amazing way of getting it across to people. You also just want to help which is incredible. Thank you
Dude add plants beside the mic in Ur frame! It makes everything look more earthy! Love Ur style btw!!!!!

Love your videos !! You’re truly yourself and it shows on camera. I’m starting a new project and I’m really glad that your videos exist because they are helping a lot. I’m a beginner but I feel like you are they to help me ... so a big thank you for sharing your knowledge 😍🤓
Ouch!!!! I love the b/w with a pop of color. 😖
Okay, my work is going to wait. PETER uploaded!!! *grabs coffee, ignores everyone around and just chills with Peeet*☕☕☕
You're amazing, just keep this up! You're motivating me to continue to take my camera on every trip. I'm not a pro, just a hobbyist shooting micro 4/3 but your videos are so great to learn from.
I'm so happy this is in 4k, and the audio also sounds amazing
This audio sound podcastly pleasing
McKinnon Podcast? I say why the hell not. 🤩
René Montiel haha, you mind checking out my last vlog mate?
Just did. I'm a Packer fan, but you'r Detroit vlog was cool. R.I.P. Aretha ❣️🙏
Keep up the good work! (Greetings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷)
Man loving the new sound, that mic is so good! Loving the 'beginner' tutorials ... all points that I have done too many times to count, but that said I do love going back through my old photos and sometimes I shudder. haha
Peter, you are an absolute talent. It's great to hear your stories of how you have been through the phase of young punk not knowing what to do with your life to finally finding passion and running like the wind with it. Love you more than NBC or ABC or any of the national brands. Any day.
Love the way you edit ,the details....🤩
Thanks for the video peter 🙏 it is so helpful 😄
"create something NOW" - watching this whilst editing photos. Think I nailed it. Love the video!
Peter....You are so truly inspirational. Thank you for all of these videos!
I like the podcast style. You should start a radio program dude.
This is SO TRUE especially with color grading videos these days. I see sooo many people trying to go for the “orange and teal” look yet it’s wayyy over edited and looks worse. To be honest I don’t know how to do the orange and teal look but I’d rather not make my footage look worse with trying to be fancy 🤷🏻♂️
you get the orange and teal look by using the camera calibration sliders...blue to the left and red to the right, play with the saturations to make the skin tones and other things within the photo look right
Thank you Peter for the recent videos specially for photography! Great stuff, keep it coming!
Thanks for all of the tips Peter! Played with some point and clicks a while back, just recently (2 weeks or so) decided to take photography serious and your videos are the best. Very helpful information and not in a I know everything do as I say tone. Appreciate it

I've took up photography just recently and watching your videos and your pointers have really helped me out. Yeah I still make my mistakes but I learn from them. Hopefully with practice, I get better at it and soon I'll be taking some awesome looking photos. Thank you again.
The “human, not alien” segment... thank you for bringing this up, I can’t stand when I see super smooth skin
Facts its the shitty girls.. lol
And another thing.. using the crop tool will help you improve photography composition in general
Every time I watch one of your videos I feel even more inspired to go do something new. I love the content!
You're photography videos are always on point!! Keep it up dude!!
Cool Beans...Get it 😉 Lol. 🤗🤗 Awwww Little Peter 😊😊 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Video

Awesome tips Pete! Great videos like always, you continue to provide for the community!
Can you make more cinematic vlogs?
Love those
I'd like to see a behind the scene/explanation video of what it takes to make a video. What's your thought process?
Love the smooth way to introduce the podcast! anxious to listen to the PM audio experience...
Pete! Great stuff as always!. And. ..digging the new background and set.

Thought you weren't going to release a video today. You had me!
On Ouchs if you like this you’ll probably like my videos too
He did miss 2 minute Tuesday though
I JUST posted a picture and now I feel guilty about over editing 😪🙃
Peter I love what you said about cliches. I totally agree. Please make more videos about other cliches to avoid!
Great tips there Peter. Especially love the “export master” tip. Sounds so obvious once you hear it but I’d never done that before
Hi Peter, I live in Japan. Man, I’m curious about this coffee. Can you tell me the brand??? I would like to taste it! Thanks man!!!!

AVOID EDITING CLICHES
*sells preset pack with “That Teal and Orange Tho”*
😜😜 Just giving you a hard time Peter, I enjoy that preset hahaha
Damn, I just arrived at Teal and Orange though =) Cheers.
teal and orange is as much a cliche as 2+2=4.
Was thinking the same thing LOL couldn’t believe what he was saying.
Whilst editing I ask myself “is this photo timeless” that seems to work.
Thanks, Peter! Great advice, as usual.
Thank you so much for sharing those valuable tips and your positive vibe!
oh my god 7 year old pete is killing me awwwwwwww
My biggest mistake is not using layers when editing my photos. I’m a night photographer too, which makes it so much worse.
Casey Kidd I did everything destructively for a long, long time. It's not the end of the world if you know what you want. I definitely don't miss those days, but I didn't really suffer for it. I mostly just learned to get stuff right the first time, and nothing taught me better how to not over-edit.
The best photography channel EVER. Skyrocket value. Keep it up
Guilty! I love clarity. Thank you so much for all the knowledge you share with me. :)
i can't wait for chris ramsay to reply and be like PETER YOU MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A GOAT
I can't believe everyone was going to let the Ramsay edit slide without comment. Glad I was mistaken. ;)
2:13 killlllled me 😂😂😂
Thank you for the tips, ones that I remind myself of every moment I grap my camera, but forget about too often, especally the overedting. Thank you.
The crispy audio is perfect!!!!!!

Haha I do all of these haha! Ooopss
I really do appreciate all your uploaded videos man, it helps me a lot! I am just a noob and trying to understand the basics on photography and videography using my mobile phone. Thank you very much for giving tips and sharing your knowledge for free! 👍😉
Thank you peter ! I appreciate you putting in the work for all of us beginners 🙏❤️
