I’m using Mizon’s snail mucin line and it has literally cleared up my cystic acne, scars, and discoloration. It’s freaking amazing “If the only thing holding you back from trying snail-slime beauty products (besides the ick factor) is concern for snail welfare, don’t worry. I spoke to a representative from AmorePacific (the parent company to snail skin-care-producing brands like Etude House), who told me that harvesting the slime involves having the nocturnal snails crawl around a mesh net in a darkened room for 30 minutes at a time, then transferred back to their natural habitat to rest (every brand representative I spoke to for this story stressed that none of the snails are harmed in the procedure). Cosrx uses a similar process, as does Mizon, which - their rep tells me - heats their mesh nets to increase humidity for a terrarium effect (it ramps up mucin secretion). The snails are never harmed, and their moisturizing slime is then collected and pasteurized for the bottle.” - New York Magazine, 2018
@@kfkkfk7995 I understand this, but from a company standpoint. If they can collect mucin without harming the snails. They can get more and more "use" out of the snails and then don't need to buy/breed more quite as rapidly to meet demand.
I also use Mizon and it’s cleared up so many problems. As far as how the mucin is gathered, the snails crawl over nets and release the mucin as they normally do. The only thing that’s really done “to” the snails is that the humidity is slightly increased to promote the mucin.
Just a quick heads up: while using essential oils can be very damaging for your skin, there are some exceptions in good formulations. As well as Tea Tree essential oil, which is a great alternative for folks with acne that struggle with other, stronger antibiotics, mint extract, menthol, and pretty much everything related to mint has been scientifically proven to regulate sebum production (the "cooling effect" is not just a bonus, by regulating the general temperature of the skin, you're actually making it less likely to overproduce sebum) and alleviate inflammation, though some people might be sensitive to it, just as it happens with lanolin and a lot of other things. Most of the Effaclar range of La Roche Posay, which is super popular and VERY effective for a lot of oily and acne-prone skin types, have menthol on most of their products, and they are still secure for sensitive skin. Also, mineral water is a HUGE thing, though I'm not sure if they're able to keep it stable enough in those packagings and formulations to consider their benefits. However, different mineral water springs often contain different assortments of minerals and a shit ton of good stuff for your skin. The three most famous ones, think, are Avene, Vichy, and Evian, and at least for the first two ones, there has been extensive research on their topical use and very good results have been found. Besides having a different cocktail of minerals that seem to strengthen the skin barrier, stimulate good bacteria growth and control sensitivity, they also have different PHs than regular tap water - which is normally not even close to the PH level of healthy skin, which is why we love toners so much-, which means they don't disrupt other treatments nearly as much and are far more gentle. The benefits listed on research, though, are mostly by the use of water fresh from spring, on location, or by using the securely packaged in air-tight containers, to keep it stable and prevent contamination, so there's that.
@@RutujaDicholkar theyre cruelty free except for China. Please review Purito, Isntree, and Iunik! They’re Korean brands and very similar to Cosrx but with more beneficial ingredients. Cosrx can be just a little overly simplistic for me and I prefer my products to not be single note formulas (the Ordinary cough cough). YesStyle should have them all. Iunik has fantastic serums especially their Black Snail serum, Purito has some good centella products and low PH cleanser options, and Isntree you really can’t go wrong with anything.... great AHA for dry skin, nice soothing BHA toner, lovely serums (I like the C-Niacin ampoule), many like their HA toner, and their Green Tea line is great for oily skin.
The corx AHA is literally the only aha that works for me that takes away bumps and milia on my face. Ive tried so many different ones that either burns or doesn’t make a difference.
Hey i just wanted to leave my take on one of these products! I got the toner he talked about in the beginning and I absolutely love it. It’s gentle enough that I can use it morning and night on my sensitive skin! It doesn’t give super drastic immediate results but with repeated use I’ve noticed a lot fewer clogged pores and my skin is significantly smoother
So great to read this comment from a person with sensitive skin like myself! Can I ask you if you also use another chemical exfoliator once a week with this or only this product is enough for a good exfoliation? Thank you!
@@pr209 I also use another exfoliater! I use the AHA BHA solution from the ordinary every couple of weeks and I like to use their azelaic acid one every few nights. I would say the toner is very gentle and great to use every day, but I generally need more exfoliation when I break out
@@pr209 if you have sensitive skin that’s acne prone like mine I highly highly suggest this toner for every day use and the azelaic acid from the ordinary to use every few days. The AHA BHA solution is generally too intense for me to use every week but I can use it when my skin really needs it
@@fathibotan2367 the toning mist is not hydrating so I would recommend a good moisturizer like the cerave hydrating cream! But the toner is gentle enough for daily mild exfoliation

I've been using the snail mucin essence for a couple of months, and I love it! My skin retains moisture better, and I feel like my skin is more even toned. Could you please try & review stuff from Neogen?!
@Sak Gt basically I do an oil cleanser, a water cleanser, exfoliate, then use the essence, my moisturizer, and occasionally a sheet mask and/or eye cream.
Have never tried the Paula's Choice one but for me the cosrx one does nothing. Nada. Zilch. Literally makes me confused because benton bha does more for my skin eventhough benton's bha percentage is way lower
Snail mucin was always a question that I have, which I kept asking myself should I use it or not. Now I got the answer. Thanks Hyram love and hugs from Malaysia
I bought snail cream that was delivered yesterday and after two applications I’m already seeing improvements. That’s in addition to my curology products!
Thank you so much for maki this video! Love watching you reviewing the KBreauty stuff! As an Asian girl I think I have a clue about your comments on the not so powerful exfoliating effect of Korean skincare products. Asian’s skin types are more commonly to be dry or dry combination and intended to be less stable (change rapidly when environment changes), for me, I am oily combination in the summertime but my skins turns to dry - dry combination in the winter. A slight gentler exfoliate can be very beneficial for Asian skins :)
Hi there, Hyram! I’m a relatively new fan and have been watching your videos now for about 3 weeks I think. Before I get to my question, I just wanted to tell you that just by watching your videos and following your advice and purchasing just a few products recommended by you (lots of them are sold out!), you have literally changed my life. I won’t go into to much detail, but last May (2019), I was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease psoriatic arthritis, which is a debilitating, painful, incurable disease that wreaks havoc on your joints and surrounding tendons and ligaments. It’s one of the rare inflammatory arthritis diseases that affects young people (typically beginning in their 30’s or 40’s ( I am 38)). Psoriatic arthritis affects about 30% of people with psoriasis. Most people get psoriasis before psoriatic arthritis but a small percentage of people get the arthritis first. Before my diagnosis, I just assumed I had problematic skin issues and would have to live with unexplainable inflammation which manifests itself in very weird and different forms over my entire body. However, now, understanding that the source of my skin problems comes from an obscene amount of inflammation throughout my entire body (on the inside and out), I have been able to concentrate my research to find anti-inflammatory products that really work. Along the way, I found your channel and instantly appreciated your honesty, transparency, straight-forward, no “BS” approach to skincare and am extremely grateful for your help. Seriously, you are changing peoples’ lives in a HUGE way. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Now, on to the COSRX Snail Mucin Essence product - I have a question. Have you noticed in your purchasing that there appears to be 2 different versions of the product packaging (which applies to both the wording on the bottle and the box)? I’m a trademark attorney, and have worked on a lot of counterfeit cases, so when I purchase products, especially skincare products, I pay close attention to little things like any differences in wording or product packaging designs. I ordered this product on Amazon (don’t worry - this has nothing to do with whether or not your link brought me to purchase this on Amazon - I buy most of my products on Amazon and I can’t remember whether I used your link or not), and, when I opened the package, I first noticed that the box was open, then I noticed that the product wasn’t sealed, and then, I went back to Amazon to read some reviews, which pointed out what I eventually noticed as well: One variation of the product has the wording “Being 96% Snail Secretion Filtrate (Mucin), this essence helps the skin to lose less moist while keeping the skin smooth and health” and another version of the product states “This Advanced Snail Gel Lotion is protects skin from moisture loss and keeps skin smooth and healthy without the use of heavy oils.” Everything else looks the same. So especially considering the fact that the product wasn’t sealed, I am wondering if one of these is counterfeit. So, I haven’t used the product yet, but I was wondering if you had any thoughts on this. Does your product come sealed? What is the wording on your product that you have tried (and love)? By the way, this has nothing to do with the grammar issues with either of these descriptions. I am used to seeing that when I am purchasing skincare products overseas. I’m just hesitant to use this without getting your 2 cents on this. I’m happy to take this conversation private if you’d like. I just wasn’t sure if it was appropriate for me to email you about this and clog up what I assume is a VERY clogged email account. I’d really, really appreciate your take. Again, thank you SO much for everything you do 🙏🙏💚💚
Okay this has nothing to do with the products lol but you are the king of putting things in the description box and I wish more youtubers would do that. Like seriously after watching other people I always have so many questions about products and where to find them and people never link them it’s kind of annoying. But, you have never failed me lol so thank u!

I love the Snail Mucin Power Essence so much. One of my ride or die products. As I’m allergic to willow bark and therefore Salicylatic acid I can’t try the others. Thinking about giving The Ordinary Lactic acid a try
I'm super glad that you are venturing into Korean skin cares now! American/Europe skin cares are a bit hard for me to reach since they're much more expensive for me so I always opt for Korean skin cares (since I'm living in Asia). Great review, now I'm excited to try the Snail Mucin one! :)
There's a video on TH-cam of a guy in Italy who farms snail mucin without hurting the snails.. he puts a bunch of them on a mesh screen inside this huge bubble .. he also explains that snails will release more slime when they are happy and they like warm watery steam like a getting a facial 😂... So the snails get a spa day once every so many weeks
I heard some sketchy stuff about how snail mucin is collected and it kinda made me uncomfortable so I might not buy it anymore. If they let the snails just chill then cool but the other ways of extracting it seemed very wrong.
This is not the regular smile snails produce, they produce this slime as a way to protect their bodies from harm. In order for farmers to extract the slime, they “agitate” and stress out the snails using salt, which is known to harm them, or they starve the snails to trigger them to release more mucus. Many farmers and companies want consumers to believe that no sails were harmed when collecting the slime, but I wouldn't believe them.
If you aren't already using one try switching to a DE Safety razor. I switched for my legs and it has been a life saver. Razor burn is basically nonexistent (only when I screw up; like not replacing the blade). Plus it's cheaper and better for the environment.
okay just to give some feedback about this COSRX brand. I have bought their good morning gel cleanser and aha bha clarifying toner. When I used the cleanser no acne popped out and my acne started to decrease but my face is getting dry very very dry. For the toner, my face feels burnt when I applied them. So it is a no from me.. btw my skin type is oily at the T area and dry at the cheeks simetimes so it is a combination skin. ( my face is kinda weird, it can be sensitive sometimes hahaha ) Now, i just dont use anything and my face slowly gets better and better. Just wash it daily with the water :>
Hi Hyram! I've gotten 3 bottles of the toner and have no problems with the sprayer, possibly it's the shop's fault. I feel like it's fine for skin with not much problems. I stopped using their serum and replaced with The Ordinary's and I saw immediate effect (3-4 days) All in all, 3/5 for Cosrx for good price and easy use. It was quite hard to choose which ones to use from too.
SimplyAWitch9 the tonymoly green tea chok chok watery cream is amazing. I'm hooked. AND i have an oily/combination sensitive skin. I'm so hooked with this.

I have the AHA/BHA I put it on cotton pads and go around my face, gently , or I spray it on and with clean hands glide it around my face and pat it in my skin. Then after I hit it with the Vitamin 75 , then Klairs Soft UV sunscreen . My skin gets super glowy and soft. I don't know if it is strictly a Korean Skincare thing but I got it a K Beauty box so ... Prickly Pear Jelly. I LOVE the stuff. I had a rash/blotchy area/dry spot (not really sure what it was) that I had been using all kinds of different creams and treatments on. Nothing was working. I got the Prickly Pear jelly and after just one use saw improvement. After about 3 nights of applying it the spot was cleared up. I was so happy - no more itchy neck. It works well on sunburns too.

One of your subbies recommended the Acure radically rejuvenating whipped night cream (I found it on yesstyle so I THINK it's k-beauty but I'm not sure) It's too early to see the effects but the ingredient list is soo bomb
I would guess that the spring water in Korean products are popular for the same reason French women use thermal water. Normal tap water contains heavy metals which overtime can damage the skin.

Jeju island is a BIG deal in Korea. It is basically Korea's version of Hawaii lol it is THE go-to 'tropical' vacation spot. It's famous for it's mandarin oranges, green tea and sea food (산낙지 anyone?! lol ). Jeju Island is supposed to be "pure" and "untouched" so ingredients/resources from there are seen as very high quality. I've been to Jeju Island and it is an absolutely STUNNING place to visit and I highly recommend visiting. It is a Unesco world heritage site as well :)
I've yet to get into Korean skincare (aside from a few products I've tried) because the ingredients lists often scare the bajeezeus out of me. The few products I've found interesting but haven't tried had ingredients lists longer than my arm, which I'm very iffy and picky about, and most contain parfum and/or fragrance. Now that my face is acclimated to fragrance-free products, it's incredibly difficult to incorporate any fragrances into my routine.... Even in small amounts.... Without breaking out, or, worse. The few products I've tried and liked I enjoyed because they were effective with minimal, good-for-skin ingredients.... And then there's some with great ingredient lists but which produce only minimal or mild results. So, essentially, I've not yet understood the obsession with K-beauty... Or, rather, Korean skincare. I feel a lot of it is more trendy than anything else.
BLITHE, pressed serum gold apricot or Radiance and brightening. They have three of their options that do different things for the skin as far as the Pressed serums go. As I said I received this one as a sample and fell in love. The ingredient list is ridiculously long and I don't like that but I'm not ingredients Genius Like You. The website I found it on was from a video about pores it has numerous Korean products on it that are extremely well priced. Almost suspiciously well LOL. I'm definitely going to check out the second item you spoke about. And can I just say that the fact that you really did research on the abuse of snails is adorable. I know that people are very intense about this and they should be someone needs to save this planet but snails? I mean now that I know there juice is good I'm all about saving the snails. Either way as always a very informative well-researched if a cool video! LOL I'm sorry I write numerous comments throughout your videos I had to write my first one when I came across this right after telling you you should review Korean products and then I clicked on this LOL and then I had to tell you how amazing you are and then I had to get back to watching the rest of the video LOL. But I absolutely love love love love love this pressed serum I'm not sure if it really had any benefits for my other than making my skin a peerless dry under makeup which I absolutely love. Obviously makeup is not something that you need to use because you have Perfect Skin LOL but I promise I am very intense about what foundations and concealers I put on my skin and I only wear a full-face of make-up if I'm going out which lately is less and less because getting old sucks! LOL I need to have some kids or something because those are the only parties people have anymore... Birthday parties for their kids and I'm not opposed to a bouncy house lol lol #ugh!!! I miss my old skin and my old life haha!!!

Me and my smart bottoms decided to use the AHA/BHA toner everyday and night. Now my cheeks feeling like they've been sunburned for days, although I already stopped using it for 2 days. Now I'm only using Soon Jung's relief toner when I feel like it, followed by Cosrx Snail mucin essence serum plus E.L.F Moisturizer. Combi skin, Oily t zone and normal to dry cheeks which atm feels like it's kinda sensitive 🙃 before this I had sensitive nose from rubbing my nose with the double cleanser too much, to get rid of the "blackheads"
@@cindysvibes9895 honestly I would recommend once a week instead. I'm no expert of course but I've completely stopped using them. I do have fungal acne and I was using too much skincare products so I gave all of them away including this toner. But just on a safe side I think once a week is better for your dry skin and if you feel it's alright you can increase the usage to maybe 2 times a week to 3 times. After watching so many skincare videos a lot of them mention we should only exfoliate once a week so when I use it everyday, I understood why it burns so I dont recommend that. And btw there were videos saying this toner is very mild so note that it differs from every different individual. Just because someone have the same skin type as u (example:dry skin) doesn't mean you both will have the same result to the same products -based on what I've collected from watching so many skincare videos.
So my mom got the corsrx aha/bha toner, the 96 mucin essence and the snail 92 cream, but she had a bad reaction to it, apparently. She has rosacea, which is usually triggered by certain foods or stress, so I came here to get a more knowledgeable opinion on things. From what I gathered, these products should do pretty well for her, given the mucin, right? Are there known interactions with rosacea for these products? Either way, she gave them to me to test, so I guess my opinion will be added into this too.

Innisfree is not cruelty free though :(
@@RutujaDicholkar theyre cruelty free except for China.
Mira Parker I second this! Also maybe benton products too

The corx AHA is literally the only aha that works for me that takes away bumps and milia on my face. Ive tried so many different ones that either burns or doesn’t make a difference.
Hi i hve some bumps n some congested pores cn i clear it with dt toner
Hey i just wanted to leave my take on one of these products! I got the toner he talked about in the beginning and I absolutely love it. It’s gentle enough that I can use it morning and night on my sensitive skin! It doesn’t give super drastic immediate results but with repeated use I’ve noticed a lot fewer clogged pores and my skin is significantly smoother
So great to read this comment from a person with sensitive skin like myself! Can I ask you if you also use another chemical exfoliator once a week with this or only this product is enough for a good exfoliation? Thank you!
Hey I hv a very dry skin not sensitive so do u recommend for hydration of the skin

@Sak Gt basically I do an oil cleanser, a water cleanser, exfoliate, then use the essence, my moisturizer, and occasionally a sheet mask and/or eye cream.
@@maze2253 i imagine you can, but since its so slippery, I'd apply a powder first, then liquid foundation and stuff after.
Hi Hyram, thanks for the review, i was wondering if you do a review of the "Cosrx Bha Blackhead Power Liquid" v/s "Paula Choice 2% BHA". Thanks
YES PLEASE
Have never tried the Paula's Choice one but for me the cosrx one does nothing. Nada. Zilch. Literally makes me confused because benton bha does more for my skin eventhough benton's bha percentage is way lower
Paula choice win. Because for COSRX, we have to 'gambling' to get the right pH inside the product so it'd do the work on your skin.

Cosrx does let them chill:)
That's why I decided to purchase their snail mucin products.
Angela Jung free range snails 😂😂😂
This is not the regular smile snails produce, they produce this slime as a way to protect their bodies from harm. In order for farmers to extract the slime, they “agitate” and stress out the snails using salt, which is known to harm them, or they starve the snails to trigger them to release more mucus. Many farmers and companies want consumers to believe that no sails were harmed when collecting the slime, but I wouldn't believe them.
Alma i keep hearing conflicting reasons why they produce it. Seen many sites stating when they are happy and healthy they produce it
I’ve used the toner for ages and never had problems with leaking. Sad to see that you had a bad bottle :/
I like the Cosrx Centella Asiatica toner. Very calming for rosacea.
I stopped using their serum and replaced with The Ordinary's and I saw immediate effect (3-4 days)
All in all, 3/5 for Cosrx for good price and easy use. It was quite hard to choose which ones to use from too.
I just randomly bought the Essence. It was super cheap, so I decided to buy it. Now I am so excited to use it. Thanks!

Jeju Island is supposed to be "pure" and "untouched" so ingredients/resources from there are seen as very high quality. Can you do a video on your favorite physical and chemical exfoliants with recommendations for skintypes? Thank you!!!!! 💜
Hii do you spray it directly on your face or do you use cotton pads?
Jona7 I spray directly on my face most of time. However, when I wear mask too long (more than 8hrs) then my lip area gets sensitive then, I apply to the cotton pad.
I laughed so hard when you explained how they extract those stuff from snails.
Is it better to apply the snail muccin in the morning or nighttime??
Do you think it's fine if I use it once a day? I have dry skin
I love cosrx it has helped and healed my dry ass skin!
