the world is a less safe place with the passing of Richard Marcinko.. RIP sir and thank you for all you have done for our nation.. what shame the current course we are in the US
If I had the resources, I'd create a miniseries about the creation of SEAL Team 6. It'd be a period piece set in the 80's, Narcos-style, focusing on Marcinko, and span from a few years before Operation Eagle Claw to the end of Marcinko's command of the unit. There would obviously be room for multiple seasons.
I'm facinated by that specific point in time...the early 80's. The creation of SOCOM. The height of the Cold War. The Vietnam Vets having to train a new generation of young warriors. It would be interesting to see the rivalry between Charles Beckwith and Richard Marcinko, or just the utter disdain the Delta Force operators had for this new unit trying to encroach on "their territory." Plus the soundtrack would be awesome
@@kal5126 I don't think there was any disdain, and if Marcinko and Beckwith had a rivalry it was a friendly one. Marcinko himself said he had enormous respect for Beckwith and was saddened by the treatment he got after the failed Iran mission.
Would the hatred come from the Army vs Navy game? And being delta force vs navy seal, both would've worked and cross trained with one another. Game recognises game.
Keep in mind these kind of videos were dramatically produced. A lot of what you see, is acting, for the cameras, to make it look cool. In reality, even during this time, the actual training was just as boring, mundane and grueling as it is now.
@@springbloom5940 exactly that was an hour of “cool guy stuff”what’s great is when in 2021 an they put on a video from 1985 to teach guys how to ride bicycles lol soon as the instructor wit his shorts an mustache came on an the music in background i new it was gonna b a great course lol
The final fantasy/fantasy rpg battle music trips me out. Crazy how that tone matched the era at the time. The vast majority of these vhs videos, didn't matter what they were about, were like this too. Definitely doesn't match now lol
I have thumbed through a number of Dick Marcinko's books. He comes across to me as an alcoholic narcissist. He is a good 'sea story" teller, and great at putting a spin on things. In many ways it was with him that SEALs went Hollywood. I know he is a combat veteran, that is decorated. Have known Viet Nam vets that were Army or Marine Infantry, that saw more action, and never wrote books. Most, do not like to talk about it, Marcinko talks endlessly.
This is basic training that amounts to common sense that these law enforcement personnel should already have. In other words... This is a basic training refresher course that Marcenko pushed as extra training. He used his name and status to market something that the law enforcement community thought it needed when they had it the whole time. It’s pure BS.
Thanks Marcinko for training law enforcement to use military skills on unarmed civilians. It's bad enough they attack the wrong people and innocents die. I always have a vision that these crooked evil men and women with badges of law get invaded and taken down by elite Army 75th Rangers. That would make the rest of my life.

@@Max0r847 I don't think entire departments need to be dismantled. We just need to police the police. This should be the city and state gov job, but that is hard to do when they promote big intrusive government. Gotta fix the root of the problem: tar and feather the neo-marxists in all levels of gov. End one party rule in the major cities. Otherwise it just takes a lil time and it goes right back to where it was.

@@hondomclean6759 Correction: Delta Force/CAG and DEVGRU/SEAL Team 6. Other SEAL Teams are Tier 2.

Amazing how outdated some tactics in this video are, and even more amazing is seeing that some haven’t changed a bit. Interesting

Opposition to this comment is knee-jerk. The point is at best underappreciated.
